  3. I'LL TAKE THAT! Robbie Williams makes HUGE decision ahead of release of new album ‘because he wants more number 1s’My insider said: 'Robbie’s ambition has not diminished and he still wants to have number ones' Ellie Henman, Bizarre Editor Published: 19:00, 28 Mar 2025 Close TOGETHER they have crafted some of the biggest pop hits of the past 30 years but Robbie Williams is making his new album without his long-time partner Guy Chambers. Insiders told me Robbie, who created genius tracks like Angels, No Regrets and Rock DJ with Guy, is now working on his 13th studio album with his drummer and live music director Karl Brazil. 3 Robbie Williams is making his new album out without long-time partner Guy Chambers (pictured on the left)Credit: Getty The album is the follow up to his last record, XXV, which went straight to the No1 spot when he released it three years back. Karl has now penned three new songs for the new album with songwriter Owen Parker, called Goodnight Johnboy, Number One and Sombrero. My insider said: “Robbie’s ambition has not diminished and he still wants to have number ones. “Robbie and Guy are still dear friends but Robbie wants to explore other songwriting options on what is going to be a very eclectic record – displaying his rock influences and his skill for crafting pop hits. “Robbie has developed a close working relationship with Karl on tour and he likes what Karl and Owen have come up with. “Karl has come up with those three tracks and they’ll all make it onto the album. “Robbie is so excited with how it is sounding.” Last year Karl let slip that Robbie had teamed up with Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi for a song called Rocket, which will also make the record. Speaking about his new music, Robbie said:“ I wanted to make the album that I’d make if I’d left Take That now, knowing what I know. “This [track] is massive guitars, as you can imagine. It’s adrenaline-filled and balls-to-the-wall. That one in particular is my favourite song off my new album. “Unfortunately, and fortunately for me, pop songs turned up along the way, too. I’m like, ‘Ah, f**k – a hit.’” Teasing Robbie’s new work, Karl added: “It’s predominantly a guitar record. Let’s face it, he can do what he wants. “Modern-day Elvis I call him, he’s absolutely bossing top of the tree.” Robbie Williams makes HUGE decision ahead of release of new album 'because he wants more number 1s' | The Irish Sun

  9. What to stream: Catch a film that’s flying under the radar, including ‘Sugarcane’ by Spokane Indigenous filmmakersMarch 25, 2025 Updated Tue., March 25, 2025 at 4:10 p.m. Julian Brave NoiseCat visits with family on the Mount Currie Indian reserve during a roadtrip with his father, Ed Archie NoiseCat, in the documentary“ Sugarcane.” (Sugarcane Film LLC) Katie Walsh, Tribune News Service Stop the scroll! Streaming movies at home can be convenient, but it’s also overwhelming, especially during this season, post awards and pre-summer blockbuster. Perhaps there are some under-the-radar films you missed from the past year, or perhaps you’re looking for some quality comfort escapism. Either way, here are a few choice picks that have recently become available — and that you may have missed — to keep in mind for your next at home movie night. The absolutely delightful Robbie Williams biopic “Better Man” didn’t get its fair shakes when it hit theaters in late December/early January. This audacious project following the life story of the Take That bad boy and solo act pop crooner superstar features a CGI-animated monkey as Williams and, shockingly, it works. This musical fantasy directed by Michael Gracey (“The Greatest Showman”) is just so daring and heartfelt that it transcends the conceit, though the monkey gimmick just might be the key to its success. Stream “Better Man” on Paramount+, and then pair it with the three-part Robbie Williams docuseries on Netflix to get a better sense of, well, the man. A few of the Oscar-recognized international features that didn’t win the top prize (that went to Brazil’s “I’m Still Here”) are now available to stream online and are worth a look. Italy’s Oscar submission “Vermiglio” was nominated for a Golden Globe and shortlisted for the international feature Oscar. This sensitively rendered portrait of a remote Italian village at the tail end of World War II delivers a look back in time at a way of life that’s now long gone, with a special emphasis on family and gender dynamics. Director Maura Delpero was inspired to make this film in her own father’s village, and the intimate connection to the place and people is palpable. A true gem. Rent it on iTunes or Amazon. Denmark’s Oscar entry “The Girl with the Needle” was one of the final five films nominated for Best International Feature, and while this is a tough watch, it’s an essential one, especially considering the state of reproductive rights in America. Based on a true crime story from early 20th century Denmark, Magnus von Horn’s horror fairy tale examines the ways in which limiting choice and access to health care can result in cruelty and unimaginable acts. Stream it on Mubi or rent it elsewhere. Another Oscar-nominated film is now available on Disney+ and Hulu. “Sugarcane,” directed by Emily Kassie and Julian Brave Noisecat, who hail from Spokane, is an astonishing film that uncovers atrocities committed at a Canadian Indian residential school. This film swerves away from sensationalism and focuses on the personal affects of this generational trauma on families, and finds hope in exposing these truths to light. It’s a wonderful, searing documentary that ultimately finds healing in its storytelling. Stream it on Hulu and Disney+. Another film that went under the radar last year was the bold “La Cocina,” directed by Mexican filmmaker Alonso Ruizpalacios. Set in a large restaurant kitchen in New York City, the film stars Rooney Mara as a troubled waitress trying to get through her shift at a restaurant while grappling with various personal issues. The large ensemble cast also co-stars Raúl Briones as her chef boyfriend. The black and white cinematography of this film is absolutely astonishing. Rent it on iTunes or Amazon. Finally, if you’re looking for an easy breezy comfort watch, the rom-com “Picture This” on Prime Video is just the ticket. The film stars Simone Ashley of “Bridgerton” Season 2 as a struggling London photographer who has an even worse love life, as she’s hung up on a former flame (Hero Fiennes Tiffin). Her family sets her up on a series of blind dates in advance of her sister’s wedding, only for her to find that love was right in front of her all along. Nikesh Patel from “Starstruck” is another standout supporting actor, playing against type in this charming comedy. Stream it on Prime Video. 13. I have a confession to make . I by mistake threw out the signed Better Man poster I received from RW.com , it went into the recycling , To be fair when it arrived I was annoyed at the fact that they had folded the poser before putting it in the envelope, whoever heard of anyone folding a poster & ending up with creases which just messes up the whole effect, normally you would wrap it around a cardboard insert but what do I know . Anyway it's gone now 🫢

  15. Robbie Williams Instagram Hello bright star, Your mum told me all about you and your story, and it made me think of my own—and how similar we are. When I was at school, I really struggled in lessons. I couldn’t concentrate. I couldn’t sit still. And what they were trying to teach me just seemed so confusing. It felt like a language all of its own—one my ears and mind couldn’t quite understand. I left school with zero confidence in my intelligence. In fact, for the longest time, I thought I was really stupid. As it turns out, I wasn’t the stupid one. School was. Well—at least for people like me and you. They’re trying their best, but for us? We need a different kind of education. Because what we have to offer the world goes way beyond memorising and repeating what we’re taught. Here’s the good news: People like you are the ones who change the world. You think differently. You see things other people can’t. Congratulations on having very special abilities. My wish for you is that you find them—and understand them—as quickly as possible. And believe me, they really are there. Your mum also tells me that you are very, very kind, and that you have a massive heart. On this planet right now, there’s a shortage of people like you. Hold on to that kindness. Let it grow. Let no one—ever—take it away from you. It is the most important thing we have to offer. I’m very proud of you. And I brought a few friends along to send you some cuddles. Hugs, RW x Leave a message for this lovely boy below please x [img] Instagram

  17. Really great to hear that it's done so well there. How long is it since he toured in those countries !!
  18. Being a good rock musician lies at the heart of it; however, there is more to it than that. Rock stars need to embody a sense of rebellion, have an undeniable look, and be willing to take risks, both societal and creative, ready to take whatever criticism comes with them. Rob fits that criteria for sure ✌
  19. I agree with Laura as well, the way it's been done makes no sense . it's very hard to introduce new music in the middle of a tour without the audience having heard the new songs on an album or performed live on tv or social media beforehand. Maybe the album launch date for April as mentioned by Rob way back still stands but he has little time for any promo. He has a gig in Malaga on April 9th, maybe he could introduce a flavour of the new material there & see how they are received. People are expecting to hear new material , I have heard that said many times in the past few months, not just dedicated fans & after spending so much money on tickets etc they are not in a hurry to go back if they are just hearing the same songs over & over again. Months ago I heard Ayda say on Loose Women that he had a lot of health issues so I hope for his own sakes he makes the right decision for his own well being, as Elisabeth says these tours when signed off to go ahead are difficult & expensive to get out of .but I would not like to see a repeat of the 2006 tour ending that we all know about.
  20. originalfibres & Guychambrs Only days after we opened the doors to our Golborne Road shop, British music legend Guy Chambers became one of our first customers. Since then, he’s become a regular, stopping by to top up both his and his son’s wardrobes with natural fibres. With the sun on full blast, it felt like an opportune time to get him in to choose our Spring Sounds Playlist - a dozen songs curated from the OF vinyl and CD collection - to take us through the next few months. It was fantastic to sit down and talk about our shared love for this corner of London - where Guy has his recording studio - and learn more about his storied career in music. From growing up with a Dad in the London Philharmonic Orchestra, to winning the award for composition at the Guildhall School of Music to writing music with Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue and Tina Turner ( to name a few ) it was a conversation rich in musical anecdote and a privilege to hear. All before Guy headed off to Ronnie Scott’s. Of course. We hope you enjoy it. Playlist link in bio. guychambers | Facebook, TikTok | Linktree [img] [img]
