Kygo was only at the very end of the EDM Golden Era I thought the Golden Era was 2011- early 2015
  3. It sounds like a mix of Simply Red and John Newman.
  4. I remember I was on holiday before Christmas as I think I remember seeing that Leona won the X Factor on the airport newspaper front pages. Clubland style dance made a comeback in the second half of 2006 with Cascada and Micky Modelle/Jessy, after a lesser year in 2005. I still didn't like that sort of dance at the time so preferred the likes of Boogie 2Nite and PATT Party All The Time. The latter is a late hit to the mid 00s 80s remix trend. I suppose Cascada's cover of Truly Madly Deeply allowed them to have longevity in their chart career - I prefer 'Miracle'. I don't think I have heard much their song 'Bad Boy' that you mention. The Girls Aloud cover sounds quite Uniting Nations/Sunblock production-wise. Thats the second 00s Christmas chart (after Pascal/Karen Parry's eurotrance version in 2002) that had a cover of Tiffany's 'I Think We're Alone Now' in it. The 2002 one is more nostalgic. 'My Love' by Justin Timberlake and TI is great loved it at the time, also the drop sounds like 2013-4 EDM trap ahead of its time. Chris Cornell's Bond theme is very good too. The Buzzjack quotes from the time are very interesting.

I don't know if you have seen it before on here but there's a rumour that the song was originally called 'Last Easter' :heehee:
  6. She doesn't have an official video for TST only the lips one.

It's mostly the NOTION remix of it that's popular I think, and it is a lot less basic.
  8. With the help of some dog videos set to it on Tiktok!

    So boring and predictable :(
  10. The top search engine Lola Young until about a week ago was I think the Baroness Lola Young of Hornsey!
  11. Happy birthday Sailor Twift!
  12. DHT and Edmee's version of 'Listen To Your Heart' is quite nostalgic. The Hound Dogs track is like a mix of influences from the Studio B hit earlier in the year and also the disco house sound that I like which was popular at the time. Despite this, it is in my opinion not one of the best examples of dance at the time because of the awful lyrics. Mary J's 'Be Without You' apparently stayed in the top 75 for a long time because of a popular dance remix.

Didn't like 'Alibi' probably because I revere the original sample. The chorus of 'Beautiful Things' was very unbeautiful.
  14. Set Adrift on Memory Bliss! :music:
  15. Speaking of Tate, her 'its ok i'm ok' is above '2 hands' in the chart so I wonder which one will get a reset, hoping for both or the former which I considerably prefer.

Could do with a dance remix, I am thinking minimal house or garage, maybe I will ask our Rocketdaan.
  17. OK Gladiator ft Izzy - Now We Are Free, from May 2004. but on Spotify its just Gladiator - Now We Are Free. https://open.spotify.com/track/4nCgPb8HKqGA...733703e2e4f4ffb
  18. Electro production kind of sounds very 2007.
  19. Nay, man, nay, man, nay, man Has some good buildups especially in the full length version but I am bored of the organ house drop its in too many new dance songs at the moment.

'I Dont Wanna Wait' is generic and not very good but the chorus annoyingly catchy. 'That's So True' I like and find rather charming, can see how the 'Oh wait I hate her' bit could be found annoying though. I prefer it to her other hit 'I Love You, I'm Sorry' which I find boring. 'Lose Control' I never really liked much, I mean it is technically very good vocal wise but I have heard that vocal style before with Alex Clare (on a better song) and Rag N'Bone Man.

I liked 'Timeless' because the beep synths in it reminded me a bit of Alice Deejay. The NewEra song isn't very good agreed, there was at least a version with some humorous Irish rap (Protein Bor remix). 'Thick of It' is generic production-wise but I liked the song.
  22. That Tyla song sounds good on first listen there; good that it will probably be another new New Year hit.
  23. Beyond bored of 'Dont Stop Believing'. 'Who's Crying Now' needs its time in the sun.
  24. The Baroness Lola Young indeed. 'Messy' is a catchy song.
