Southend were the last team I saw Carlisle play in a match some years ago and I had a few trips down there with my late dad. Carlisle are definitely out of the running for promotion play-offs after the results yesterday. Bring on next season.

I remember him as Carlisle boss. It was over 20 years ago and he oversaw our "Great Escape". Sorry, had to bring that in. He also oversaw Leicester's promotion from this division.

And Cheltenham have gone in the opposite direction. They have been a very strong side at this level recently. I remember a few seasons ago when they were (along with Morecambe, another surprise package) dicing with relegation. As for Carlisle, think we will need a goal difference swing as well as results to go our way to get into the play-offs. That COVID break earlier this year broke our momentum sadly. More positive news, a few players have had contract extensions activated recently.
