Other Radio Playlists
Beat is jumping and the bass go round often at the moment! (Morgan Seatree + Carla Monroe). Basic but still a decent tune. I am also hearing unfortunately the inferior Get Of My Head NOTION remix, and better the Hannah Laing Stomp Your Feet, and they do play drum and bass sometimes too. Need more melodic/emotive dance too like trance, progresssive house which I don't hear on the station.

The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1993
I prefer the Jesus Jones song of the three new top 10 entries. Take That good longevity.

How Did They Get So Big? The YouTube channel where we dig deep into the reasons why things became so popular
And you could do how debut hits for artists became big too of course, particularly recent songs! That would be good on the chart forum here too!

Julian rates every Top 40 hit: the 1980s edition
I like Blue Zoo with the new wave/indie disco sound! Will miss seeing songs like that (and Talk Talk by Talk Talk and Classix Nouveaux - Is It A Dream and Associates - Club Country) in the chart for 1983, the electronic new wave/indie disco mix sound kind of isn't around as much in 1983 charts. Living On The Ceiling is kind of that sound as well, but also sounds a bit influenced by Monsoon - Ever So Lonely and Indian music and the beats are very similar to later house music. Maneater's iconic and a bit of a dance track too.

The Strokes - Reality Awaits
And I was just saying yesterday how Jane! by The Long Faces reminded me of the Strokes. I know the Strokes most from their 2011 Angles Radio 1 and MTV Rocks playlisted era really. Under Cover Of Darkness and Taken For A Fool were amazing.

The Long Faces - Jane!
It's very The Strokes reminscent!
-
Dimension & bbyclose - Once In A Lifetime
Bit of a Matrix and Futurebound style revival track.
-
Joel Corry & RAHH - Devotion (Sweetest Emotion)
Prefer the original but this is a decent update.

DaTilt's 100 Favourite UK Top 20 Hits of 1991
For Touch Me (All Night Long) I know it more through the Angel City cover. Decent song even if its very of its time. Live Your Life Be Free was also sampled for a few dance songs. Extreme's More Than Words is better than Mr Big's To Be With You which very much followed the formula for it!

Artist name goals!

House Tour
At least she's still making music videos, it sad whats happened with the Billboard Hot 100 not including youtube streams any more.

John's 1976 Original Charts
The electronic intro of Silver Machine definitely the best part! 'Runaway' possibly the most epic 50s track. Why does Sailors' Girls Girls Girls remind me of Eurovision's Electro Velvet lol!

Becky Hill - >>>hands on me<<<
A bit of a Nero sound to the drop very bass heavy! And not very Radio 2.

Scott Mills sacked from BBC Radio 2 over 'personal conduct'
Its weird because Neil Fox in 2014 was sacked by Magic well before being officially charged! Fox was found not guilty of course.

Friday Chart Predictions
About some of the newer top 100 update songs, 'Actin' Tough' by Dean Turnley's production is grim, just really basic. The two Chris Stussy tracks are significantly better. Especially Wide Awake which is quite euphoric by today's chart dance standards. Free Your Mind by Prospa is decent enough although not really my sort of dance. Don't Go by Tre Reynolds (and Wretch 32) is a OK remix of a good song but basic production wise. The Ye tracks are interesting production-wise especially Father. Jean by Long Faces is a nice upbeat indie Strokes like track.

OCC: RAYE's top 20 biggest songs revealed!
She probably disowns most of her dance collabs especially 'Bed'. Hopefully not all as 'Secrets' was her most interesting one production-wise.

Dance Track of the Week 2026: Week 13
Not a great week but I voted for 'Down To The Bone' which thankfully isn't as basic and minimal as its title suggests.

I guess its kind of nostalgic!

2026 US/Israel war with Iran, Supreme Leader dead
I still think Trump will end it soon for economic damage limitation and will agree to peace terms (and call it a victory).

Colm Rates and Ranks the YTD Numbers 11 to 20 for Each Year of the 1990s
The taxi cab is waiting! Robbie's voice is as distinctive as it always is. Yeah as with the chorus of 'Pray', 'Everything Changes' is rather dated because its uses those cheesy Stock Aitken Waterman style chime synths. Still a pleasant enough listen though! As for 'Please Forgive Me', you are right it is a pleasant enough song.

Radio 2 Playlist 2026
No Bebe Rexha and Faithless on the playlist? Thought they would fit in if they have the new J Lo and Guetta song!
