  1. Yay for Lukaku
  2. Drake would be happy!
  3. I like Belgium but yeah I think their main players are getting too old and think Senegal will win this.
  4. Yes it would have been an apt Christmas #1, but a claymation video changed everything! I prefer it to Flying Pickets 'Only You'. But yeah it owed a lot to that, as perhaps did later vocal harmony hits like Extreme - More Than Words.
  5. I prefer 'Be Mine!' That has the nostalgia!
  6. Not much of a glam rock fan?

Same here thought it was my TV.

Thought it would be Belgium in trouble today not England
  9. Madonna and Cyndi songs I like but are a bit overplayed.
  10. Thomas Dolby - Hyperactive! Frankie Goes To Hollywood - Relax Shannon - Let The Music Play Eurythmics - Here Comes The Rain Again Nena - 99 Red Balloons ------------------------------ Break Machine - Street Dance Rockwell - Somebody's Watching Me Ultravox - One Small Day Thompson Twins - Doctor Doctor Queen - Radio Ga Ga Fiction Factory - (Feels Like) Heaven Hyperactive! is so fun in video and sound. Relax sounds big, anthemic stadium rock and synthpop mixed. Shannon is very cool and ahead of time with that acid house style production. Here Comes The Rain is really nice orchestral synthpop I have liked for a long time. 99 Red Balloons I have also liked for a long time and when it speeds up is great. 'Street Dance' is another good dance tune, the 'drop' in place of the chorus is quite modern sounding! Rockwell fun too. Ultravox One Small Day is another good track. 'Doctor Doctor' better than 'Hold Me Now' for me. Gaga overplayed but good, and Fiction Factory have a lovely, if dreary vocally song. Prefer the Dario G cover!
  11. Proclaimers
  12. I liked Promises and Louder at the time, the end of Louder is great. As for Promises, the production of the verses has quite a bit of 80s synthpop and trance influence as well as the dubstep drop. The melodic dubstep and synthpop combo likewise with Sub Focus ft Alpines - Tidal Wave which was very good too.
  13. Yay his Travis/early Coldplay sounding track (with a hint of Fergie - Big Boys Don't Cry in parts of the vocal).
  14. Horny '98 by Mousse T I think, the lyrics were embarrassing. Everybody Hurts by REM and Elton John - Can You Feel The Love Tonight made me cry as a child.
  15. Netherlands 2-1 Morocco Ivory Coast 1-1 Norway France 3-1 Sweden Mexico 2-0 Ecuador England 3-0 DR Congo Belgium 0-1 Senegal USA 2-0 Bosnia and Herzegovina Spain 2-1 Austria Portugal 1-1 Ghana Switzerland 0-0 Algeria
  16. South Africa were very negative in tactics so I am glad Canada won.
  17. Brazil 3-1 Japan Germany 0-0 Paraguay Netherlands 2-1 Morocco Ivory Coast 1-1 Norway
  18. South Africa 0 Canada 0
  19. Proclaimers - sorry its overplayed in media and also not a 2000s song.
  20. Not a good week. God no at Alan Walker using a cheap Carmina Burana O Fortuna interpolation. Diplo is my fave but it shamlessly rips off the ending of Katseye - Pinky Up lol.
  21. We were just talking about The Communards in Rollo's 1986 thread and now here's another song they covered at #1 for you. No sign of Prospa/Cloonee - Free Your Mind with uncredited Sybil...
  22. Hugel - Move to the Sun is a rare pan-European dance hit, we don't have them much any more sadly.
  23. Its a bit slushy lyrically I can see why Madonna doesn't like the song any more. Definitely the weakest of her 80s #1s.
