Praise Madge! I’ve been arguing with people on Reddit trying to convince them that streaming is a waste of time compared to just downloading it. They think just because “people don’t buy music” anymore that it doesn’t matter, but it will always be the easiest way to impact the charts.

Apparently she had new variants in the third week that inflated her sales a bit and she doesn’t have any this week. I’m just going off what a random on Twitter said though lol. If that’s true I think Madonna should be safe, but I don’t want to jinx it!

I caved and paid £140 for it on eBay 💔 tempted to cancel because that feels like too much money for something I’ll be too scared to open! Although I was willing to pay £108 for it when it was still available on the US site, so it felt somewhat reasonable… I don’t know, that’s by far the most I’ve ever spent on an album. I’ve just lost hope on it ever restocking.

I keep seeing younger fans emphasising streaming, they don’t realise there’s very little impact us hardcore fans can have on that. The most you can contribute from Spotify in one week is 0.7 sales (iirc), whereas if you download multiple times from multiple stores the impact will be much greater (bc obviously). So yes streaming is important but “streaming parties” will always have a very limited impact, Kylie fans understand that downloads and physicals still have power when a fanbase is mobilised!

So was the 29k pre-orders rumour fake then? I imagine the streams will add quite a bit + any fans buying on release day and throughout the week, more than 11-16k I’d have thought
