Just reserved a hotel next to the Hydro for the 13th and 20th of May next year :P They were insanely expensive a few weeks ago. And not that it means much but some hotels have blocked out 2 or 3 weeks in May next year. I can always cancel if I’m wrong! Lol

Got a M&G for Glasgow! Wanted Edinburgh but I’ve been ill and fell back asleep before they went on sale :cry: Thankfully Glasgow was still available!

We know this but we can still say it would’ve been better to release on a Friday for a full week’s sales. This is a chart forum after all? Nobody is trying to manage Beyoncé’s career or attack her. There’s the exact same debate EVERY time this happens with an artist like Beyoncé, I’d find it slightly annoying no matter who it was lol. I did think she wanted to do a more traditional roll-out this time by announcing the album this far in advance but I guess not.

I don’t know why there’s such a debate for a song that is pretty likely to peak in week 1 of course it’s a dumb move chart-wise to release it midweek, I have the same frustration with Madonna (who 100% would peak in week 1!)

Yeah I saw a tweet the other day saying if streams can be “converted” into sales, then sales should be translated into streams - a trillion streams for Thriller then :P Streaming has really sucked the fun out of pop and chart following

Always Be My Baby! I usually hate to go with the obvious choices but this song is so special to me. Other favourites of mine are Butterfly, When You Believe, Fantasy and #Beautiful. Breakdown is probably my favourite non-top 40 Beautiful is the song that really got me into Mariah, great to see her have another hit almost a decade later :wub:

I feel like everything I wanted will just be instantly sold out on Friday though, they don’t keep any stock for exclusively online do they? I thought I’d got Mariah’s #1’s online from a Portuguese record store but they emailed saying they can’t confirm stock until Tuesday so guess I’m on the hunt for that again :( I got Sara Bareilles ‘Little Voice’ on eBay for a good price. I’ve given up on ‘the lakes’ but I was more fussed about the other 2 tbh.

Absolutely, especially now artists are selling more CD singles through their websites, they need to have something more worthwhile than just a few rubbish remixes. I feel like a lot of B-sides served a purpose, to complement the A-side (there was a lot of album reject rubbish too obviously :P). Janet’s Accept Me is one of my favourite songs of hers and it was a B-side to Every Time

I don’t see why, surely 3 EPs that don’t chart are worse than one album with a 15-OUT chart-run? :unsure:

Tbh looking at the track running times the singles seem quite obvious (basically all of the ones under 5 minutes lol), especially Can I Get It - Max Martin, Shellback, it’s the Send My Love of 30.

Loving this! Feels like the most inspired I’ve heard her in a long time, Head Above Water was a decent album but a bit dull overall. I wish she released this in a less competitive month. What are the chances Radio 1 give this a spot? Highly doubt it but I don’t see why they shouldn’t

This was a very funny read! The almost 100% negative feedback. I was 8 in 2008 but I felt the same way about Adele, one of those Amy Winehouse wannabes getting pushed out of nowhere. Obviously my feelings have changed lol
