  1. And people are saying the legal issue is that AI was used to make the vocalist sound like Jorja Smith but I'm just speculating.
  2. They may well do, but if AI is involved I feel this is a very slippery slope and it's being normalised. I don't want to live in a world where even one AI song is in the charts, nevermind a load of them.
  3. I already had this on my Alternative Now 122 playlist as one of my token non-R1 songs because 6 Music were on it and it's a right banger (I normally just copy R1 but if something from elsewhere is good enough, it's getting on). I'm so cool and ahead of the curve, and almost 43 years old. I'd like to imagine they pronounce it as "f***ERS!!!!!!". May need to move it to AN123 if R1 are on the cusp of properly getting behind it! Not sure what I'd replace it with. Probably won't be Camera off of Ed Sheeran, which I reckon he thought would be #1 for 10 weeks, They may well do, but if AI is involved I feel this is a very slippery slope and it's being normalised. 4. I'm no fan of AI but I asked ChatGPT to clean up the lyrics, here are the highlights. "Duane Reade bag with the handles tied Fun games and puzzles inside Hundreds of chocolates, you're so well-stocked How'd I get caught up in your busy world? And that's when I realised Something don't feel right I didn't know it was your fussy palace, fussy palace, fussy palace, fussy palace I always thought it was a dojo, dojo, dojo So am I looking at a busy keeper, busy keeper, busy keeper, busy keeper? Talk about a low blow, oh no, oh no" So maybe she should go with that. Or not.
  5. I wonder if one of these will ever go to #1. Then again, they'd immediately make it a single anyway if so.
  6. So Pussy Palace is faring better in the chart than the track that's been sent to radio and is therefore the single (that's the rules), Madeleine. Has this ever happened before? I presume she'll release a more radio-friendly version than the lol edit we've heard on the chart show at some point. Fussy Palace here we come.
  7. Must be hard keeping up the initial energy, passion and anger when your life has changed beyond all recognition, for the better. You could also accuse it of being Seventeen Going Under and The Borders with different lyrics! He probably needs to retire that War on Drugs drumbeat for a bit. But his recent slower songs are a bit of a drag too. His current status is a classic problem for working-class artists who don't have to live that life anymore. It's also why rappers like Stormzy now struggle to find anything new or interesting to say.
  8. Once I know or strongly suspect something is AI, I'm done with it.
  9. Yes, it should. It's been removed from streaming and the chart for a reason, which is very likely because it's AI slop. Feel this is blatant trolling at this point.
  10. Is C-OUT a new record? I hope it's been banished because of AI. I hate AI.
  11. Excited about the adds from Tate Mc Rae, KETTAMA, Robyn and ROSALIA this week. Didn't get Holly Humberstone four years ago and still don't, but someone seems determined to make her a thing. Always felt like she was being pushed as a British Billie Eilish but I always struggled to remember what any of her tunes went like. Good luck to her though, looks like she has quite a few fans on here. Is C-OUT a new record? I hope it's been banished because of AI. I hate AI. Yes, it should. 12. And it was! Good to see R1 focusing on the sound of the song rather than the age of the artist!

  14. I have read through this four times and I still can't decipher it. You do you though. Are YOU AI in full hallucination mode?
  15. I wonder how many singles Lewis has to go before he's Radio 2-only. Feels like he's dining out on 2019 at this stage, which is quite a long time ago now. What was the last REAL hit people actually streamed in their millions for several years that didn't get an artificially high chart peak from cheap CD singles or first-week curiosity streams? Forget Me? At least he ventured slightly out of his comfort zone on that one. Answering my own question here and it seems Survive did okay but nowhere near as well as Somebody You Loved, which had TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY EIGHT WEEKS on the Top 100. https://www.officialcharts.com/artist/51369/lewis-capaldi/ Also, if anyone from the BBC Radio 1 Playlist is lurking here, stop sleeping on crystallized featuring Inéz off of John Summit, who they liked a lot a few years back. Pretty euphoric, yet not even on the R1 Dance Playlist for some reason!
  16. They have so many ridiculous charts! Unfortunately so do we. Our rock chart for instance could be quite interesting if everything over a few months old was banished! But instead it's just full of songs from 87623 years ago. I wonder how many singles Lewis has to go before he's Radio 2-only. Feels like he's dining out on 2019 at this stage, which is quite a long time ago now. 17. I'm not a fan of AI topping the US country chart one little bit, we're going down a slippery slope! I'm so old I remember THIS Haven. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haven_(band)
  18. Certainly didn't stop Jimmy Nail. SHE'S LYIN'! I'm not a fan of AI topping the US country chart one little bit, we're going down a slippery slope! I'm so old I remember THIS Haven. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haven_(band)
  19. I wonder if Radio 1 will quickly bin HAVEN. off next week. It's still showing for me on Spotify. Maybe I'll give it one last spin. Could be the 2025 Precision Tunes version of Payphone.
  20. It's an ideal choice for a single and sounds brilliant on the radio. Perfect for this time of year too. LOVE AND LIGHT!
  21. Mad stuff! I gave it a spin earlier and thought it was quite decent but the AI rumours did put me off a little. Camelphat put a tune out a couple of months ago that they said was AI-assisted and it totally put me off it so I never played it again. Not that we know that's definitely the reason for the instant HAVEN. death.
  22. Which is why it drives me mad when people say "why's that on the playlist, it's not a single?!!". Think at this point we can safely say anything that gets a load of daytime radio play is a single. Now that there's nothing to buy in the shops, that's literally the definition of a single! Mad stuff! I gave it a spin earlier and thought it was quite decent but the AI rumours did put me off a little.
