  1. I'm very happy to see that it's managed Top 10 in the US, at long last! Also it's huge that it's the most streamed Christmas song released in the 2010s! :o I received my 7" gold vinyl from Amazon the other day but haven't had chance to play it yet - today has to be the day!! Also Ariana has blessed us with a live version :cheeseblock: GwWaFgu8q2w

Looks like they're hoping for the song to have impact in that week then, with the vinyl release too! I'm keeping my fingers crossed it reemerges in the Top 100 on 3rd January though *.*
  3. 100 weeks is such an incredible achievement  Legendary song! And the Fortnite collaboration is iconic omg.
  4. :cheeseblock: Smash!!

At least I was, but then I embarked on the task of finding out how much money I have spent to get those 46 items. 3 albums were gifts from friends, thank you to them! (those albums being: Tension II, Body Language and Shawn colour vinyl). Ultimately I spent: £686 on 23 albums and £271 on 20 singles - a total spend of £957. Eeeek! For some reason the expenditure on singles feels worse to me than the albums. Then it leads me to thinking that this is before taking into account CDs, cassettes, merch... :drama: I think for my own sake I won't work that out!! Most expensive albums: £66.49 - Charli xcx £55.53 - Madonna £41.81 - Chappell Roan Most expensive singles: £28.00 - Steps [Record Store Day is so scandalous...! I'm sure I could have waited, but I had FOMO] £27.71 - The Blessed Madonna/Kylie Minogue [£7.71 was postage... it's rather rare though, so no regrets!] Cheapest albums: £16.99 - Steps (Buzz) £14.99 - 5 Seconds of Summer £14.85 - Claire Richards Cheapest singles: Both of the Dua Lipa singles. I bought them in bundles with CDs and Cassettes, so the postage charge was spread out across many items. Training Season was only £4.99, Illusion was £7.99, and even with postage charges they still came to under £10 each. None of the other singles I bought this year cost less than £10 with postage. Bargains... the one that stands out to me is Mariah Carey's Music Box 30th anniversary on 4xLP. It cost £34.53, which is about half of its RRP of £69.99. It's a lovely item so I was very pleased to nab it for that price! I was pleased that Steps finally released their first 3 albums on vinyl this year, and that Girls Aloud continued their reissue campaign with their second album. I think my favourite vinyl packaging has to be Taylor Swift - The Tortured Poets Department. It's very high quality, includes an attached booklet... it just feels very fancy!

I'd forgotten that 4.0 did a cover of Santa Baby. I listened to it yesterday (which was the first time I had done since maybe 2010) and I quite enjoyed it to be honest! With the Christmas-mentioning New Year, there's festive representation in my playlist from Sugababes past and present. Santa Baby only has 40,000 streams on Spotify!
  9. Really looking forward to hearing it in full on Friday! I hope the purpose of this 2 Become 1 release and the Strictly performance is to reintroduce her to the public as a solo singer, and that it's going to lead to more new music from her. The song is being released by "The Orchard Enterprises, under Sony Music" - The Orchard Enterprises NY, Inc., doing business as The Orchard (also known as The Orchard Music), is an American music and entertainment company, specializing in media distribution. It is a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment, based in New York City. So between that, being back with Simon, working with Stephen Lipson... I hope it's all pointing to more.
  10. One of her best  It's a huge shame that it's not on streaming!
  11. Oh quite a surprise to have a new studio recording of this from Emma! It’s a safe choice for her, considering how often she’s performed it (and will do so again on Strictly) but I’m sure it’ll sound lovely. A released solo version is what I wanted back in 2003 when she performed it on TV  I know we got the version with Robbie but… completely solo Bunton is where it’s at
  12. Does the new solo recording of 2 Become 1 count? :teresa:

I cashed out on Tom yesterday and got my £7 back and an additional 78p
  14. Insane that it’s been 22 years 🥹🥹 Remember it being new like it was yesterday!
  15. She was backstage making cups of tea for them between songs, singing along to WOMAN :teresa: Her Lift Me Up promo was done, she had free time! (“Geri” didn’t sound very noticeable to me in this video tbh argh!)
  16. But… as I said, this Woman upload is using their real vocals  Vocal extraction and separation =/= fake vocals

Is Bet365 not re-opening Christmas #1 betting? Have I scammed myself out of £7*, thinking that there would be opportunities to cash out in the coming days? * Assuming that Tom Grennan doesn't get Christmas #1 x
  20. Interesting, why so? A 14 track version of TOTD as its theoretical first release, this would still have contained the 10 tracks from the original, i.e. the majority of the album. So I’m not sure I understand how some additional tracks on top of those songs, would lead to being very disappointed in the album? If you like the vast majority of the tracks, wouldn’t that still be a pleasing outcome?
  21. ? Firstly, their professional and personal association was plain to see in the 90s and 00s - so it’s not something that can be “outed” as if it was some kind of secret, because it wasn’t. Diddy has left his musical footprint across numerous huge artists from that era, so your suggestion of a Mariah boycott would have to apply to so many artists… and what exactly would that achieve? Mariah is not responsible for Diddy’s alleged heinous actions. Being a friend and colleague of somebody is not an admission of knowledge/condoning of their behaviour. Suggesting that she should be considered guilty by association isn’t fair.
  22. Thank you! I'll update. Interestingly Don't Call Me Angel going Gold has happened exactly 5 years after it went Silver on 13th December 2019! 'we can't be friends (wait for your love)' left the Top 100 for the first time. It stayed in the chart for 32 weeks, which is the longest stretch of time a single of hers has managed to stay in the Top 100 since the ACR rules were introduced. 'no tears left to cry' and 'Rain on Me' also managed 32 weeks!
  23. I received the vinyl today. Its official UK release date is considered to be today (13th December) however the sales have been included in today's chart as if it was released last week - it's new at #7 in the vinyl singles chart, and a re-entry at #9 in the physicals chart.
  24. "Katy Perry filmed an ITV special last night, quite randomly, in a Methodist hall in the middle of Westminster. Money is pretty tight at ITV so much so they couldn't really afford to do it. They had the brainwave to start charging for tickets to see Katy. TV audiences are normally free (as are church services, presumably) so that anyone in the crowd can be made to whoop and cheer on demand. Which is perhaps why few people jumped at the £143 tickets on offer, still very much available right up until the 11th hour of filming. Budgets were so bleak, Katy had to take on some product placement. When the show airs later this month you can probably see her receiving an Amazon Prime parcel onstage and taking a sip of some posh fizzy water to help pay for it all."
