HiyaLuv!

FFS Radio 2! And then they wonder why people like 37-year-old me stick with R1. Still, at least they're playing it. Rap has been around 40 years, they need to get over themselves now. Suppose a lot of the older listeners hate it though. Must be hard catering for people in their mid-thirties (many of whom love rap and dance) AND mid-sixties (lots of whom despise rap and dance).

OMFG that's instantly the greatest music video of all-time. Colour me stunned! If that can't make it a hit nothing can. That's just the best thing that's happened in popular culture this year! And no expense spared with the guest star lol, definitely pushing for a hit! The director is a genius, and was possibly on every substance referenced in the song when he dreamt it up. NOW SLAY!

HA HA HA! I almost daren't click on this as it looks too perfect from the thumbnail alone!

Early chart again this week cos - you've guessed it - sheer boredom! I can once again assure you that it would look exactly the same had I waited another day. A number of tracks are resurgent this week. Probably a combination of lockdown, frequent streaming of my Alternative Now 105 and the weather (we can't fully enjoy) returning me to the likes of Say So. 01 (02) PVRIS: Dead Weight (19-6-2-2-1) 02 (01) Lady Gaga: Stupid Love (40-11-5-3-1-2) 03 (10) Doja Cat: Say So (40-4-4-1-1-4-17-16-10-3) 04 (06) Rina Sawayama: Xs (30-13-6-4) 05 (11) The Killers: Caution (24-11-5) 06 (14) Eminem feat. Wow, listening to this now. Very 1992, and that's never a bad thing! Actually, this is AMAZING, thanks!

Cotton Eye Joe. Perfectly ludicrous.

I still want to like this more than I do, kind of finding the vocals a bit annoying. I tend to be all over most chart dance that's not by Joel Corry etc though.

This is growing on me with each listen, fingers crossed it's a proper hit. Almost certainly got enough airings from me to reach my personal chart come Sunday!

Wonder if there's any chance of this getting a proper push, daytime R1 etc?

I have heard Caution on R2 but not R1. I can see them being fully moved over to Radio 2 now. Quite like the song (although the mastering/mixing is ear-bleedingly bad as has been pointed out elsewhere) but can understand why it might seem a bit dadrocky. I forgot LA Priest was in Late of the Pier, might give that a spin right now! Great to see Rina S here - have been thinking XS has 'daytime R1' written all over it. Can Anne 'Jessie J II' Marie go down the dumper now? Also, they're going to belatedly be all over Gerry Ladrock now aren't they? Ugh.
