  1. HiyaLuv! posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
Third time in 2.5 years! They should just accept she's still relevant and have her back full-time! Definitely must be one of the most played R1 Anthems acts.

  3. Blobby vs Kylie, you love to see it in 2025. I'm about to embark on listen #4.
  4. BLOBBY! Whoever wrote these lyrics was a ridiculous person, a genius or both. Despite the limitations of his poor co-ordination, he's sure to show the world a thing or two. There wasn't much like it before and there hasn't much been since...although with the tempo/rhythm changes maybe you could say it paved the way for Biology 12 years later, if you were making one of the boldest claims in pop history. If we all club together to chart it, we can get it in the Multichart. WE'LL GIVE IT A GO!
  5. Showing my 42-year-old age here but we SO need I Want To Be (Elected) by Mr. Bean & Smear Campaign ft. Bruce Dickinson next. If you've never seen the video, DO. We do seem to lose out a lot when it comes to novelty singles. A lot of them were released on long-forgotten independent labels and nobody knows who owns the rights etc.
  6. I already added Mr Blobby to my 'new' music playlist. Can't wait to chart it in a few weeks. I bought the cassette single twice back in '93 because I somehow lost the first one. He's unconventional in hue!
  7. I guess this is why so many of us do personal charts, to keep track of things! If someone looked at a streaming-era Official Top 40 in 20 years to see what people were vibing to back in the day, it would tell a tiny part of the story!
  8. You could say it went up, up, up. #sorry I guess this is why so many of us do personal charts, to keep track of things! If someone looked at a streaming-era Official Top 40 in 20 years to see what people were vibing to back in the day, it would tell a tiny part of the story!
  9. Could have sworn it stalled on the B-list!
  10. Cold Heart and Golden too...but they got to #1. Padam Padam has been on here and there too despite only being C-listed at the time!
  11. I find that B-list songs rarely get aired again too, it's like they never existed. It's good they're still letting BC on though! Even if it's probably Big Weekend-related.
  12. Welcome back HAIven, hope this isn't really AI as must admit it's a bit of me. Shame Artemas, Oskar Med K and Turnstile never got higher than B-list. Great to see Robyn moving up! Was probably time for Dracula to go. Decent enough song but far from his best, I heard it four times on Wednesday but that was my fault for listening to BBC Radio 1 all day. Where Is My Husband! starting to feel a bit old now too.

  14. And people are saying the legal issue is that AI was used to make the vocalist sound like Jorja Smith but I'm just speculating.
  15. They may well do, but if AI is involved I feel this is a very slippery slope and it's being normalised. I don't want to live in a world where even one AI song is in the charts, nevermind a load of them.
  16. I already had this on my Alternative Now 122 playlist as one of my token non-R1 songs because 6 Music were on it and it's a right banger (I normally just copy R1 but if something from elsewhere is good enough, it's getting on). I'm so cool and ahead of the curve, and almost 43 years old. I'd like to imagine they pronounce it as "f***ERS!!!!!!". May need to move it to AN123 if R1 are on the cusp of properly getting behind it! Not sure what I'd replace it with. Probably won't be Camera off of Ed Sheeran, which I reckon he thought would be #1 for 10 weeks, They may well do, but if AI is involved I feel this is a very slippery slope and it's being normalised. I don't want to live in a world where even one AI song is in the charts, nevermind a load of them. And people are saying the legal issue is that AI was used to make the vocalist sound like Jorja Smith but I'm just speculating.
  17. I'm no fan of AI but I asked ChatGPT to clean up the lyrics, here are the highlights. "Duane Reade bag with the handles tied Fun games and puzzles inside Hundreds of chocolates, you're so well-stocked How'd I get caught up in your busy world? And that's when I realised Something don't feel right I didn't know it was your fussy palace, fussy palace, fussy palace, fussy palace I always thought it was a dojo, dojo, dojo So am I looking at a busy keeper, busy keeper, busy keeper, busy keeper? Talk about a low blow, oh no, oh no" So maybe she should go with that. Or not.
  18. I wonder if one of these will ever go to #1. Then again, they'd immediately make it a single anyway if so.
  19. So Pussy Palace is faring better in the chart than the track that's been sent to radio and is therefore the single (that's the rules), Madeleine. Has this ever happened before? I presume she'll release a more radio-friendly version than the lol edit we've heard on the chart show at some point. Fussy Palace here we come.
  20. Must be hard keeping up the initial energy, passion and anger when your life has changed beyond all recognition, for the better. You could also accuse it of being Seventeen Going Under and The Borders with different lyrics! He probably needs to retire that War on Drugs drumbeat for a bit. But his recent slower songs are a bit of a drag too. His current status is a classic problem for working-class artists who don't have to live that life anymore. It's also why rappers like Stormzy now struggle to find anything new or interesting to say.
  21. Once I know or strongly suspect something is AI, I'm done with it.
  22. Yes, it should. It's been removed from streaming and the chart for a reason, which is very likely because it's AI slop. Feel this is blatant trolling at this point.
  23. Is C-OUT a new record? I hope it's been banished because of AI. I hate AI.
  24. Excited about the adds from Tate Mc Rae, KETTAMA, Robyn and ROSALIA this week. Didn't get Holly Humberstone four years ago and still don't, but someone seems determined to make her a thing. Always felt like she was being pushed as a British Billie Eilish but I always struggled to remember what any of her tunes went like. Good luck to her though, looks like she has quite a few fans on here. Is C-OUT a new record? I hope it's been banished because of AI. I hate AI. Yes, it should. It's been removed from streaming and the chart for a reason, which is very likely because it's AI slop. Feel this is blatant trolling at this point.
  25. And it was! Good to see R1 focusing on the sound of the song rather than the age of the artist!
