So great for Padam Padam too. :wub: It's a pity the rest of her classic catalogue really pales in comparison to CGYOOMH. In Your Eyes managed 9.71% of Head's streams. So many of her huge hits haven't really got a good footing on streaming... for instance, Better the Devil You Know doing under 3m feels rather modest for what comes across as being one of her signature hits. Dancing has become rather forgotten about it. :cry: The Golden era in general really. Only three songs from it in her Top 100, whereas Disco has 14 from that era! I could maybe see Edge of Saturday Night being in her Top 10 of 2025, but we'll see next year. :thinking:

Really excited for this to be back! I don't think I mentioned it on the forum before, but I went to see an episode of Gladitors being filmed, back in August! In fact, it was their first date of filming for Series 2. I assume it'll be the first episode shown unless they mix things up in the edit. My inner child who loved Gladiators back in the 90s was super thrilled to be there, and it was interesting to see how it was filmed. We were there for about 9 hours in all (from midday - and that's not including the queuing time to secure tickets, which happened at 9am!). Despite the long day, it actually felt like it went by pretty quickly. There were quite lengthy gaps between events being filmed, but these gaps were filled up with some activities to keep the crowd engaged, for example a Q&A with a couple of the Gladiators. Just like back in the 90s, it was super clear that Gladiators has cast a magic spell over kids - there were so many families with young children there. I was quite surprised/impressed with how well behaved they all were considering how long the day was, they were very enthralled! I remember that Giant needed his own special reinforced ladder to climb up onto a podium for a particular event! :lol: (I hope I don't see myself on screen though! :lol: We were in the second tier - not the side ones, but the back one. So if it was a music concert, it's the seating area where you'd be directly facing the stage). I did enjoy the celebrity one. It did give me an extra appreciation for just how in shape the regular contestants have to be to do this show, because even Joel who by any measure is incredibly fit, was completely worn out during the Eliminator. Bless Louise for not being able to get over the first bars - atlhough quite frankly I doubt I'd be able to either and I'm 20 years younger than her :rofl:

Queen Fozia :cheeseblock: I'm glad she was saved, and I also appreciated her not just sitting back at the Round Table, deciding to speak out that the treatment of Kas wasn't nice. Which it really wasn't! I felt for him when he explained that he wasn't able to share/hear theories during the day because he was so ostracised. :( But from a viewer point of view, the pay off of this was worth it because Kas' exit was incredible! It's interesting how some players end up being so in the background in the early episodes, to the point that you barely realise they're there until 4 episodes in - which was certainly the case with Anna, and Francesca is still rather low key. It'll be interesting if it turns out that they end up being crucial players deeper into the game. On the Dan vs Joe side of things, I'd lean towards Dan. His eye roll moment was amusing! I wonder if there's perhaps some producer manipulation to sway Minah and Linda into recruiting at this point, to keep things fresh. I find it kind of hard to believe that Minah really wanted to, but let's take that on face value anyway. Interesting choices to recruit. I can see why they're thinking of Anna and Freddie from a sacrificial point of view, but at the same time, both of them are fully aware the heat is on them and I think they might see straight through the request and turn it down. Fozia is a bit of a wildcard, being a newcomer, to know how her added to the traitors would work out. Out of all three I think I'd like them to choose her. Like others have said, I'm baffled that Linda no longer has any heat on her and honestly I find that iconic. Get to the very end Linda xx

It ended 2000 on sales of 212,000. As far as I'm aware we didn't get to know another total for it until June 2009, when we found it was just shy of 250,000 copies! So that was an increase of 38,000 copies. This takes into account its physical sales continuing throughout 2001 which seemingly dried up early into 2002. Download sales started to contribute in 2005, so 4 years of downloads up to the point of its June 2009 total reveal. So this indicates that the sales required to place at these positions throughout 2001 (in numerical order: 46 54 54 62 64 66 69 79 80 86 97 101 109 110 112 114 115 116 120 123 126 127 127 127 143 143 144 144 145 146 147 150 151 151 153 161 165 181 188 189) would have averaged out to just a few hundred sales each week. Let's say it sold 30,000 copies in 2001 (a guess based on nothing) - that would be an average of 577 per week. So maybe it was a thousand or so sales each week while it was within the Top 100, but maybe a couple of hundred towards the bottom of the Top 200? It's a shame it didn't sell more when it was new! It was rather frontloaded. 106,000 sales at #1, and funnily enough another 106,000 was sold during its 2000 run of 03-10-22-31-38-39-43-46-42. For it to reach 400k/Gold is such a mountain to climb, and by my reckoning it's probably still not close. I'm estimating somewhere in the 340k+ area by now. :cry: Sadly it's one of their least supported singles on streaming. If only it could be added to a decent playlist or go viral. -_-
