Yeah, it just gets annoying when you want to hear all the new music in the same place. But they can't play EVERY heritage artist I guess. The charter is stupid though, it's not just under-30s that like the idea of a new music station that plays a bit of everything, and you're not getting THAT from Capital*. I'm 42 and I'll be listening to Radio 1 for the rest of my life as much as I dip into Radio 2 when I fancy a bit of Tears For Fears. *It's ironic that the commercial sector really have it in for Radio 1 but don't do a thing to replicate it. I mean, nobody is stopping anyone from playing K Pop Demon Hunters next to Bon Iver, are they? This is why I want to set up my own station, Radio A, which would blatantly rip Radio 1 off like hell but also give you loads of new Kylie and Pet Shop Boys. A man can dream!

They often go for different songs to Radio 1/2. I like to see it as the modern equivalent of a double A-side!

Great stuff, I've been trying to update my Spotify version of the R1 Playlist by just looking at the last.fm stats and guessing. Feels like not being told what the chart is, reminded me of how important it is to me! Gonna use yours, can't be far off! Is very close to what I came up with earlier. FFS TELL US, BBC! SOME OF US SEE THE RADIO 1 PLAYLIST AS A MORE CREDIBLE AND REFLECTIVE VERSION OF THE CHART THAT LETS YOU KNOW WHAT'S REALLY IMPORTANT! Radio 2 have got theirs up! Ah, I get it. They've added Marti Pellow and are scared to break it to us, that'll be it. Lots of has-be...I mean "revered veterans" on 2 this week. Before I even press play, I can imagine EXACTLY what Dancing With The Europeans sounds like. Thinking Trash if you ordered it from Temu?*. What do people get out of listening to "heritage acts" writing such poor retreads of their classic vintage moments? This isn't good. *Well I wasn't wrong. Back on topic and R1 does need a bit of clearout. Feel like I need a huge break from almost everything on the A-list plus much of the B-list.

Considering the suggestions have mainly consisted of VERY well-known songs by very big names that I'm amazed didn't chart and I previously presumed did well in the hit parade, I'd say you 'just said' wrong. It's been very helpful to me and others, apparently. Also had no idea Crazy Train didn't go Top 40 at the time until this week.
