  1. It would be nice to see 100k+ sales for once but it's going to need a massive push. Hopefully the Britain's Got Talent live performance will help with that.
  2. A thread looking at songs which have seen a significant uplift in sales/chart position after they were featured on TV, either within an advert, a performance (either by the original artist or someone covering it), or played in the background as part of a performance. Obvious ones I can think of is Adele's "Make You Feel My Love" peaking at #4 after a performance of it on X Factor in 2010, and Tracy Chapman's "Fast Car" peaking at also #4 after a performance of it on Britain's Got Talent in April 2011. Any other examples you can think of, in terms of significant uplifts?
  3. 7.2m viewers this year (in the UK), which is up on last year's 6.6m.
  4. Hopefully they've got a new version in the pipeline but I can see the original charting reasonably well, although it tends to chart in World Cup years more than Euro years. Not always. The Children in Need single in 2014 managed it, but the chart has changed since. I think it might end up at something like #6 officially but it wouldn't surprise me if it was #1 on sales. It'd need to shift a lot - it probably didn't account for much but I wonder how much the NHS Choir were helped by the promotional push by Justin Bieber?
  5. I hope the Gareth Malone choir, Joe & Jake and Reggie N Bollie can do well this week.
  6. Are Calum Scott and Jake Quickenden anywhere to be seen?
  7. Do we know for sure that they are duetting? If so, then the only duet I can think of with Leona is "Trouble" (a single she released in 2012). I think she duetted with male singers with that.
  8. Wasn't Kelly Clarkson on voice rest, hence why Ben couldn't perform Second Hand Heart with her? If she's off voice rest now couldn't they do that? If they're bringing back past X Factor acts, like the likes of Leona who aren't with Syco anymore, It'd have been nice to see Joe McElderry but realistically I understand that's not going to happen.
  9. Amended. :)
  10. I have listed cumulative sales (i.e, totals) along with the debuts.
  11. Updated the post with Ben and Fleur's sales.
  12. Great thread. I made a thread back in July called "The X Factor Chart Stats", do you think we should merge both threads?
  13. Incorrect. OK, so I didn't read that article correctly... It definitely sold 610,286 up to this week though. I read that one correctly. Shame we won't get to see how many an Adele single sells on CD.
  14. Where is Ben Haenow currently sitting?
  15. Ben Haenow's X Factor winners single sold 214k in its first week last year, broken down as: Total: 214,239 - CD's: 47,001 - Streaming: 5,637 - Downloas: 208,602
  16. Where is Ben Haenow currently sitting?
  17. I suppose The X Factor could trigger some bigger CD sales. Last year's winners single sold 47,001 on physicals, 208k on downloads and 214k in total.
  18. Would they have picked up a significant amount of sales, do you reckon? I'm talking about the likes of Cheerleader, See You Again and Uptown Funk.
  19. Where is Ben Haenow currently at? I'd love it to get to #1 but unfortunately I don't think it's possible.
  20. I can't seem to find any sales for that, unfortunately. What do you mean I mistakenly wrote "Fly"? ;)
  21. I have added cumulative sales to the above post. It looks like it'll be an X Factor top 2 this week on the singles chart with 1D at #1 and Little Mix at #2.
  22. I think the fact he was mentored by Simon will mean him and Fleur receive the full Ella/1D/Leona in terms of the team they work with and subsequent material & promotion. Only the Young, also from the last series have a single coming out soon so it'll be interesting to see how that fares.
  23. Correct. I have edited the opening post to make this more clear to readers of this thread.
  24. For instance, I've included the best selling One Direction album - this wasn't their debut but their best selling album (in week 1). It is rare that an acts second/third release isn't their best selling (unlike the majority of the others which are the debuts). Like I mentioned in the opening post, there are no multiple entries, and so I just included the best selling One Direction album (for example). Apologies for the confusion.
  25. A thread detailing chart statistics for records released by contestants on British talent shows. They are cumulative sales where possible, with the biggest selling entry per artist.
