HiyaLuv's Stormers Chart 6.2.26
Thanks - maybe you were right about Church too. Making a provisional Alternative Now That's What I Call Music 123 and it sounds so much better in context! Put it between Alessi Rose and Robyn. Apparently it didn't even go Top 100 in the official chart, felt bigger as Radio 1 rinsed it hard.

Friday Chart Predictions
Is it feck the most listened to station, that hasn't been the case for decades! And what strange logic, that's not how it works! Also, those figures will include former listeners who never bothered 'unliking' it, hence why so many people in the comments slag it off and say they haven't tuned in for years.
-
Friday Chart Predictions
I thought they were snubbing it because they were thinking more about what a typical Radio 2 listener would want on a current hits CD given that young people don't really see the point in these things. Then again, I'm 43, listen to lots of Radio 2 (and 1) and I think Raindance is mint. The compilers keep their personal tastes at the door, remember. Unless it's there's a chance to get solo David Sylvian on.

Friday Chart Predictions
I'm sure I've seen you complaining about the lack of "rap crap" on various recent Now albums. Especially when they snub 1xtra-friendly tunes in favour of Radio 2 heritage acts. Maybe you normally like rap but think that particular number is rubbish. Fair enough in that case. Might have been a different Hadji though anyway.

Radio 1 Playlist (30/01/26): I believe in the great doggy divide
Yes, way too good for the C-list only treatment! I won't forget it, has been massive in my personal chart. Mad that R1 largely ignored Steps, I didn't notice at the time but I suppose in those days their songs would have reached me through tonnes of other avenues.

Radio 1 Playlist (30/01/26): I believe in the great doggy divide
Huge playlists in those days! Eminem feat. Dido - "Stan" All Saints - "All Hooked Up" Rui Da Silva feat. Cassandra - "Touch Me" Feeder - "Buck Rogers" Mis-Teeq - "Why?" David Morales pres. The Face - "Needin' U" Ash - "Shining Light" Dr Dre feat. Eminem - "Forget About Dre" Fragma feat. Maria Rubia - "Everytime You Need Me" Limp Bizkit - "Rollin'" Planet Funk - "Chase The Sun" Usher - "Pop Ya Collar" Mos Def feat. Pharaohe Monch & Nate Dogg - "Oh No" Mya - "Case Of The Ex" Outkast - "Ms Jackson" Spooks - "Things I've Seen" P!nk - "You Make Me Sick" Safri Duo - "Played-A-Live (The Bongo Song)" Jakatta - "American Dream" Linkin Park - "One Step Closer" Nelly - "EI" Papa Roach - "Last Resort" My Vitriol - "Always" Granddaddy - "The Crystal Lake" Gorillaz - "Clint Eastwood (Ed Case remix)" King Adora - "Suffocate" Samantha Mumba - "Always Come Back To Your Love" Shaggy - "It Wasn't Me" All on my NotNow 48 playlist I listen to today. I remember them playing Oh No loads, shame it only got to #24, it's great. They LOVED the Ed Case remix of Clint Eastwood!

Radio 1 Playlist (30/01/26): I believe in the great doggy divide
My only regret is that it's not What It Sounds Like. Otherwise they can keep 'em coming! How It's Done is sounding huge on earphones I must say. Great production, sounds like it cost £256 million! I have seen the film many, many times - not necessarily out of choice but there are much worse things that get on the household telly!
-
Radio 1 Playlist (30/01/26): I believe in the great doggy divide
Yeah, find them pretty unlistenable, don't get the hype at all. There must be thousands of bands more deserving of the attention out there. Feels like the industry just picks names out of a hat sometimes when deciding which bands to get behind every year! But yes I know it's all subjective and other people think they're spectacular.

Radio 1 Playlist (16/01/26): Smoking plastic cigarettes in the midnight sun
In any case, it's good to see an act who were last playlisted in 2010 get regular Hottest Records! Teatime play is better than nothing!
-
Radio 1 Playlist (16/01/26): Smoking plastic cigarettes in the midnight sun
Feels ludicrous that Gorillaz don't get any daytime play considering the number of Hottest Records and all the Jack hype they get. Doesn't really make any sense. Cool enough for 6:05pm but not 5:05pm! Can only presume it's because they're a "heritage act" now. How they being ageist to cartoons?

So it was #1 for weeks before it went A-list? Mad stuff if so.

Radio 1 Playlist (16/01/26): Smoking plastic cigarettes in the midnight sun
Interesting stuff. Lots of people still big on R1 ten years on, and also a fascinating selection of absolute whOoOoOoOooooos. What happened with Love Yourself? I seem to recall it coming out before Sorry, surely it didn't stall on the C-list? Feel like I heard it six million times on there!

When was A$AP Rocky last on? Must have been a while.

Radio 1 Playlist (09/01/26): Internet girl, get up off the treadmill and play the banjo song
16 weeks for Diplo was ridiculous. I like it but it only got to #30! Think the rest were #1s, no?
-
Radio 1 Playlist (09/01/26): Internet girl, get up off the treadmill and play the banjo song
Don't think Radio 1 would skip an official Sabby C single. But yes it's very ambiguous these days. In any case, nothing 'feels' like a single unless I hear it on the radio many times!
-
Radio 1 Playlist (09/01/26): Internet girl, get up off the treadmill and play the banjo song
I know my opinion is of no consequence at all but I have come to the conclusion that Geese are bloody awful. Maybe it's his voice, I don't know but I'm thinking they may be one of the worst "indie" bands daytime Radio 1 have ever got behind. I find them completely unlistenable. It's depressing to think about the older guitar bands they binned off (Vaccines, Two Door Cinema Club, Muse etc) to make way for stuff like this! On the plus side, generally happy with the adds this week but wondering how on earth Mumford still get on. Surely they should be Radio 2-only by now!
