  1. Yeah it sounds a nice song, Indila - Love Story is my favourite French song though so beautiful and I discovered it through being sampled in the excellent chart hit What You Saying by Lil Uzi Vert. Another good one recent French hit in the UK charts is Ma Meillure Ennemie by Stromae.
  2. Fire Wire still sounds relevent as an example of the hard trance that Blackpink and Katsye brought back at the end of Jump and Pinky Up.
  3. Release date is a bit late. I suppose we could get a warm and sunny September though. Hopefully this will be more chart friendly than Becky's recent solo stuff.
  4. 'Bom Bom' is fun and very Eurovision, and has some of its time dubstep production to it. 'Part of Me' is a decent enough song. I don't return to listen to either song though much.
  5. Divine and Hazell Dean high energy dance is very welcome! Yeah it took me a while to come round to liking Divine's vocal style. I am a big fan of Italo disco (we will get a fee more hits from it over the next few years of this) and Self Control is very good in both versions but Laura is the better singer than Raf obviously. On the Wings Of Love is cheesy but I actually quite like as a early example of an 80s power ballad.
  6. I think its really good anyway it hits hard as an emotive track and I like most of the vocal range that she uses in the song. Maybe she could do without some of the hiccuping bits. The "I'm so glad I made it out" bit is a real hands in the air moment though!
  7. the buildup part of Tiesto Adagio For Strings? maybe I am just confusing it with wall of sound.
  8. Depend what sort of 'wall of noise' it is, it was a term used in the 60s to describe some Phil Spector songs. Also in the early 70s Wizzard had a wall of noise technique with loads of instruments all playing, including in their Christmas song. and then in the 00s and 10s there was trance/EDM wall of noise too. And then there's just noise music which I am guessing is the one Colm chose.

The sombr song does sound like Travis/early Coldplay so does have a Heart FM sound! Agreed Die On This Hill and the Ariana track are gloomy.
  10. No need to Bragg!
  11. No! An important early fast dance song on the 1984 Hi-NRG scene which was big in that year! Btw on the subject of Hi-NRG I wonder what y'all think of Divine, I like their music after initially not liking the vocal style! (I haven't gone to the synctube sessions yet sadly)
  12. The instrumental sounds like it was recorded underwater. If this is the new thing that makes it sound modern then count me out.
  13. Yeah voted Dane but its not a bad song.
  14. they have the best tourist board slogan - Malaysia. Truly Asia.
  15. I'm a bit confused as its a different Sunblock song in the video compared to the poll. 'First Time' is better and nostalgic.
  16. Already said that along with Its On Again by Alicia Keys and Kendrick Lamar!
  17. Haven't heard the new songs but there have in the past been two great Spider-Man universe songs Chad Kroeger ft Josey Scott - Hero and then Alicia Keys ft Kendrick Lamar - Its On Again - these new ones are unlikely to top those.
  18. The Calling Wherever You Will Go was big in X Factor early 2010s era especially after the Charlene Soraia cover. Is it not big on streaming now?

    This from 2005 was better:
  20. Beautiful South - Song For Whoever is very 90s Wet Wet Wet ballad precursor with the harmonies, but with humour! Transvision Vamp - Baby I Don't Care is very post-punk - it sounds like it could be from 1980 if you didn't know! London Boys - London Nights is great fun early eurodance. Beatmasters and MC Merlin - Who's In The House is great fun too.
  21. Renee and Renato - Save Your Love too, which I now respect for reviving the early 50s sound of the early charts.
  22. She Drives Me Crazy, Buffalo Stance and Good Life are the best songs on the album.
  23. I liked this and Promise This both well produced. Whistle isn't good, I only liked the Can You Blow My cover that made the top 40 for a week.

Audience Testing? So on-air they ask listeners if they like the song or not and they reply on social media....Cool!
