Friday Chart Predictions
I like the chorus it's catchy, well until 'And I can't have fun if I can't have you' brings back bad memories of 'ME'!

Not doing this any more? :(

The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1993
Cappella - U Got To Know is very Felix - Do You Want Me and very euphoric! Great. Sub Sub really sounds like an early precursor to the late 90s disco house wave. Jade - Dont Walk Away is a nice R&B song, worlds apart from the brash and loud Diplo and Sleepy Tom remix. But I like both in their own way.

Capital FM Playlist 2026
I actually really like James Hype - Be Mine now it has some good buildups and I'm glad its been added to the main Capital playlist.

The UK Top 40 singles of the 1980s: listening sessions + polls: next session 23 August
Joe Jackson - Steppin' Out Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This) Tears For Fears - Change Depeche Mode - Get The Balance Right Prince - 1999 Icehouse - Hey Little Girl Thompson Twins - Love On Your Side Rockers Revenge Featuring Donnie Calvin - The Harder They Come Echo and the Bunnymen - The Cutter Laura Branigan - Gloria Once again I go for the more up-tempo synthpop productions. Steppin' Out is sublime. 1999 is really influential - the start of the synth R&B/dance 80s, which I prefer to early 80s disco. Depeche and Tears For Fears uptempo but darker. For Icehouse's song it used to be a massive fave for me - I really like the dance focused production but I now realise the lyrical themes have aged badly. Rocker's Revenge - The Harder They Come is a good song with a nice bit of acid house reminiscent bassline. Thompson Twins' debut definitely their best song for me.

I thought Joel Corry/RAAH would be top 200 on Apple but I guess they haven't been added to the playlists yet.

Jester ranks the number 1s of 1987
'I Just Can't Stop Loving You' is not bad, but not as good as the rest of 'Bad'! 'Call Me' is cheesy and a bit generic for the time but still charming and good along with much of the Italo-disco genre. The synth riff in place of the chorus is a bit different though, reminds me a bit of late 2010s dance-pop especially M22 & Medina - First Time.

Dance Track of the Week: Week 16
Voted for John Summit channeling Anyma. But gosh I wish it had a bit more energy to it (I am used to the 2010s style festival progressive house genre)

Ruin a 20th Century song title by changing one letter... a game for all!

No, the original is overplayed and I would prefer if The Corrs/Todd Terry version or Deep Dish/Stevie Nicks or even the Guetta/Morten/Lanie version became popular instead for a change.

The Pop Factor: Season 2 • The Grand Final: Part One
Thought for a second this was the ruin a song title by changing one letter thread there! But no the song actually exists!

The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1993
Robin S - Show Me Love is a big influential classic. Elsewhere, a bit cheesy and dated S/A/W style production but vocally quite sweet and lovely - When I'm Good And Ready.
-
10 Years of Dobago: A Reflection
10 years of Drinidad and Dobago!
-
Joel Corry & RAHH - Devotion (Sweetest Emotion)
Indeed. I miss M-I-K-Double E!

They're justified and they're ancient.

The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1993
'Young At Heart' is so nostalgic I remember it from the radio in the 90s because of this 1993 revival. 'Cats In The Cradle' is a good moody rock song.
-
Alex Warren - FINE PLACE TO DIE
I am not really into that song title about death. He is following Sienna Spiro's gloominess in Die On This Hill and then her line 'I Want to be Remembered' on The Visitor.

Eurovision 2026 Final odds/betting thread
A summary of the UK entry too I think! Just listened to the Greece entry and it's not too annoying to me in a Pinky Up world!

Round 8 : End Of Year Survivor #140
Voted for Shania - its not one of her best. Dave Lee (and Taka Boom) to win!
-
Anyma & LISA - Bad Angel
I really like it. I think it has similar chorus structure to Calvin Harris and Kasabian - Release The Pressure with the minimal first drop then trance style build up synths.
