  4. What's with the climb for the Minor Victories album? Nice to see it higher than it was on Monday and Tuesday anyway...
  5. Rather surprised to see The Kills in the Top 10! Hopefully it'll still be Top 20 by Friday, but still - that'll definitely be their highest charting album on Friday considering their previous highest was only #40.
  6. It certainly is - 'Tarot Sport' is one of my favourite albums of the last 10 years or so.
  7. Albums Ladyhawke - Wild Things Tegan and Sara - Love You to Death Minor Victories - Minor Victories Cat's Eyes - Treasure House The Kills - Ash and Ice Whitney - Light Upon the Lake (Will probably stream Dexys, The Monkees and Paul Simon). 9. It had a huge boost from sales on 7-inch (nearly 15,000 were on that format out of the 27.8k it sold the week it was at #2) but you're right - they definitely had some far superior singles from their previous albums.
  10. Kinda sad to see those Manics singles so low, but it's not that surprising since they are taken from what is considered by some to be their worst album (Even the band themselves have disowned it, but imo it's severely underrated).
  11. It probably won't be getting too many trickle sales now though, considering certain recent events :heehee: (On a serious note, it's probably somewhere between 450k and 500k at a rough guess...)
  12. Albums Frank Turner - Positive Songs for Negative People (Vinyl) Clare Maguire - Stranger Things Have Happened Catfish and the Bottlemen - The Ride Death in Vegas - Transmission Beth Orton - Kidsticks Flume - Skin Singles/EPs Pet Shop Boys - The Pop Kids (White 12") Charli XCX - Vroom Vroom (Signed 12") Sadly, Amazon have delayed the delivery of the PSB single - not too sure why though as of yet. Also the Frank Turner LP was reduced to just £7 on there (ironically cheaper than the CD of it I bought from there last August), but it's not getting dispatched for another 2 weeks as they've run out at the moment, which isn't surprising. Will probably stream new albums by Fifth Harmony, ABC and Gold Panda, as well as The Strokes' new EP too.
  13. I don't even think they're that great - especially since there are so many superior British alternative/indie bands who have delivered great albums this year.
  14. I made a reference to that in my review of Charlie's album as part of my English... Needless to say, I had nothing positive at all to say about the album though :nono:
  15. He also tweeted to someone that Flume is at #9. Nice to see Beth Orton in the Top 10 though - that should hopefully secure her a Top 20 place for Friday.
  16. http://www.brooklynvegan.com/files/2016/03/kidsticks2.jpg British singer/songwriter Beth Orton has released her seventh (!!!) album today. I remember first hearing of her through her guest appearances on early Chemical Brothers albums, as well as her own albums 'Trailer Park' and 'Central Reservation' from the late '90s, both of which are excellent. Her last couple of albums, for me at least, have been a little bit boring, so it's nice to see this album is something of a reinvention, as it's been co-produced by Andrew Hung from F*** Buttons. I've been playing 'Moon' and '1973' a lot which were released ahead of the album, but the whole thing is fantastic on first listen that it's hard to really pick out a favourite or two. 1. Snow 2. Moon 3. Petals 4. 1973 5. Wave 6. Dawnstar 7. Falling 8. Corduroy Legs 9. Flesh and Blood 10. Kidsticks SjlHOpAzjxM axdhdiQQejc Edit: Tiny grammatical error - nothing major
  17. It's slightly better than 'The Balcony' as a whole, but I can't blame you for that as the new Flume album is even better than I expected. The new Beth Orton and Death In Vegas albums are what I plan on purchasing as they both sound like the best material either act has put out in over 15 years.
  18. Jake. posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
How far off a million is it, just out of curiosity?
  19. 'Purple Rain' repeaked at #6 (original peak was #8) which was probably helped by very little of his musical output being on streaming services (except for Tidal I think?). As for Bowie, 'Heroes' repeaked at #12 (original peak was #24). 'Changes' (#49) and 'Suffragette City' (#194) also charted for the first time too. But for an answer to your original question, I think either 'Stairway to Heaven' or 'Whole Lotta Love' by Led Zeppelin might repeak if either Jimmy Page or Robert Plant were to pass away. The only other one I can really think of is Dolly Parton ('9 to 5') maybe going Top 40 finally. I would've said 'Anarchy in the UK' by The Sex Pistols too, but I think more people would opt to buy/stream 'God Save the Queen' now that I think about it.
  20. Was very surprised a thread hadn't been created for this... Thought I'd do one anyway. Tracklist: 1 - 7 2 - Twice 3 - Soundcheck 4 - Postpone 5 - Anything 6 - Glasgow 7 - Oxygen 8 - Emily 9 - Red 10 - Heathrow 11 - Outside Didn't think too much to their debut (it was alright, nothing too special), and this seems to be more of the same. Seems to be getting slightly better reviews though... ACLnXD-lxuw Ibv5N70ncsk
  21. I'm genuinely baffled as to why the OCC don't even post the Bank Holiday updates at all on their site, like on the following day, leaving a gap for a "missing week" in the process. I don't see why they don't just put it in there - it just looks (for lack of a better adjective) odd... At least there's only two more Bank Holiday Mondays left this year though...

  23. Is the Manics reissue likely to remain in the Top 40 albums on Friday?
  24. Little bit unsure about 'Get My Bang' on first listen. Could be a grower though.
  25. Catfish and the Bottlemen will almost certainly be #1 on iTunes when it's out, and I've noticed their album has been in Amazon's top 100 for longer than ABC's album has (38 days vs 28 days, though that might not mean too much as Eric Clapton and Bob Dylan have had far more days than Richard Ashcroft), not to mention Amazon are selling an exclusive signed vinyl of their album so I think they've got #1 in the bag and ABC will go Top 3. There's not a lot else out next week that I imagine will even trouble the Top 10, other than Fifth Harmony and Michael Kiwanuka maybe.
