In fact it's hit every position in the Top 14. All it needs is #15 and #19 to achieve every Top 20 position. ~ I'm glad that All I Want for Christmas Is You managed to get to #1 in the UK before Last Christmas took over as the Christmas song here. It would have bugged me for an eternity if it never improved on being #2! In 2020, Mariah spent 2 weeks at #1, followed by 1 week at #1 in 2022. Unless something significantly changes about listening habits, I'm not sure I ever see this song making it to #1 again in the UK though.

For sure! I was so disappointed River snatched the #1 at a time when Mariah still hadn't managed it herself. Although after a few years of these Amazon exclusives I've softened towards them, seeing as without them the Christmas chart would be a bit less exciting.

I wonder what's the deal with Amazon's download chart? Still no sign of XMAS, any version, which simply has to be wrong. Wouldn't surprise me if the truth of the matter is that she's #1, #2 and #3 there.

XMAS is proving to be so devisive as a song... each to their own of course. I find it to be such a fun, uplifting and festive song! I'm happy to be playing it, I don't feel like this is a forced campaign to get behind something bad. I genuinely think it's worthy of being a hit, regardless of Amazon's shenanigans playing its part in making it happen. Also, I think it stands out as something quite different in a very overcrowded Christmas market. To me it doesn't feel like Kylie's take on someone else's Christmas classic, this feels like it's something original, her own twist on Christmas. Which I think is quite hard to pull off!

I bet £10 on 5/1, so I'd get £60 in return! Nothing major but hey, would still be nice. Bet365 took so long to start the Christmas betting, and that's the site I use. Just now I've downloaded the 59p store version btw!

Heh, the quality of the uploaded performances didn’t strike me as being too good. I mean the close ups look pretty good, but then there’s horrors like this going on with their upscale!

I think if there's really any additional versions coming up, they'll be reactionary releases (i.e. released after Monday midweeks) rather than coming in advance of them.

#16 is lower than I'd anticipated by this point, but let's see what this upcoming week brings! I wouldn't have imagined Kylie racking up all these charting songs in the 2020s and while in her 50s: #56 - Say Something #53 - Magic #95 - Real Groove #8 - Padam Padam #19 - Tension #81 - Hold On to Now #60 - Dance Alone #63 - My Oh My #59 - Lights Camera Action #16 - XMAS That's 10 singles charting in the Top 100 this decade. She managed 12 in the 2010s, which makes me wonder if she can outdo that!

There was a lot of goodwill from the chart forum posters for Padam Padam, as it becoming a Top 10 hit was unexpected & against all odds for Kylie after so many years. I don’t think an Amazon driven success will be seen as something to get behind in the same way.
