Somebody in Popjustice said that signed singles are no longer eligible to chart - does anybody know if this is true?

Weirdly the entire 4 track Troye remix package is going for 59p on iTunes. I assume it’s a mistake.

I assume that for ACR the streams are only halved for the purpose of the charts? So when calculating her total sales for certification purposes the full streaming numbers will be taken into account?

I’m surprised that we don’t seem to have any remixes out tomorrow. It’s going into its seventh week now, dropping a new remix every week could really help the songs chart position.

Switch Disco are only 200 behind and have stronger streaming so I think she will drop to no 8 tomorrow.

I’d say no 5 - with around 10k U.K. streams coming from the extended mix (it’s getting around 44k global streams a day), that already puts her at around no 16 when combined on Spotify. If streams gradually rise again this week, and a well timed remix is released next week to boost her streams further (and add to her digital numbers), and a 7” released at the same time, I’d say the 30k needed to go top 5 should be achievable. I guess it really depends on what they decide to release and when. Like they could have chucked all the remixes out last week and the cassettes, and released a 7” (which I presume they’re holding out on) and it probably would currently be top 5.

Ah yes Tattoo is now no 1 on iTunes, I was wondering where the boost came from.

How is Magic only one above Musics Too Sad? The total streams for Magic are over 40m and Musics Too Sad less than a fifth of that.

Kylie really has surprised me, nearly 4 days in the top 2. Her singles usually have dropped out the top 10 by now.

Looks like Ellie/Calvin will have another week at no 1.

I mean she’s got the no 1 on lock, I wonder if she’ll be able to hang onto the top 3.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Arctic Monkeys get to no 1 on release week and Taylor the following week. I think her streams will hold up a lot better than Arctic Monkeys, especially on week 2. Assuming there are no other big releases the following week of course.

It's hardly surprising that Ed has moved ahead of Adele given we haven't had anything from Adele for months. We haven't even had a remix from the last 2 albums, let alone multiple big name collaborations to be added on to Spotify to boost album sales.

The webstore vinyl went on sale at midnight and was sold out first thing this morning. I think physical sales are going to be massive plus he’s huge on streaming so I’ve gone for 100 - 130k.

With the lead single “As it Was” streaming more the than lead Adele single in its first hour on Spotify, expectations are high for the first week sales, and this is definitely the first blockbuster album of 2022. But what will the first week sales be? His last album opened with 49,092 sales, and for context Ed Sheeran, Adele and Abba did 139,107, 261,856 and 203,909 respectively last year.
