JADE - Angel of My Dreams • 1st Single
Didnt think she would call herself simply 'JADE' because of 'Don't Walk Away' Jade.

The BMRB Years- The Top 10 Sales
Body Talk is similar style of slow funk to Musclebound by Spandau but a better song I think, and more synths - I first discovered Body Talk on an electronic 80s Ministry of Sound compilation. Bad Manners version of Can Can is just so fun with the fairground synths.

Group B
Both Italy and Croatia have been disappointing so far so I don't know who will win in their match. Can see Albania who have played well so far defending well and making it difficult for Spain.

Group A
Yeah I think a lot of people are being harsh on Scotland. I just think the Hungary midfield and defence were superior/had a better night hence the lack of scoring opportunities for Scotland.

'All Stood Still' by Ultravox is a good fun synthpop and guitar dance track, certainly way different to Vienna. 'Ghost Town' is good and atmospheric, its often described as a good social commentary track too.

UK Cancelled Singles of the 90s & 00s
Mostly songs from after each artist started flopping in the charts. :( I think Fragma should have continued having UK hits in 2002-3 as their trancepop sound was still popular in the charts. I see 3 of a Kind had a cancelled follow up in early 2005 too. A few others from a few months after UK one hit wonder songs from Safri Duo, DJ Alligator Project and ATC.

Another disappointing tournament for Poland.

Yeah I mentioned King - Love and Pride which made #2 in the UK chart in early 1985 but maybe thats a bit too poppy to be new wave and could just go into a future '80s pop' edition.

The BMRB Years- The Top 10 Sales
I prefer the single before it, The Freeze, good synths in it. Musclebound is good though, the production is more like Imagination type Britfunk.

Julian rates every 21st century Top 40 hit
I remember the funky riff from that Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg song from when I was younger. The Safri Duo song is just brilliant and the Dario G song is nostalgic. Never heard that song before. 'Loco' and 'Chase the Sun' though  and one of my favourite U2 songs.

That looks like a good selection, don't know quite a few of those tracks especially the late 70s ones so I will have to listen to them. Hoped Planet Earth, Is It A Dream and The Quiet Life would have made it but maybe they will be on Synthpop.

That Toyah track - I can't help but sing along to the euphoric chorus. Good synths in it too.

Rollin' my favourite of the lot. I don't know many of those other songs. Safri and the late Dario G surely will be top of the next batch.

Adam Port? He should have collabed with Ferry Corsten on a dance sea shanty.

Bette Davis Eyes sounds way more mid 80s than early 80s in my opinion.

You should maybe do Synthpop next given that its main era is a similar time period. I could help with it if you want.

Julian rates every 21st century Top 40 hit
I prefer 'No Good 4 Me' as its more bassline focused, like a slightly less poppy precursor to late 2007-2008's chart bassline garage revival such as T2 - Heartbroken.

The BMRB Years- The Top 10 Sales
Stand and Deliver is a way better song from Adam and the Ants. The REO song is a bit too MOR for my liking. The Tenpole Tudor song is quite good but I prefer the follow up Wunderbar! 'Chequered Love' is also quite good but not one of my favourite Kim Wilde songs.

I'm hoping Blue Zoo's UK top 40 one hit wonder makes it, as well as Classix Nouveaux's. The Japan (band) song that is most new wavey for me is their debut hit, same for Duran imo. For Associates I prefer Club Country and I know Rollo likes that one too. Maybe some mid 80s new wave like King and Hollywood Beyond although there wasnt much by that stage in the mid 80s. I hope Pat Benetar Love Is A Battlefield makes it, fab vocal and production.
