  1. Have BMG really deluded themselves into thinking America is her biggest market?
  2. Agreed. She’s somewhat stable from Smile’s performance, which is what matters (definitely better than the Prism > Witness > Smile drop off). Wouldn’t really call it a “bomb”, it was never expected to be very successful
  3. I also think people are less inclined to buy the vinyl variants now that there’s no sense of scarcity anymore (quite the opposite). With Tension and Disco they just pressed as many as they thought would sell (and then some) but Kylie fans are collectors and want it to feel rare
  4. Jesus that makes me want to release a single (lol) and pull a Kamilyah
  5. I do want to go but considering I’ve seen them 3 times in the past 2 years, and also have to buy Alanis and Kesha tickets this week (+ Kylie a few weeks ago), I don’t think I can justify the cost. I’ll probably get tickets closer to the time
  6. It is a pretty weak lead single tbh, the album has much better to offer
  7. It’s good to not have to worry about getting the #1 anymore at least!
  8. I’m surprised it took so long to get any info!
  9. They should’ve learnt that from Disco as well!
  10. The ending of Someone For Me bumps it from a 6/10 to an 8/10 for me I know iTunes sales mean nothing but I’m shocked Tension II is only #4
  11. I’m surprised What Makes You Beautiful hasn’t made an appearance, I would’ve thought it was their biggest hit
  12. I don’t really think it’s a big deal though? M. Night Shyamalan’s latest movie is literally just a vehicle to promote his daughter’s music and she’s nowhere to be seen on any charts anywhere lol. I have literally never heard any Gracie Abrams song ever but if it’s catching on then that’s fair enough.
  13. Those are anomalies, as there have always been. How many albums debut top 10 just to drop out of the top 100 (or 200) the next week? Even Kylie’s ‘Tension’ didn’t have the longevity of Golden and Dancing despite having her two biggest hits in over a decade.
  14. I meant more the state of the charts in general  Every artist is having less longevity on the albums chart (besides the streaming behemoths obviously)
  15. Even Smile managed 4 weeks in the top 100, and with lower opening sales, can’t quite believe how much worse it’s gotten in just 4 years.
  16. It was incredibly stupid of them not to co-ordinate the physicals with the release week. I mean, it took how long to get a Padam vinyl, so it’s kind of expected. They saw how well it worked for Tension (miraculously getting a #19 peak rather than the usual few weeks spread out in the 50s) and decided never to do that again
  17. I think it would’ve been better to just release it as a double album combined with Tension instead of this mini-era they seem to be going for. Like Taylor with the surprise 17 extra songs or however many with her album. It would put less pressure on her to reach #1 with this release considering Tension already got there
  18. Exactly, I don’t mean just with this song in particular but I’ve noticed it over the past few months with her social media presence, her career overall, it’s definitely not as tailored to the UK audience as we’ve become accustomed to especially with the Golden and SBIT eras. I don’t know if that’s a good direction for her career, she’s an adopted national treasure here and doesn’t have quite the same reverence anywhere else. Tension II might be the Body Language to Tension’s Fever (don’t read too much into that comparison please )
  19. I knew it wasn’t going to recreate Padam but for it to do worse than Say Something and Dancing would be really disappointing. I’m not overly keen on the song itself honestly, I love Kylie but she has become a little more… Americanised in light of her recent US success, I think that might be off-putting to some.
  20. Wait I’m sure I got the Future one right? Did I not send my answer for that one?
  21. I’m happy to hear that, I’m definitely hoping for something less dance-y.
  22. FINALLY I get some points!
  23. All I was basing it off was that I knew the 1000th number one was in 2005 after 50-odd years of the charts. Pretty crazy to think we’re already nearly halfway to 2000!
  24. Yeah I am fuming at myself and my maths skills for this one because I do know all of their ages I just added them up incorrectly and somehow got 127 instead of 137
