This is going to be Billie Eilish's equivalent of all those indie ballad chancers copying Radiohead without all the weird and unnerving stuff, isn't it.

I saw them at the Big Weekend when massive social gatherings were a thing and they were phenomenal. Throne absolutely went off, as I believe young people say. I'd never really been a to a Kerrang! demographic gig before even when I was in my late teens at the height of pop-punk and nu-metal. It was mint! I was a right NME indie guy at the time, but whose hits do I go back to in 2020, Starsailor's or System of a Down's? No prizes for guessing the answer!

Ah, was unaware of the EP thing. Hope this gives them a third 2020 Top 40 single in any case!

My Future showed us the lady herself is doing a perfectly good job at being a poor man's Billie Eilish. Think we'll be needing something a bit more powerful from the Bad Guy hitmaker next time lest she's branded a poor man's Tate McRae.

I miss the effortless and timelessly breezy joys of their early singles but I do like some of this album. Nothing gets me massively in the feels though. Although also big fan of "but you don't know how it feels to be the (REDACTED)". Didn't see that coming! What's with people relegating most or all the singles that whet our appetites to 'bonus tracks'? The albums should be built around them surely. I do admire the whole "indie-rock En Vogue" vibe I get from them especially on this album even though I keep forgetting what the album tracks go like.

Damn, I was so looking forward to (REDACTED!) The Musical.

This is extremely reminiscent of Linkin Park. Which is probs fine by me as I'm a massive fan of 2001 chart music off of when I was a mere 18 years old. Only really got into them during the past couple of years but always look forward to their new material now. This is not quite Parasite Eve but is probably better than Obey which got old very, very quickly. Big fan of Mother Tongue here, hope they do something along those lines next.

Gave it a try, didn't really grab me. Big fan of Jarvis as a person and I adore Pulp's early-90s era just before all the mainstream success (Sheffield Sex City and Deep Fried Kelvin are amongst my favourite b-sides of all time) but JESUS JONES his musical endeavours have been rubbish since We Love Life.

Glass Animals normally fare very well with me but I never really got Heat Waves. Presuming Tangerine is supposed to be the next single, when's that hitting R1?

Hmmmm, not sure about Lemonade. I was totally there for surprise smashes in roughly the same vein like The Box and Black Beatles but I hear songs like this all the time when I'm working my way through my new music playlist that don't do anything. I must have streamed this about 7 times now and it's only just making a dent in my memory. Though no doubt it will be at #1 in my personal chart in a few weeks after becoming a classic slow burner or something.

Is it just me or does CD sound very different on this?

Yes, really enjoying this. The singles sound so much better in album context and it's great to get a whole host of guest stars young and old again. Infinitely better than The Now Now. Momentary Bliss is a fantastic celebratory closer to the album proper, and there's a lot of decent stuff amongst the bonus tracks too. The St Vincent one is much more fun that I thought it would be. Very bouncy! Most of The Now Now was nothingy to my ears, more like a half-hearted Damon solo album. The best Gorillaz albums are basically bizarre variety shows with generous amounts of rapping in them.

Really crappy album in my opinion, like someone had slammed a load of 2016-17 hits in a blender and removed all the memorable hooks. Loved them up to and including Lean On but don't know what's happened to the quality control. They put out any old rubbish now. Maybe Diplo is too prolific.

Kylie has been a huge constant in my life since I was five in 1988 so it's absolutely fecking glorious to give her an organic #1. I didn't game this at all! Capital Dance having a big influence on this already. Tear It Up holding up well on its ninth week, Armand Van Helden going back up, KC Lights in the top ten. Don't think any of these have made the R1 playlist as yet. Stop me if I'm wrong. 01 (07) Kylie Minogue: Magic (32-16-7-1) 02 (01) YTRAM feat. Great to see my current #1 from YTRAM and Elderbrook sneaking in there. And Kylie in the top five where she belongs, wish this was the real chart!

Yes, this is incredible. Love this impassioned hook-drenched DnB. Very much in the vein of High Contrast's Questions as well as Desire. I can see this being massive with me!

Just found out I should be putting this here and not in its own thread. Will type it up properly later! Capital Dance Playlist w.c 12.10.20 https://pasteboard.co/JvM5vE4.jpg

Okay, feel free to delete, mods. I'll put it there instead!

Sorry if someone's already started doing this. I'll type it all out later! Happy to do it every week from now on as there won't be as much typing to do after the first one. https://pasteboard.co/JvM5vE4.jpg

The rest of the chart can do what it likes at the moment, all I'm here for is Dreams right now!
