OASIS REUNION REVIEW - ROUND-UP . What the Critics are saying about the Gallagher's Cardiff comeback gig. Story by Katie Rosseinsky The first night of Oasis’s long-anticipated comeback tour has received five star reviews across the board from critics. Liam and Noel Gallagher united on stage at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium last night (4 July) to perform for the first time since their acrimonious 2009 break-up. The Independent’s Mark Beaumont described the gig as “the rock reunion to end them all” and noted the “heartwarming closure” that came with seeing the once-feuding siblings “juxtaposed on side-by-side screen panels”. Having previously seen the band at one of their legendary Knebworth gigs and “on many a post-Nineties slogathon”, Beaumont suggested that “this is the best they’ve been since ‘96”, or “some might say better”. Writing in The Guardian, Alexis Petridis hailed the show as a “triumph” in another five star review, and noted that the show’s setlist was “very much playlist Oasis”, with an emphasis on their first two albums along with “B-sides from the years when Noel Gallagher’s songwriting talent seemed so abundant he could afford to blithely confine stuff as good as ‘Acquiesce’ or ‘The Masterplan’ to an extra track on a CD single”. The Telegraph’s critic Neil McCormick, who also awarded the gig with five stars, said that “nothing had really changed” since the band’s glory days, describing the spectacle as both “ridiculous” and “fantastic”. Despite the high prices that some fans paid for tickets, McCormick said “I don’t think anyone who managed to get their hands on a ticket for this reunion could feel short changed”, because it “was a reunion between an audience and their favourite band, a reunion between Britain and rock and roll”. BBC critic Mark Savage praised the way that Liam “attacked the gig with wild-eyed passion, stalking the stage and biting into the lyrics like a lion tearing apart its prey”, and noted that the younger Gallagher brother sounded “fresh and powerful” after previously grappling with vocal issues as a result of Hashimoto’s disease. Noel, meanwhile, was described as wearing “the studious look of a man trying to remember his National Insurance number”, but Savage conceded that it was still “impossible to take your eyes off” the brothers. The Times’ Will Hodgkinson described the atmosphere in Cardiff ahead of the gig, pinpointing it as “more like a World Cup game than a rock concert” and noting that the “whole city had gone, to use a phrase redolent of Oasis’s heyday, mad for it”. Critics praised Liam Gallagher’s vocals (PA Wire) Hodgkinson noted that the Gallagher brothers “didn’t speak much” while on stage, but said that the “quick hug” between them at the end of the show “means the world”. “Ultimately”, he added, “there was a simple question about the reunion of a simple – in the best way – band. Was it good? Yes, it was fantastic”. NME’s Andrew Trendell, meanwhile, said the band seemed like “Oasis redesigned for the 21st century” with a setlist that “just never relents”. “This is all you ever would have wanted from Oasis in 2025: they look cool, sound f***ing amazing, and they want to be here,” he added, noting that “Liam’s voice hasn’t sounded this good in 20-odd years”. The band are set to perform another gig in Cardiff tonight (5 July) before heading to Heaton Park in their home city of Manchester on 11 July. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/oasis-reunion-review-round-up-what-the-critics-are-saying-about-the-gallaghers-

This was an interview Robbie gave back in April about Oasis & their reunion. It's great to have them back. "nostalgia on steroids" is a good description "Robbie Williams says Oasis reunion tour will be "nostalgia on steroids" 8 April 2025, 10:16 | Updated: 8 April 2025, 11☠️ Photo courtesy of TodayFM Robbie Williams has defended Oasis brothers Liam and Noel. Picture: Dave Hogan, Simon Emmett By Jenny Mensah The Angels singer has given his take on Oasis Live '25 and why he hopes it will be "healing" for the Gallagher brothers. Robbie Williams has talked about the upcoming Oasis reunion dates, predicting that it will be "entertainment at his best". The Angels singer has previously discussed the much-hyped tour, which will see the Gallagher brothers play a series of dates across the globe, including several shows at London's Wembley Stadium and homecoming dates at Manchester's Heaton Park. Speaking to The Mirror about the Britpop legends' upcoming reunion, he said: “Liam’s voice is peerless. And he was, and is the voice of a generation. So I think that for British people – and Manchester – it will be a very important moment. Hopefully it’ll be healing for the lads too.” The Millennium singer went on: “Entertainment, at its best, is liberation. And what I want to do with my gigs is take people on the journey and make them forget about their own lives for a bit. And the great thing about the Oasis reunion is they will facilitate that for people. “But not only that, it will be nostalgia on steroids, and remind us who we were, what we were, how we felt and what we wanted.” Williams also revealed he'd gone back and re-explored the Oasis back catalogue, praising the songwriting and the "bangers" the band have delivered over the years. “I was just looking at those songs, especially the first three years worth of songs, and it’s literally a lifetime and decades worth of bangers created over that three year period. The songwriting is sensational,” he added. It's not the first time Robbie Williams has talked about Oasis reunion, previously predicting that the shows will be "incredible," while making a dig at Noel Gallagher in the process. "The soap opera alone will either be exciting and or ghoulish to watch," he said according to The Mirror. “As for the shows? They’re gonna be incredible, off-the-scale special. Oasis getting back together is going to be a healing moment for our country.” While the 50-year-old singer believes that Liam could make anything interesting and "charismatic," he didn't have much to say for his elder brother Noel, the man responsible for much of the band's discography. "Liam Gallagher reading his phone on the toilet would be more charismatic and intriguing than 99.9% of the world ’s population at their most enigmatic," he went on. "All he has to do is stand there and sing for the audience to be guaranteed their money’s worth. Noel will be there too." Williams also previously talked about his depiction of the Gallagher brothers in his Better Man biopic, which sees him portrayed as a CGI monkey.. Speaking of Liam Gallagher's response in particular, he told NME, "I think that there’ll be a bit of him that’s happy that he exists in it". When the former Take That star asked director Michael Gracey if he shared the script with the Supersonic singer, he replied: "I don’t think Liam’s read it [but] there’s nothing in there that’s not common knowledge" Williams joked: "There’s not anything there that isn’t 100 per cent factual! That’s how he behaved! That’s the person that he was! And in a court of law, it all stands up!" Robbie Williams says Oasis reunion tour will be "nostalgia on steroids" - Radio X

Robbie Williams shares another blue plaque in London to honour Oasis: “Good luck tonight lads”The pop star has recreated the '(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?' cover artwork too, ahead of his former rivals' reunion ByTom Skinner 4th July 2025 Oasis' Liam Gallagher and Robbie Williams at Glastonbury Festival in 1995. CREDIT: Brian Rasic/Getty Images Robbie Williams has unveiled another blue plaque in London to honour his former rivals Oasis, ahead of the band’s return to the stage tonight (July 4). The sign has been ‘installed’ on Berwick Street in Soho – the location of the iconic cover of the Britpop group’s second album, ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?’ (1995). It reads: “Robbie Williams – heard it, saw it, loved it, lived it, wanted it and snorted it… That’s The Story.” Tagging Oasis in the post, Williams wrote in the caption: “GOOD LUCK TONIGHT LADS.” He also recreated the ‘…Morning Glory’ cover artwork. The recreation sees the singer sporting the red tracksuit he wore at Glastonbury 1995 when he partied with Oasis at the height of the Britpop era. WATCH Williams’ upcoming new album, ‘Britpop’, also features him in the same outfit on its cover art. Check out his tribute to Oasis here: Last week saw Williams unveil a blue plaque at Glastonbury 2025 – 30 years on from his visit to the festival in ’95. This led to rumours that he would be making a surprise appearance at this year’s event, but the star quickly confirmed that he was “not performing”. Williams spoke last year about being on tour at the same time as Oasis’ massive reunion shows: “I don’t think anyone could compete with that – including Taylor Swift, who’s the biggest artist on this planet. So no, it’s not a competition, even though it bloody is.”In May, NME asked Williams if he would be attending any of Oasis’ concerts this year. He responded: “Not only will you not be seeing me at any Oasis shows, you will not be seeing me at any shows full stop. I’m a wonderful agoraphobe, and a very happy agoraphobe.” He had previously commented on the reunion, saying: “The soap opera alone will either be exciting and or ghoulish to watch. As for the shows? They’re gonna be incredible, off-the-scale special.” Williams said the comeback would be a “healing moment for our country”. Williams praised the “charismatic” Liam Gallagher as well, before making a slight dig at his older brother: “Noel will be there too.” The pop star jumped in to defend Oasis amid the dynamic pricing ticket controversy last year. A feud between Williams and Oasis ignited when Noel referred to him as “the fat dancer from Take That”. Williams went on to challenge Liam to a £100,000 fight at the 2000 BRIT Awards. In 2022, the singer called the Gallagher brothers “gigantic bullies” but said he was still “a huge fan” of Oasis. Responding to the remarks, Liam explained: “I’ve never bullied anyone in my life I’m a massive piss taker for sure and probably gone a little too far sometimes, but if I’ve ever hurt anyone’s feelings I apologise.” Williams also took a jibe at Liam upon the news of his 2022 return to Knebworth Park, which staged some of Oasis and Williams’ biggest ever shows. Late last year, he shared how he thought Liam and Noel would react to their depiction in his new biopic Better Man. Meanwhile, Noel Gallagher has said Oasis are “sounding huge” ahead of tonight’s first comeback show at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium. Support for the UK and Ireland leg of Oasis Live ’25 comes from Richard Ashcroft and Cast – see the full stage times for Cardiff night one here, and check out the latest weather forecast. In other news, Williams has previewed the forthcoming ‘Britpop’ with the single ‘Rocket’ featuring Black Sabbath‘s Tony Iommi. Robbie Williams shares another blue plaque in London to honour Oasis: "Good luck tonight lads" In other news it is reported that Robbie has been nominated for a Knighthood .
