I feel like there isn't any particular reasons why XMAS physical sales would be reported too slowly, as it's just the versions available from her store or Amazon since pre-order. I think Kylie Christmas had two reasons why it ended up being the case that sales were reported quite late: the late addition of the pop-up store vinyl to her online store, or most likely the signed copies from Banquet (and they can be very slow to get things processed and dispatched - to the point that sometimes they even miss the cut off for the first sales week).

Random mention but Kylie's #1 singles either entered straight in at #1 (Spinning Around, Can't Get You Out of My Head and Slow) or climbed there from #2 (I Should Be So Lucky, Especially for You, Hand on Your Heart and Tears on My Pillow). So going 16-1 with XMAS would be a new one for her! Hopefully I've not jinxed this into going 16-2-1 lol (which incidentally is chart movement that I Should Be So Lucky did)

For sure! I was so disappointed River snatched the #1 at a time when Mariah still hadn't managed it herself. Although after a few years of these Amazon exclusives I've softened towards them, seeing as without them the Christmas chart would be a bit less exciting.

I wonder what's the deal with Amazon's download chart? Still no sign of XMAS, any version, which simply has to be wrong. Wouldn't surprise me if the truth of the matter is that she's #1, #2 and #3 there.

XMAS is proving to be so devisive as a song... each to their own of course. I find it to be such a fun, uplifting and festive song! I'm happy to be playing it, I don't feel like this is a forced campaign to get behind something bad. I genuinely think it's worthy of being a hit, regardless of Amazon's shenanigans playing its part in making it happen. Also, I think it stands out as something quite different in a very overcrowded Christmas market. To me it doesn't feel like Kylie's take on someone else's Christmas classic, this feels like it's something original, her own twist on Christmas. Which I think is quite hard to pull off!
