  1. Damn, you're right. My mistake for nominating it though (I recall being rather tired when I did them, so it's no surprise that I nominated this and a Muse song from 2000 in error.) I can't think of another Eels song from their first two albums to replace it (at least not one that I'd want to nominate). As a substitute Colm, I'll settle for Depeche Mode's 'World In My Eyes' (I'll edit it into my original nominations post).
  2. They're albums. Sorry, I probably should've made that a bit clearer...

  4. Out of ones that haven't been mentioned yet, Minor Victories and Yak have released great debuts this year which I think could maybe get nominated. Second albums from Eagulls and Teleman, whose debuts weren't nominated, were also pretty good as well.

It's a deluxe re-issue of an old album of theirs from '82. I actually bought the big 6-disc box version which was the bargain price of £39.99  (I got some birthday money which paid for it). I imagine it'll be almost entirely front-loaded though, so it wouldn't surprise me if it ends up at like #56 or something like that on Friday...

  7. 'Soundcheck' has ended up being my favourite track on the album. And it actually took me a while to get into them too, mostly because I found them at first to be a slightly below-average indie band ("Think of Razorlight if they were a bit more middle-of-the-road", was how I described the album to someone around the time of its release). Said description is something I still agree with to a certain extent, and it does slightly baffle me as to how they've ended up selling so many albums when there's been far superior releases by Mystery Jets, The Vaccines, The Cribs, et al in the time since 'The Balcony' was released, which perhaps deserve more attention. But still, they're far from terrible and I tend to be a sucker for most indie bands, so that's probably why I've ended up liking them

Michael Kiwanuka's album has been reduced to £4.99 on Amazon which will probably help it a little bit, though I doubt that will be enough for him to keep the #1?
  14. Albums Bright Light Bright Light - Choreography (Recordstore.co.uk Signed Edition) Björk - Vulnicura Live Michael Kiwanuka - Love and Hate I'll probably stream Good Charlotte and Jeff Beck. Might get round to downloading the Banks and Britney singles later...

It's only just been released on vinyl this week, though I'm not entirely sure if that's the sole reason for the re-entry?
