  1. There will probably be less dance songs on it than the Viral UK one. Kitty Hall - Puff Puff Pass is on it though. PinkPantheress' new song sampling Romeo Basement Jaxx is on too. I usually like PinkPantheress but that one just made me want to listen to the original.
  2. Thats a pity I enjoyed following the viral 50 because it was more interesting than the main chart and yes it did sometimes predict future hits. Do we have AI songs to thank for this removal?
  3. "We've said goodbye, the taxi cab is waiting." Yes Robbie's distinctive voice is all over this track. A nice track. @Colm reviewed this track recently and your ranking is considerably more positive lol.

Kisstory is going? It was a good brand, they don't have to copy Radio 1 with the 'Anthems' spin off.

CB used to mean Clean Bandit on this forum!
  6. Love Is Kind
  7. I like 'Beautiful Monster', its better, cooler, less whiny and has aged better than his 2012 #1 'Let Me Love You..' . The strong influence from Josh Wink - Higher State of Conciousness in the production of the verses of 'Beautiful Monster' makes it rather cool and interesting too. You mention the EDM/R&B blend and there was a lot of EDM-R&B blend between mid-2010 and 2013. Beautiful Monster was one of the first because Stargate are Norwegian and were well used to the electronic dance sound in Europe.
  8. The #1 is decent enough and a bit of fun. 'Go West' though also deserved a week at #1. 'Moving On Up' by M People is a bit generic but still a classic probably their most played song. I think Haddaway - Life is very good, the synths are almost like early 80s synth new wave in production but with a house beat, it reminds me a bit of Talk Talk by Talk Talk.
  9. Hopefully enough fans of different countries will vote 10 times for it to be somewhat competitive. If Israel dont get in the top 2 the fandom might recover next year. I dont get why you are allowed to vote 10 times in Eurovision anyway! "The feeling has gone, only you and I, it means nothing to me This means nothing to me Oh, Vienna"
  10. I think D Train - Music is very good, its electronic and has almost got an early house music vibe. 8 minutes is a bit long though! Blind Vision by Blancmange iss a bit of an epic new wave/dance tune with female vocal like Heaven 17 - Temptation.
  11. Saved by good nostalgic chorus vocals in both songs I think!
  12. And preferable to UB40 on their own with a dreary Elvis cover at #1 in 1993.
  13. Compared to the other reggae hits of 1993-4, it sounds quite 2-tone ska and very 1980 production-wise so maybe this had an older audience too and is a bit retro-revival. Its a pleasant listen but I prefer the other 90s reggae hits!
  14. Now for me I am glad we are off the X Factor connected ones now! Apart from the sexualised lyrics this is good upbeat R&B in production and a decent club tune. It's from March and still sounds very 2009, I prefer when things went more EDM influenced later in the year.
  15. It makes me nostalgic for the Mad'house cover which was good compared to this.
  16. Pet Shop Boys version of Go West I have fond memories of - the music video was on music channels a lot even later in the 90s and I liked it. Never knew the song was about going to San Francisco though! I do prefer it to the Village People original ________________________________________ Radiohead - Creep their best known song, just iconic if a bit depressing!
  17. The Marillion and Mezzoforte (last batch) songs with the same name! And yes I have found another early 00s dance sample - Forbidden Colours for Watergate Heart of Asia.
  18. Just listened to it and its great!
  19. Glad Mr Vain got a couple of weeks at the top. We need a revival of that sort of dance music now! Its deeper lyrically than their other songs.
  20. Paul Young - Wherever I Lay My Hat (That's My Home) Freeez - I.O.U. The Cure - The Walk Eurythmics - Who's That Girl? Malcolm McLaren - Double Dutch Mike Oldfield - Moonlight Shadow Ultravox - We Came To Dance The Paul Young song has the atmospheric 80s ballad vibes of an early Cars - Drive I think! IOU is an early house-pop precursor track! The Walk is good (a bit Blue Monday-ish) apart from 1 line. I think some of the synths in the song inspired Addison Rae - Fame Is A Gun! Who's That Girl is a third good Eurythmics single. Double Dutch is fun, summery and has a lot of South African influence in the music. Moonlight Shadow a good classic and also was covered as a Eurotrance song by Groove Coverage in the early 00s. Ultravox We Came To Dance melody reminds me of ABBA - The Winner Takes It All.
  21. It's gotta be Spandau Gold this time too! EDIT: not released yet This is going so fast. I am not even at the Synctube sessions but still like to vote for it. I am happy Temptation and Love Is A Stranger did well in the poll.
  22. I was thinking 1 week low top 40 on Official Chart but I don't think it will even do that now. Commercial dance scene isn't that big anymore.
  23. There was great music in the chart in October 1994 and then there was 'Sure'. Understandably rather forgotten in Take That's discography.
