  1. One Direction's 2nd album on course to overtake total sales of their first album in the next couple of months. Also, Pink will hopefully get the million next week

The HMV 25% promotion is now on. Loads of stuff reduced, but not new releases and the current sales stuff.
  3. Just imagine if JT stops Britney from being no. 1...
  4. Tom Odell album only in June? Surely that will be brought forward to capitalise on his Brits appearance
  5. Was Taylor's The Moment I Knew album only? Anybody know why it is doing well now?
  6. How does the pre-order work? If you order the album now, do you pay the 99p now and then the balance when the album is released? Otherwise, what is to stop you cancelling the pre-order and keeping the song for free?
  7. It's great to see Bowie and Bon Jovi in the top 10. Just goes to show that the big radio stations like R1 and Capital don't have complete control of what charts.
  8. The difference is that You Da One wasn't very good. Only Girl and What's My Name were released close together and were both successful

Tom Odell is nothing like Ed Sheeran. It's just a lazy comparison as they are both male solo singers
  10. Is a video being released for Stay? If so, I imagine it will peak when this is released

I like Tom Odell but I'm not sure his stuff is commercial enough for huge success
  12. MDNA has been on offer in various places for £3 for a while one and has made no progress so I don't think it will do much in the new year
  13. The Killers are really flopping hard this time around in the US - it's a shame because it is a strong album
  14. Surely there are no more potential singles on this album? So once the Brits and Mothers Day effect has worn off, she will probably start falling.
  15. Really?? The "WHY DON'T YOU GIVE UP" comment wasn't bitchy? It's like saying to a stranger that they are useless at their job and should give up. But we all know that people can be complete cowards on the internet and hide behind silly usernames, saying things they would never say in real life.

Maybe it's a generational thing but I could never compare the thrill of getting a new cd full of music by an artist I love to getting some shower gel.

What other decent Christmas presents cost less than £10?

I genuinely don't think £10 is too much to spend on a new release. As has been pointed out, cds have actually decreased in price over the past 15 years, even with inflation. And album sales are down due to illegal downoads.

The problem is of course that HMV charge higher prices as they have to to stay in business. I genuinely don't think they are "ripping people off" as is often claimed, they just have far larger overheads than the online retailers that they need to cover. Also, supermarkets can have lower margins on cds as they make their money on other products. Having said that though, I was surprised that in Tesco the top 10 cds are £10, the same as HMV.
  20. Strange how Rihanna is still moving up nearly 2 days after the performance.
  21. Fact is, I bought her album - I counted the number of songs that were singles, and came to 7 (although Read All About It is still under discussion). 7 singles on an album with her name on the cover. Therefore I am saying that she has released 7 singles from the album.
  22. It's a Labrinth and Emeli Sande song that is on both their albums. And I didn't understand the last bit.
  23. I don't understand why people say that BYB isn't a single from OVOE. It got released at the exact same time that the deluxe version came out. It wasn't "tacked on" at the end at all. It's been the main selling point from the rerelease and is featured on all the adverts.
  24. They're both on the deluxe version of her album, so they're her singles, even if they are shared. And Read All About It charted in the top 5 and it will go down as one of the most popular songs of 2012.I'm sure most people regard it as a single, even if it wasn't officially designated as one.
  25. Given that Clown is the 8th single off the album, it's unsurprising that it isn't doing too well.
