  1. 'Once' I didn't like, the chorus was too repetitive. Preferred the follow up single. 'We No Speak Americano' was good at the start but I got bored of it being on the music channels too much. All those plus Doop - Doop obviously starting it in 1994! Yeah I really liked that Caravan Palace song and wished it would have been a hit. Don't forget about Caro Emerald in the early 2010s too! Also Sailor - Girls Girls Girls is a song from the 70s I discovered that kinda had that sound too.
  2. Its not a sample of Loletta Holloway or Eddie Thoneick who had songs with that title?!

You are more a Ministry of Mayhem guy (that was the successor show to SM:TV)?! I remember both but more SM:TV!
  4. They do and there are new songs in that style on tiktok Find 'boom boom lcm project' on TikTok | TikTok Search https://vm.tiktok.com/ZNRnuM311/ Only problem is they are probably AI songs.
  5. Good #1. Not a massive fan of 'Anything' by Culture Beat much, it a bit novelty sounding, their first two hits were way better, same with 'I Miss You' by Haddaway. 'Cornflake Girl' has a great piano riff and chorus. 'All For Love' is a bit over the top but good.
  6. I like it, the drop is like early 2020s Slap House era nostalgia.
  7. 'The Real Thing' has great production, I like the progressive house/techno vibes. 'Let Me Be Your Fantasy' is also a good emotive dance tune.
  8. Not a great week but I voted for Tiesto. Don't like much either of the tiebreak, one is too indie and grim for me vocally and the other too basic but voted for KETTAMA. Best dance song of the week in New Music Friday is Freefall by Angrybaby and Evalina.
  9. Tinman - Eighteen Strings is great fun too - mix of 90s indie and dance!
  10. Nah for me. Its like Omar+'s songs but without as many interesting techno synths.
  11. Ultravox already used the Lord's Prayer for their hit Hymn in 1982!
  12. Its not as good as Omar+'s sound he uses more techno synths.
  13. 'Forget You' was good but yeah way overplayed on the radio/music channels. Keeping 'Shame' by Gary and Robbie off #1 wasn't a shame, not one of their best songs. 'Bright Lights Bigger City' from Cee Lo's album was great like a Bond theme tune. 'Anyway' and also 'Satisfied' from his album were very nice too.
  14. Yeah 'Missing You' is one of their best songs.
  15. I suppose the idea behind D:Ream was have them as an actual band who could perform live unlike most dance in the mid 90s on TOTP that was performed by singer and dancers. It also probably had lots of crossover appeal at the time for those who remember upbeat euphoric disco/new wave like it in the late 70s and early 80s. I like Things Can Only Get Better.... but 'U R The Best Thing' (Perfecto Radio Mix) is better for me as it has a great euphoric backing vocalist in the chorus.
  16. 'Club Cant Handle Me' is very poppy dance in production but the chorus is great! It's like how 'Green Light' by Roll Deep was saved by a great pop chorus.

Discovered this on the viral !!! playlist, it reminds me of Mimi Webb - House on Fire!
  18. It sounds like today's Beatport tech house producers were influenced by the basic production of 'King Of My Castle'. I am not a big fan, prefer the other more complex dance music around in 1999-2000.
  19. We had LNM Project's version in the 2005 chart!
  20. For Dina Carroll, its like today's charts with the two songs of the same popular artist in the top 10. Chaka Demus and Pliers sound like a electrician company and I like some of their songs but the Twist and Shout cover was not needed. Take That - Babe is not one of my faves.
  21. Just no at the Bryan Adams song title! JX is great though.
  22. 'For Whom The Bell Tolls' should have been Christmas #1 great song although it is a sad song. I remember it playing in a shopping centre when I was younger in the 90s.
  23. No I prefer progressive/trance from Becky Hill. Hopefully at least one such song will be on her album. Its a pity that Surrender with Alesso wasn't a hit.
  24. Don't know anything about the players but its about time Brazil won again.
  25. Haddaway's hits are great apart from I Miss You. Motiv 8 - Rockin' For Myself is a great tune and was entered into BJSC! Slo Moshun - Bells Of N.Y is one of the most interesting piano house tunes.
