  1. Just shows what the bottom clubs are capable of when they aren't chasing survival. Leicester and Southamoton both holding their hopeful champions league opponents just shows that they could have shown such fight earlier in the season if they had dug deep.
  2. EP to come in a couple of weeks time; https://open.spotify.com/prerelease/61zjWZqCF20H8wPA2JHU8F?si=0432413b328d4951
  3. Why is Trent going to Real Madrid any different that when Michael Owen went at the prime of his life? Surely he was a local lad too and cherished by the Liverpool fans?
  4. Waits for @Julian_ to present an interesting fact making it very unordinary! Edit: I guess it was the first solo single by a former Take That member, and it probably wasn't ordinary to see a band member go solo as it is these days, so it would have been one of the first (in a while perhaps) case of a member of a boy band going on to achieve success in their own right. Would that have counted as ordinary to you in 1996?
  5. Why is this then? Not that I am necessarily disagreeing with you, but what about the song makes it seem ordinary?
  6. SoundClash returns with cover songs from the 21st Century going head to head with each other. 7. I was recently thinking that the most ordinary #1 would probably have to be a forgettable ballad with little significance, and this one fits the bill perfectly! It is more ordinary too in that it's a "rinse and repeat" of an original hit that was covered.
  8. That was quite a toxic reception for Trent today.

  10. Right ok, but you did say previously that the reason you mark is as a GRAT was to differentiate between an album track and a single, so the point I'm simply making here is that not all album tracks are in fact "album tracks" so labelling them as a GRAT by default is not strictly accurate as they can be changed at any point to become an official single which happens quite often these days if something takes off and goes viral. Not only that, some album tracks have official music videos accompanying them which would suggest more than just an album track (potentially).
  11. Even though you understand some album tracks get sent to radio and so are upgraded from a promotional single to an official single. Is that not what happened earlier in the year with IT Girl by JADE?
  12. I thought @Tafty would be all over this round! 🤭
  13. For me it would be around 1998/99 and I tuned into the Pepsi Chart hosted by Doctor Fox.

  17. To me, and I guess only me, it screams "not an official single" whereas it in fact is a single, and it may go on to get its own "Single" release with artwork later on as part of an edit/remix. I guess whenever I see the word "GRAT" next to a new release in your list it somehow devalues it or makes it seem like it's a less significant release compared with the others? Admittedly I never stopped to consider how these tracks downloads do not count as pure sales, not that it makes much difference to chart performance anyway in 2025.
  18. Thanks Whoody! Playlists added. Pity there wasn't room for Elbow this week.
  19. How long was it after completing the first half of the 80s decade that we received a "Final Chapter" collection? Also, given that the "Final Chapter" was a collection of 5 years... would they milk yet another collection for the whole 10 years to rinse up any remaining unused tracks they have access to?
  20. That's sort of how I am seeing it too, which is why I am very reluctant to put together a poll of all the songs so far as they are a little all over the place! Could you cite some examples once again of songs you consider to be rather ordinary to you @Mangø please.
  21. Interesting nomination. So what about the song makes it ordinary to you then?
  22. SoundClash returns with cover songs from the 21st Century going head to head with each other. American singer Chaka Khan is widely known for being the Queen of Funk due to her work both with Rufus and also as a soloist.
