  1. Oh dear. Did you see any of the palaces in Vienna Laura?
  2. Saw a documentary on Vienna Laura, plenty of history there to do with the old Habsburg empire (Austro-Hungarian, Holy Roman). Never been but I have seen pictures of the palaces, they are amazing. Hope you're having a lovely time Laura.

  5. Overtime is back at work. Need some decorating, so I will be taking advantage of this... Get in early and get a hot chocolate before starting from the vending machine in this "tropical" weather...
  6. The prospect of finding him doesn't look good, it is now a recovery mission and not a rescue mission. Very tragic and another airborne incident involving the sport of football. Heard the voice recordings, rather haunting.

  8. When watching Parliament, they always seem to be making noises when a speaker is speaking. Especially when the chamber is packed and during Prime Minister’s Questions. I suspect it is not only the public that has to resort to Hansard’s!
  9. Also saw something about Holly's remarks and Phil trying to keep his composure... :heehee: Difficult being a presenter... Been under the weather for the best part of 5 days, back up and running now.

  11. Quite a heavy defeat. These politicians make me wonder if they listen to what is actually said in the chamber, there is way too much noise that drowns out the speaker for me.
  12. We Are The Champions.
  13. How often have you visited the Sports Forum this year? Most days though I read a lot owing to the shift pattern I am working. Why have you visited the Sports Forum this year? Mainly for the football threads though I do read the cricket thread (20/20) now and then. What has been your favourite moment in the Sports Forum this year? The Premier League Prediction game.. What else have we done in the Forum this year that you have enjoyed? The worlds greatest footballer rounds, can't remember what it was called exactly but Pete organised it. Is there anything we could do next year that would make you more likely to visit/post in the Sports Forum? n/a, keep up the good work guys. and I hope all have a great 2019.

  20. That calendar story reminds me of a similar purchase I made here. I do enjoy reading historical crime series, there was a gap in the Anne Perry Pitt series. Ordered the missing book online and then discovered when it arrived that it was in German. I have never studied German at any level in my life. Oops….
  21. Lovely day yesterday here. My brother came over and spent some time with us as usual, also a family friend who would otherwise have been on his own as his sister was away visiting in-laws...
  22. Indeed, hope you all had a good Christmas. Many thanks to Mack and Pete for all your hard work through the year.
  23. Hope everyone has a merry Christmas. :jump: :jump: Usually post this, better late than never.... :jump: rFjKNsKV9V0

  25. Well that was a lovely service on Sunday, however it was very cold as the church has no heating or electricity so it was by candlelight. Glad it was held in the afternoon and not in the evening otherwise I would still be shivering now... All well?
