It's because of their US label 'Atlantic Records' doing bad promo since their 2014 album Ghost Stories. A Head Full of Dreams (2015) could have been top in US #1. But "Adele - 25" blocked them. Everyday Life (2019) is their least promoted album. Even Coldplay fans didn't know Coldplay has released new album. Music of the Spheres (2021) another mistake by Atlantic Records.

Today many songs like SJLT (Pop, Dance). I understand some of people disappointed with Coldplay's music direction. But you guys should accept their evolve. If they had gone like Parachutes, A Rush of Blood to The Head. They can't make this success. SJLT some records 1. SJLT broke records most viewed lyrics video in 24 hours on YouTube (10 million) 2. Coldplay's first ever 1 billion viewed music video. (But uploaded on Chainsmokers' channel) 3. Coldplay's most successful single in Australia (8x Platinum) i said before, SJLT sales heavily come from streaming service. You know 2000s Coldplay singles are not earned enough sales,success. SJLT on #1 selling Coldplay song - it's simple thing. Newer songs are higher chance to be #1 :)

1. This is combined sales (mostly come from music streaming). If we talk about actual sales Paradise & Viva la Vida are far better. 2. Yes Coldplay have many hit songs. But not big as Something Just Like This. 3. SJLT is least widely know song??? SJLT is 3rd biggest song of 2017 (only Shape of You, Despacito better). Why hating SJLT too much ???. Nowadays songs are mostly EDM, Electro type music.

Stop hating please, until Something Just Like This Coldplay didn't produce massive hit song. The Chainsmokers are helped them well. Maybe 'SJLT' is only widely known Coldplay song. This is not bad.

yes you're right. Additionally , Coldplay can't promote their pre-2011 singles. Coldplay is album oriented artist at very beginning. Only Yellow, Scientist,Fix You are stayed timeless.

Everglow was released by 5th official single from A Head Full of Dreams. But they didn't promote enough.

No i'm disagree, if Greatest Hits CD will come out, their all studio album sales will drop.
