  3. Happy for those who got tickets so far, and I hope those who weren't lucky will have better fortunes in the next couple of days! I got tickets for Birmingham! The seats are pretty close to the B Stage, so that should be a fab experience when Kylie's performing on that stage! Even though the seats are towards the back of the seated floor, I hope it's still a good spot for taking in the overall spectacle of the show. Roll on May 2025! :cheer:
  4. Is he really though x Big dog Savage, I'm the man of your dreams (21) I heard you gotta jump just to put on your jeans I'm like Amazon 'cause I got what you need (21) She gave me her heart, so I gave her my keys (21) i- That entire song is wretched! :arrr: ~~~ All the Love and Wonder are the only two non-singles that made me perk up a little bit while giving this album its first listen. Even then I'd only go as far as to describe them as "good", but it's far from love at first listen. Nothing special. Gorgeous, Crush, Truth and Nirvana are all ok at a push, but they're not sticking in my mind after a couple of plays. Well, to be fair "gooooorgeooooous" (like, literally that one bit of the song) is memorable. As well as a part of 'Crush' simply for sounding like Kelly Clarkson - Catch My Breath, oop. Gimme Gimme and Artificial are really quite bad. After the first play of the album, I actually understood why they went with the three singles that they did lol. Like, I can hear the "logic" behind Woman's World first out of what they had to work with. Lifetimes has a bit of energy and sentiment to it compared to some of the other more AI-esque sounding offerings. Then there's I'm His, He's Mine - which for me is by a distance the best song here due to being the catchiest... with the sample and Doechii doing some heavy lifting; Katy's relatively inconsequential on her own song. Honestly I even had quite a bit of time for Witness, and felt sad for her at the time that she was getting dunked on when I didn't feel like she was deserving of that. Clearly Witness was a side step away from the sounds we were used to from her, but at least to me she sounded fully present in her music and it was admirable that she was trying out new things artistically - even if it wasn't a triumph overall. But on 143... she comes across as being checked out and the overall result is a bland and forgettable offering.

  6. Guilty as Sin coming across as the underdog here, when it’s generally seen as a major stand out gem of the album…! Like, of course it should still be in the running at this point! Ideally it would be lasting a few more rounds beyond this too. How it was ever in danger of coming 15th or whatever was the most crazy aspect of this survivor, not it still being here! 🤪 Now that’s off my chest… Voting for: But Daddy I Love Him
  7. ^ Here's the amount of stock left on Charli's UK store - all of these items are on pre-order with the release date 11th October: Brat and it's completely different but also still brat 3279 - 2xCD 1250 - 3xLP Vinyl 172 - 2xCassette Brat and it’s the same but there’s three more songs so it’s not 864 - CD 464 - 2xLP Vinyl Brat 813 - 1xLP Vinyl (translucent highlighter vinyl) 584 - 1xLP Vinyl (Clear sleeve over translucent black vinyl) 367 - CD 140 - 1xLP Vinyl (Red Picture Disc vinyl) 66 - 1xLP Vinyl (Blue Picture Disc vinyl) 42 - 1xLP Vinyl (Translucent black vinyl) Brat and it's completely different but also still brat 3xLP has sold 195 copies over the past 5 days. 9. I’ve had it in mind that they might not come back as a “releasing music and touring” group until 2027, for a 30th anniversary moment. So I’ve mentally prepared myself for a few more inactive years. Honestly at the moment I’m not yearning for their return. The 2020-22 run was very full of releases and I still feel quite satiated by that? It is kind of crazy to me that it’s already been 3 years since their last studio album, and 4 years since What the Future Holds… I feel like that’s really flown by!! If they come back any earlier than 2027 though, I’ll find it to be a pleasant surprise! I just think they’re going to be very focused on the musical and any plans they have with it in 2025 if the Birmingham run proves to be successful enough.
  10. I've gone back to my default setting of "expect her not to chart, be pleasantly surprised if she manages to" so for now I'll just assume that Lights Camera Action won't chart lol.
  11. Running is unreleased, but has been the most fan-demanded leaked song! The songs released on the digital version but not available since (bar very briefly on streaming) are Drum and Heavenly Body. There's been some other digital releases from BMG where the tracks ended up being available afterwards, so I'm not sure that they have to stick to their word with Drum and Heavenly Body, but as things stand it seems they're going to!

A controversy regarding what Janet had to say about Kamala Harris in an interview with The Guardian... https://www.theguardian.com/music/2024/sep/...d-kamala-harris Somebody called Mo Elmasri who claimed to be Janet's manager issued an apology statement to Buzzfeed, saying: Janet Jackson would like to clarify her recent comments. She recognizes that her statements regarding Vice President Kamala Harris’ racial identity were based on misinformation. Janet respects Harris’ dual heritage as both Black and Indian and apologizes for any confusion caused. She values the diversity Harris represents and understands the importance of celebrating that in today’s society. Janet remains committed to promoting unity and understanding. ... but in a bizarre twist, this is not actually Janet's manager. Reps for Janet told Variety that the above "apology" was "made by a person who is not the singer’s manager, as he had claimed, and thus was not authorized to speak on her behalf." Janet's manager is actually Randy Jackson, her brother. So as things stand, there actually is no apology from Janet regarding her misinformed words about Kamala. This is so disappointing and it seems shockingly out of character for Janet. :( I really hope she speaks out about this asap. Janet's brother Tito passed away last week. Although she pulled out of a concert meant to take place in South Africa on 21st September, the European leg of her tour appears to be going ahead, starting in Paris on the 25th. I'm seeing her on the 27th. I had tickets to see her in 2016 but she cancelled those shows... and I've been a fan since the late 90s, so this has been a really, really long time coming. Her above comments are so strange and I can't help but feel a bit weirded out that she'd say such a thing. I still want to be looking forward to this because it's such a bucket list moment to see Janet in concert...
  13. Kylie really said "I'll give you anything but not Running"!
  14. Some of Carly's strongest material is included on those Side B albums! I wouldn't say her Side B projects indicate that the songs were all considered to be "not good enough" - and I don't think her fans see it that way either. (Or the critics for that matter) (I appreciate that this is off topic x)
  15. We technically don't have a topic for Tension - 16th album, but I'll say this here: it was released 1 year ago today!
  16. I'm hopeful for around 35k, in line with what Liam said re: Steps' percentage decline from What the Future Holds to What the Future Holds Part 2! In terms of physicals: Tension 1 CD - Standard 2 CD - Standard track list with Purple/Green artwork 3 CD - Deluxe, Digibook size 4 CD - Deluxe, Mediabook size 5 Vinyl - Black LP 6 Vinyl - Orange LP 7 Vinyl - Green LP 8 Vinyl - Pink LP 9 Vinyl - Coke Bottle Clear LP 10 Vinyl - Clear LP, pop up shop exclusive 11 Vinyl - Silver LP, gatefold 12 Cassette - Orange 13 Cassette - Green 14 Cassette - Blue 15 Cassette - Pink 16 Double Cassette - White + two versions of the Test Pressing vinyl, but I have a feeling that they don't count towards sales figures anyway... maybe just a money making exercise. Tension II 1 CD 2 Vinyl - Clear LP 3 Vinyl - Turquoise LP 4 Vinyl - Yellow LP 5 Cassette + Test Pressing vinyl Not sure if I've missed any. I'm a little disappointed that the hardback CD formats apparently aren't continuing but maybe they're being held back? Maybe they were hesitant to throw out too many formats considering that they're also wanting people to buy concert tickets this time!
  17. The rather short lengths of the tracks on Tension II was raised as a discussion point. I decided to look at every Kylie studio album and work out the average length of the songs on each of them. I'm just using the standard track lists rather than deluxes: 57:12 - 10 tracks = 5 minutes, 43 seconds (average length per song) Kylie Minogue (1994) 49:49 - 12 tracks = 4 minutes, 9 seconds Impossible Princess (1997) 44:20 - 11 tracks = 4 minutes, 2 seconds Rhythm of Love (1989) 47:44 - 12 tracks = 3 minutes, 59 seconds Body Language (2003) 38:52 - 10 tracks = 3 minutes, 53 seconds Let's Get to It (1991) 58:16 - 15 tracks = 3 minutes, 53 seconds Light Years (2000) [includes 'Password'] 45:27 - 12 tracks = 3 minutes, 47 seconds Fever (2001) 43:20 - 12 tracks = 3 minutes, 37 seconds Aphrodite (2010) 35:22 - 10 tracks = 3 minutes, 32 seconds Kylie (1988) 38:46 - 11 tracks = 3 minutes, 31 seconds Kiss Me Once (2014) 45:12 - 13 tracks = 3 minutes, 29 seconds X (2007) 41:29 - 12 tracks = 3 minutes, 27 seconds Disco (2020) 40:33 - 12 tracks = 3 minutes, 23 seconds Golden (2018) 32:56 - 10 tracks = 3 minutes, 18 seconds Enjoy Yourself (1989) 35:51 - 11 tracks = 3 minutes, 16 seconds Tension (2023) 40:07 - 13 tracks = 3 minutes, 5 seconds Kylie Christmas (2015) 36:47 - 13 tracks = 2 minutes, 50 seconds Tension II (2024)
  18. You're welcome! I'm already feeling nervous for the pre-sale day :drama:
  19. It's funny that even the Tension "Extension" album has a shorter run time than 'Kylie Minogue' (self-titled 1994 album) If a song can do all it really needs to do within 3 minutes then I'm not against it being short - but there are a lot of sub 3 minute songs that feel short for the sake of being short, and would have greatly benefited from something added to it - which makes them frustrating listens. With 9 out of 13 songs being below 3 minutes on Tension, I am a little nervous about that... but we shall see (well, hear x). I'm not all that convinced that Kylie's streams will be any stronger at the lengths they are, than if each song had been upwards of a minute longer each. So if the short lengths are in mind of doing well on streaming rather than being on artistic merit, that's a bit of a shame.

  21. An album doesn't need to include a song with the same name on it! Tension II as a title represents the album being a companion/continuation of the Tension era as a whole.
  22. Florida!!! (voted days ago but forgot to say  )
  23. Physical singles now available to preorder in the UK! HMV has the 12" for £13.99, 7" for £9.99 and CD for £5: https://hmv.com/search?searchtext=mariah+ca...searchcategory=
  24. ABBA’s compilation is released a week later on 25th October. Although even if they were out in the same week, I personally don’t believe that their sales would come anywhere close to Kylie’s. They’re only releasing two physical formats, a 2CD for £22 and a 4LP vinyl for £100! I would be surprised if its first week sales are much more than a third of what Kylie’s end up being.
