  1. Then being forced into playing Madonna and Shania Twain as their youthful Radio 1 darlings still deemed them alive enough to collaborate with! Imagine x
  2. God forbid any of us on a music forum have a preference or make a comment in jest eh?
  3. I think Radio 1 today made it pretty clear they’re not going to support Padam Padam no matter how well it does :( Also TECHNICALLY they broke their own “embargo” with that BBC article earlier which said the song had broke into the top 10, hours before the chart was announced
  4. Idk what a Peggy Gou is but can she wait til Padam Padam goes on ACR pls!
  5. What does a “chart embargo” have to do with us then
  6. I don’t know why he’s so bothered about it it’s not against the law, just stay off social media if you really don’t want to know
  7. That’s literally word for word the exact answer they gave when they were called out for ageism against Madonna in 2015, do they just have a stock response for this exact situation? They could not care less omg https://www.digitalspy.com/music/radio/a629...never-a-factor/
  8. I’m dying for the charts to leak. If anybody knows please message me!
  9. Nope I haven’t got mine either, bit annoyed
  10. David Bowie’s was also an instant grat, meaning everyone who pre-ordered the album got a copy of the song as well (before they banned it). So it does kind of come with a big asterisk, it dropped from #6 to #41 to out of the charts after 2 weeks.
  11. I don’t think it does. It says order complete, but I haven’t had any emails and if the dispatch date is tomorrow I doubt they can count it for this week :arrr:
  12. My cassette has a dispatch date of the 16th so I’m guessing it won’t count until next week. Mine is from the second batch though
  13. And before Believe you had Aretha’s ‘A Deeper Love’ peaking at #5 in 1994 when she was 52. Tina and Diana were scoring top 20 hits consistently in the 90s, it’s not like nowadays where there’s just a total absence of older women on the charts
  14. Tina Turner also got a #10 hit with When the Heartache is Over in 1999 when she was 60! Let’s hope Padam Padam has a similar effect for older female artists nowadays as Believe did back then
  15. It would definitely have been Celebration. Kylie rising again! :w00t:
  16. Mariah’s Touch My Body peaked at #5 when she was 39. Whitney had a top 10 hit with Million Dollar Bill in 2009 at 46. Shania debuting in her mid-30s and being so successful was a rarity!
  17. Where did I say they were anywhere near as big as Believe? Of course they weren’t but do you think Believe would have been in a position to be such a big hit if there wasn’t already a precedent for older female artists to do well in the charts? There’s nothing like that nowadays, that’s why Padam Padam is so exciting even if it only just peaks at #10.
  18. Well we still had Diana Ross, Tina Turner and Aretha Franklin (then all in their 40s and 50s), just to name a few, getting top 10 hits in the 90s. It was a very different time and it was “easier” as older artists were simply actually represented on the charts!
  19. A sale was a sale, for one
  20. Especially when collabing with one of the biggest current pop stars. Cold Heart was unique but Padam Padam’s success is more impressive imo, it’s just classic Kylie - no features, no samples, no rehashed older songs.
  21. I’m still really nervous! 113 seems like a big physical increase for it to just be CDs? Come on BMG, give us an instrumental to seal the deal If anyone has the full table with the breakdown of sales I’d appreciate it if they sent me it
  22. Well she got 3 sales out of me today, that’s enough
  23. A 75p instrumental or acoustic would’ve done much more I think I can’t see many bothering to download a video. At least they’re doing something I guess
  24. That Kylie reign just won’t let up :cheeseblock:
  25. Go Kylie!!! It’s crazy I was expecting it to drop or stay stable until the weekend like it usually does but it just keeps growing
