  1. Wouldn't have thought a Labour majority could happen even two years ago. As for Reform... I mean, at least it's only 13 but hopefully they won't be making too much noise.
  2. Do we tend to see drastic changes from the exit poll? I can't remember.
  3. That's rather significant.
  4. Ooh this is sort of exciting but terrifying.

I'm also based in Birmingham but he's not in my constituency. I'm aware of him though and the thing I don't understand is why the situation in Gaza is part of his manifesto.

I totally believed that Labour would have sneaked it in 2019, as that's what the mood seemed to be. Granted, the mood is even stronger in their favour this time round but I still have that little bit of worry.

Just voted. The station itself wasn't very busy but I doubt that's an indicator. I'm intrigued as to how many votes they'll have in total. The 2019 general election was approximately 32 million, with the 2015 election being 30.7 million, and 2010 being 29.7 million. The EU Referendum was 33.6 million.

I'm looking forward to seeing how this plays out. I was also 12 the last time Labour was in power. The country deserves to heal from the damage inflicted over the years.

Loosely related but I remember Lee Nelson (the comedian) doing a routine on TV and asked an older gentleman in the audience "who did you vote for?" (with no prior context). He said "Tories", leading to some boos from the audience. Lee Nelson goes "I'm talking about The X Factor". That was 2013. I imagine that would be more unpopular now!

Those who liked Boris Johnson that much, despite everything about him that was pretty clear, won't vote for anyone else regardless. I'd be amazed if there's many people still on the fence.

Bit of a lazy thing to go for, as that's surely one of the least controversial things he's said and done. I can't think of anything wrong with that.

    Yes, I think that's worldwide.
  13. Aston Merrygold from JLS? Though I don't know if he was expected to do much. Zayn from 1D, I think he had a lot of initial momentum that he didn't make the most of.

I can see Southgate resigning before the day is out.

    Yeah, it's over for England.

Dishonest because people disagreed with him? Is that what he's saying?

    Just a week to go!

Yes, but with that list I was going for their biggest entries.

I was looking through the biggest selling albums and singles of all time in the UK and I find it interesting that there are not many artists in there that are both non-white and have come out of the UK. Acts like Bruno Mars, Michael Jackson and The Weeknd have had a lot of success but obviously they're not from here. I'm not bringing this up to be divisive or anything, I just thought it was interesting. If we look at singles (for soloists): 2,400,000 - Joel Corry feat. MNEK - Head & Heart (#1, 2020) [bPI: November 2022] 1,800,000 - Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love (#1, 2007) [bPI: March 2021] 1,800,000 - Alexandra Burke - Hallelujah (#1, 2008) [bPI: December 2022] 1,800,000 - Rudimental feat. Ella Eyre - Waiting All Night (#1, 2013) [bPI: September 2022] 1,500,000 - ZAYN - PILLOWTALK (#1, 2016) [OCC: November 2022] 1,316,000 - Craig David - 7 Days (#1, 2000) [MTV: January 2022] 1,200,000 - Stormzy - Shut Up (#8, 2015) [bPI: November 2020] 1,200,000 - Mark Morrison - Return of the Mack (#1, 1996) [bPI: September 2019] 1,200,000 - Ramz - Barking (#2, 2017) [bPI: January 2021] 1,200,000 - Labrinth feat. Emeli Sande - Beneath Your Beautiful (#1, 2012) [bPI: January 2018] And albums: 3,210,000 - Leona Lewis - Spirit (#1, 2006) [Est: October 2022] 2,510,000 - Emeli Sande - Our Version Of Events (#1, 2012) [Est: October 2022] 1,976,000 - Craig David - Born to Do It (#1, 2000) [13/10/22] 821,189 - Alexandra Burke - Overcome (#1, 2009) [OCC: November 2015] 429,833 - Stormzy - Gang Signs & Prayer (#1, 2017) [OCC: January 2020] 300,000 - Labrinth - Electronic Earth (#2, 2012) [bPI: April 2021] 100,000 - ZAYN - Mind of Mine (#1, 2016) [bPI: November 2018] 100,000 - Ella Eyre - Feline (#4, 2015) [bPI: October 2019] There's undoubtedly more but just a few that came to mind.

That one is also certified 2x Platinum but it depends if it was higher than 1.28m. Correct - amended.
  24. In the case of Paul Sinha, I think his Parkinson's was setting in around then. He announced it mid-way through the series' broadcast.

Well, it's nice to see Tories actually facing the consequences of their actions. I know that it has happened before, but not enough in my view. It took years for people to realise what Boris Johnson is like even though it was clear in plain sight, for example.
