  1. I may be a moderator here, but I have no idea what @Tafty sent before or what he has sent now, but, I do feel this theme is right up his street, and so he deserves to win, and whatsmore, I can't recall him winning a song contest in recent memory, so this is well overdue, so please send us the winner Jonjo!

  5. SoundClash returns with cover songs from the 21st Century going head to head with each other. Gabrielle is an English singer and songwriter. Born in Hackney, London, she released her debut single, Dreams, in 1993, and it topped the UK Singles Chart the same year. Gabrielle has received two BRIT Awards and an Ivor Novello. Her music often blends soul, R&B, and pop influences. It's Alex Ross feat. Dakota & T-Pain vs. DJ Spoony feat. Gabrielle! You Decide! 6. What a gem of a song that Melanie C song is! Such a beaut! It was probably the highlight of Now 47 for me at the time.
  7. Predicting a landslide win for All Saints to come, in the form of a soundtrack single from this movie;
  8. Same Difference, Different Outcome.
  9. @CowTzy I can think of someone for you that inspired a certain Zanmatonese entry to go poking around your personal chart before you became a member of BuzzJack!
  10. @Hadji since the releases of Yearbooks for 1989 + Extra... have you had an attempt at creating "The Final Chapter - 1985-1989" to coincide with the one they did for the first half of the decade? Plus that will have an Extra release too, so you're looking at seven discs in total with approximately 140 more songs from those 5 years that haven't featured so far on any other Yearbook?
  11. That or your big fat lies! @Mangø get him!
  12. What I meant was it ruins their suspense or finding out tomorrow if they won or not... but at least for the other finalists they can still be surprised. It's fine, it has to be done this way obviously.
  13. That sort of spoils it for anyone who was hoping to receive the Golden Wagner... if they haven't been informed, then they haven't been saved...
  14. EVERY round it's important Addy! Don't let us down now!
  15. So much to say about those last few tracks but it's all been a trip down memory lane for me. Plus @Scene pay attention to @gooddelta's descriptive of Cheiron-sounding songs and send us your best version for the next BJSC so I can award big points! 😄
  16. Oh what a big song to lose this early on! Looking back, it definitely felt like some sort of contractual repayment for Chicane being an uncredited producer on Cloud Number Nine (a personal favourite of mine for many years). This style of music might have worked well and suited Bryan's vocals, but I don't get the sense that he wanted to be involved, despite appearing in the music video. He never returned to this type of dance music again after that. It still goes down for me as the second best #1 on Now 45 at the time, beaten only by Fragma of course.
  17. Ok caught up... So that final Westlife song was clearly a marketing ploy to try and attract a wider American audience albeit ineffective. The collaboration didn't feel like either artist wanted it at the time but labels pushed it to happen. The result was a very unimpressive #1 from the year. Incidentally I don't think it make it onto any compilation at the time. For Oasis, I did in fact enjoy that single at the time, it felt anthemic at the time, and I didn't know too many Oasis songs by name at this point despite hearing many of them in the years before. I didn't care for the other releases from this era from them but they improved in their next era for me. The song itself was enough to appear on New Hits 2000 which I was pleased with. The Billie Piper story is a sad one for me. She had so much star potential and charisma. I ended up enjoying Something Deep Inside more than her #1 of this era even though it never made it onto a Now compilation at the time. I think I've even played Walk Of Life more times than her #1 here but I wish we had so much more from her as a pop star. She had so much energy, good looks and her music was great. I'm glad she at least made the Top 30 here, though I'd wish it was a tad higher.
  18. Haven't you made us endure enough Westlife for one day! 😂
  19. What was all the fuss about a Radiohead track that didn't even appear in the Top 100 then?
