League Two 2024/25 Season
Carlisle United have parted company with Paul Simpson. Bit premature in my view. Give the new players a chance to bed in, only signed our last new player the other day.. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cd6yl3d0el1o

Not a bad start under Ollie Pope in the first test under his leadership. I must admit I think the media is making too much of his lack of experience where the leadership is concerned. They have overlooked the fact that Joe Root (former captain) is part of the team still and would be a good sounding board should he need it.

Also worthy of note is that Joe Root has 12,000 + test runs.

PARIS 2024 | Aquatics
I wasn't aware of that being the case, but agree that should be changed. The competitors should be there on merit alone. The gulf between the French pair and the rest was very apparent. One of them I believe had a background in cliff diving.

The British pair I noticed looked rather shocked at what the Australians did in their final dive.

England have won the series, just need to make it a clean sweep as the 3rd test starts on Friday from Edgbaston. Glad to see that West Indies put up more of a challenge this time.

Clean sweep for the England Women against New Zealand. Bit underwhelming from New Zealand, not too sure about the quality of Georgia Plimmer. I don't know if she is just having difficulty getting used to the international environment and the different sorts of pitches, but I am surprised they stuck with her at the top of the order. Highlights for New Zealand was Melie Kerr's 43 and Fran Jonas picking up a 4 wicket haul. Last night was England Women's 200th T20 international. Start of the England Men's second Test against the West Indies today. Hope the West Indies can make more of a game of this.

I am hoping that Bess Heath gets a game behind the stumps for the 5th match. If England are really serious about the what if scenarios for the tournament in Bangladesh, they need to think about the possibility of Amy Jones being unavailable through either injury or illness. I don't think we have explored that possibility yet.
