I don’t feel like Fortnight has had much impact - obviously the first week numbers are huge! But it seems like more of a Cardigan than an Anti-Hero

I’m honestly quite shocked all we’re seemingly getting from this era is 3 singles (2 videos). Hold On To Now’s release was so botched it hardly even counts as a single, the era was basically done the day the album was released. It’s really not like BMG to just release the album and move on, the Disco and Golden eras seemed to go on forever. I don’t know but she did very well to get a top 10 and a top 20 hit, would’ve been nice to see them try to keep the momentum up.

I’m kinda not surprised it’s not looking to have much longevity I still haven’t heard it anywhere

They’re “on hiatus” in the same sense that NSYNC and One Direction went on hiatus lol. Between Us was absolutely supposed to be their Destiny Fulfilled/Ten era, and that was 3 years ago now

They waited too long tbh. I feel like they should’ve done a Destiny’s Child/Cheryl and started solo careers while they were still active as a group. I don’t know if the interest is there for them individually anymore, it has been 13 years since they won X Factor!

Wouldn’t Taylor’s own monthly listeners be a good enough indication? :lol:

Happy for Taylor fans I guess but this monopoly stranglehold she has over the industry is getting tiring

I’d rather have a top 10 peak than a top 20 and a slightly artificially boosted second week tbh!

I mean if I had to compare them single by single Single 1: Roar vs Houdini Single 2: Unconditionally vs Training Season Single 3: Dark Horse vs Illusion Katy wins by a mile

I think it’s just especially more noticeable given how high standards are for hits these past few months. We’ve had Noah Kahan, Beyoncé, Djo, Hozier, Teddy Swims etc. all getting 600-700k+ days consistently recently and Dua’s three new singles just haven’t reached those heights as I’m sure a lot of people were expecting her to after Future Nostalgia. I’d compare it to Rihanna coming back with Russian Roulette after GGGB (which also got 6 weeks top 10 in the downloads era when songs didn’t stick around as long) and it was considered a bit of a disappointment.

I still can’t get into Good Luck Babe, I’ve listened 3 or 4 times and still remember nothing about it. Red Wine Supernova was much more instant for me

Why is it a problem to have that opinion though?

If you set the bar at making the Spotify top 200 then nothing by a major artist can ever be considered an underperformance

It probably also has to do with the lack of promotion Tension has had here compared to Disco. Her focus on America this era is still pretty baffling to me

You’d think they’d see how it’s performing and rush everything out this week. Odds are it’ll continue sinking like a stone, might as well aim for the highest peak possible

I think it’s less to do with charts and more that Perrie releasing a music video is likely to go over a lot of people’s heads when there’s a new Taylor album clogging up their feeds

I might just be insanely out of touch but I’ve never heard this Hozier song anywhere whereas I felt Take Me To Church was inescapable, even though I was never a fan. It doesn’t seem to have the same ubiquity

I like Red Wine Supernova but can’t get into the rest of her music, that sounds the most like a hit to me so I don’t really get why Good Luck Babe is the one taking off!

With the way her streaming is going she’d need a lot of physicals for that!

How is Perrie above Dua and Sabrina when they’ve both outdone her on Spotify? Are we sure the physicals haven’t already been counted?
