  1. Mine still doesn’t say it’s been shipped !

    The person behind Plastic Pop wrote this on Popjustice on Saturday:

    "The integration between our e-commerce and distribution failed so I’m having to shipping notices manually. The orders have all be sent now and tracking should be sent separately so check junk mail. etc."

  2. It has actually already charted this week; #8 on the British Vinyl charts.

    Oh yes! I hadn't noticed that. A bit of a shame that the information was submitted a week early. Last week was Glastonbury week which had a few boosted albums. This upcoming week is relatively quieter, so perhaps Cinderella's Eyes could have got some better positions next week. Oh well!

    #8 - Vinyl

    #27 - Scottish

    #29 - Physical

    #35 - Sales

    I haven't seen any sales data for Friday's chart, but I saw Thursday's midweeks. Nicola wasn't in the Top 200 on Thursday (675 to be midweek #200), though there's a chance that Nicola's data hadn't been submitted at that stage.

    In the vinyl chart, #7 is Soccer Mommy and #9 is Machine Gun Kelly. They'd sold 749 vinyl and 656 vinyl respectively in Thursday's mids.

    In the physical chart, #28 is Arooj Aftab and #30 is Tommaso/Po/Arrivabeni. In Thursday's midweeks they'd sold 735 copies and 688 copies respectively. Machine Gun Kelly at #31 had sold 710 copies in Thursday's mids. Based on this, we can deduce that Cinderella's Eyes sold more than 710 copies last week, given that Nicola is ahead of Machine Gun Kelly in this chart!

    In the sales chart, #34 is Machine Gun Kelly [Thursday - 737 sales] and #36 is Def Leppard [Thursday - 636 sales]

  3. I don't think Kylie was done dirty with the Legends slot at all! :o She took all the attention that year. I had to check who headlined (it was Stormzy, The Killers and The Cure).

    I'm not really sure I see the perspective that doing the Legends slot is a consolation prize or something. I mean okay, it's not the headliner, but it absolutely has prestige to it. I think Kylie being mentioned in the same breath as "Legend" was an important moment in her career, solidifying how the public really do see her as a legendary artist now.

    Spice Girls are perfect for the Legends slot. I don't think we can successfully make a good enough case for them to be a good fit as a headliner for the festival. That has everything to do with their current standing in the music world - and this is pretty much by their own doing - but whenever they do come back together, they ride the wave of their legacy, their past glories. Very far back in the past glories. There's been no new album for 22 years. Yet the music they made in the 90s has really stood the test of time, and they're widely seen as being icons of the decade. There's always a feverish interest in them. They're certainly celebrated a lot more now than they were 10+ years ago. That's why them doing the Legends slot would suit them down to the ground. It just makes sense! By all means if the Spice Girls had been active as a group in recent years then being headliners could have made sense too, but they haven't been.

    I just think we have to be realistic. Doing the legends slot would surely be a triumph for them. I mean seriously, who'd have even imagined in the 90s or 00s that the Spice Girls would ever be mentioned with complete seriousness in the same breath as Glastonbury? I'd be so proud of them if they did it.

  4. Now that we're in a new month, could I still do a Steps Singles Rate at some point later in the month or should I wait until the Ultimate Collection & new single comes out.

    I have a good feeling that 'Hard 2 Forget' will come out in July, so I think it would be a good idea to begin a Singles Rate some time after we've heard that! Totally up to you if you'd prefer to wait until the release of the Ultimate Collection. Whenever it happens, I look forward to it!

    I think we can do a video survivor?

    A good idea but may I suggest we wait until all of the HD videos have been uploaded before that happens? :cool:

  5. Remixes EP (2022):

    ^ This wasn't particularly necessary for the label to do, considering that a Remixes EP already existed from last year.

    The only difference between the above EP and the below EP is that they've swapped out the album version for the acoustic:

    Remixes EP (2021):

    The label could have brought these Steps only versions of the song onto the EP but for some reason they've chosen not to:

    Heartbreak in This City (Karaoke Version) [only on What the Future Holds Pt. 2 (Morning After Edition)]

    Heartbreak in This City (Saint Remix Radio Edit) [only on What the Future Holds (Night Out Edition)]

    Heartbreak in This City (Steps Only Single Mix) [only on What the Future Holds Pt. 2 (Morning After Edition)]

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    These mixes weren't on streaming before today:
    Take Me for a Ride (Rogue Digit Slippery Dancefloor Mix) [previously only on What the Future Holds Pt. 2 (Afterparty Edition)]
    Take Me for a Ride (Acoustic) [previously only on What the Future Holds Pt. 2 (Morning After Edition)]
    Take Me for a Ride (Initial Talk Club Mix) [previously only on What the Future Holds Pt. 2 (Afterparty Edition)]
    Take Me for a Ride (7th Heaven Club Mix) [previously only on What the Future Holds Pt. 2 (Afterparty Edition)]
    They didn't include the Karaoke Version from What the Future Holds Pt. 2 (Morning After Edition).
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    The Slightest Touch and A Hundred Years of Winter already had Remixes EPs so I assume they're not putting out 2022 versions of these. Although there are mixes of both that aren't on streaming:

    The Slightest Touch (Acoustic) [What the Future Holds Pt. 2 (Morning After Edition)]

    The Slightest Touch (Karaoke Version) [What the Future Holds Pt. 2 (Morning After Edition)]

    A Hundred Years of Winter (7th Heaven Radio Edit) [https://cdpool.com exclusive]

    A Hundred Years of Winter (7th Heaven Club Mix) [https://cdpool.com exclusive]

  6. Remix EPs for Something in Your Eyes and To the Beat of My Heart have been added today:

    Something in Your Eyes - the only remix not previously available to stream was GMJS Poptastic Club Anthem, which before now was only on the Night Out Edition of What the Future Holds. For some reason the label opted not to include the Alternative Radio Mix and Karaoke Versions to this EP, so they remain as exclusives on the Morning After Edition of What the Future Holds Pt. 2.

    To the Beat of My Heart - GMJS Trance Mix and Shortland Tropical Extended Mix are new to streaming, before now they were only on the Afterparty Edition of What the Future Holds Pt. 2 (the former mix was also on Faye's CD). The other songs were already available. The only version of the song which isn't included on this EP is the Karaoke version, that can be found on the Morning After Edition of What the Future Holds Pt. 2.

  7. Scared Of The Dark was released on the 10th of March 2017 and marked the first new Steps single in 15 years

    Poor Light Up the World! :lol:

    Obviously I’m very happy to see Scared of the Dark win considering that it’s my favourite Steps song :wub:

    Thank you for hosting this Paradise Lost & to everyone who contributed!

    (Occasionally watched: Beat the Chasers)

  9. A fan site's YouTube upload of the One for Sorrow video (uploaded on 10th October 2011 and managed 5,084,775 views) has now been blocked. With the new HD version being the only way to watch the music video on YouTube, presumably its views will shoot up, more so than Steps' other HD videos.

    I still think it's a pity that their team didn't replace the SD videos with the new HD ones, so they'd retain the view counts and continue to add views. Their original SD videos all appear first in searches, whereas the HD versions appear lower down the search results. It'll be a bit of a shame if their team has gone to all this effort to put HD versions out there, only for them to be a bit buried and people still landing on the SD versions instead.

  10. "Someone on SayHey with a contact at BMG has confirmed the cover art is using the awful 2003 scan but is trying to get it changed to a better quality scan/image from Stefane (and it's looking hopeful). They also confirmed 'several' colour vinyl." (post from Popjustice)

    Fingers crossed it won't go to print until they've sourced a better image for the cover! Would be a bit of a shame to go with an inferior scan.

  11. :wub: I hope this means that they'll eventually officially release some of the songs they worked on all those years ago!

    I do admire their determination to keep going after experiencing all the set backs. It's a great shame that it's taken the best part of a decade for them to be able to reach this point, but I'm glad they're still here and that the future looks bright for them!
