South Africa have won their first international trophy by beating Australia.
England have named their side for tomorrow's test, Bethell will have to wait for his chance.

South Africa are currently in a strong position against Australia in the World Test Championship final.
England women have announced the squad for the T20s against India. The ODI squad will be announced later.
England's T20 squad to face India: Nat Sciver-Brunt (captain), Em Arlott, Tammy Beaumont, Lauren Bell, Alice Capsey, Charlie Dean, Sophia Dunkley, Sophie Ecclestone, Lauren Filer, Amy Jones, Paige Scholfield, Linsey Smith, Danni Wyatt-Hodge, Issy Wong.
Sophie Ecclestone has returned at the expense of Sarah Glenn. I am hoping Paige will get a chance to shine with the senior squad. She was in the squad last time, but didn't feature. I was impressed a couple of seasons ago in the Hundred.

Hoping Sunderland win as one side of the family comes from the North East and are hoping for derby matches with Newcastle (they are all Newcastle fans).
On another note, the play-off finals are kicking off at 1 minute past 3. It's part of the British Heart Foundation's Every Minute Matters campaign. Just discovered that.

England: Sophie Ecclestone out of first Charlotte Edwards squad - BBC Sport
The squads have been named for the first series under Charlotte Edwards. Ecclestone seems to be playing well domestically, in the early stages of a managed return? First T20 on the 21st May. Not surprised at the inclusion of Emma Lamb, she seems to be in great form so far this season. She may well move from being a part-time bowler to being a regular. Seems to have acquired a few wickets as well in both formats. Anyway, she seems to be set on giving the England management something to think about...

The expected relegation has occurred for Carlisle United. 3 managers in one season (Paul Simpson, Mike Williamson and Mark Hughes).
Hopefully the owners will decide who is to manage Carlisle in the National League first, before the transfer window. First two managers allowed to spend in Summer transfer window and January transfer window. The players didn't get a chance to play in the style for which they were signed to do (particularly true of the January transfer window, didn't have much of a chance to gel as a squad under the manager who signed them). See you in National League 25/26 season...

Charlotte Edwards has since been appointed coach of the England women's team. She has since resigned all her domestic coaching roles to concentrate on the England role. Her predecessor Jon Lewis stayed as coach of UP Warriorz in the WPL whilst coaching England.
This just leaves the role of captain to be decided.

Jon Lewis has had his tenure as the coach of England women terminated and Heather Knight's time as captain has also come to an end.
Tips for the captaincy include Nat Sciver Brunt (current vice captain) and Charlie Dean as a long term replacement. Sophie Ecclestone was mentioned but it seems unlikely after her refusal to be interviewed.

Disappointing start for the England women against India yesterday. Some dodgy fielding, not too sure about the selection and the on field decisions. Could Ecclestone have got into her set of 4 earlier or brought back in earlier? Should they have had Charlie Dean in the XI? Those are the questions I am asking myself..
Like the men, they wore black armbands for the Air India incident.
