It's a horrible idea at this point, it's simply far too early. By all means think about doing it in 2046... but not now!! They're only in their early 50s (or 49 x), there's really no valid excuses for holograms to even cross any of their minds! It's madness that they think copying ABBA again would be a great idea. The five four of them need to realise that their options for the Spice Girls are: tour, release new music, or... just do nothing (the latter being what they're apparently the very best at doing). 😴 Any attempt at a project that doesn't directly involve them is not wanted and likely won't succeed, as Mr.X put very well. They also need to be realistic about their own catalogue. They're very fortunate that they have been able to rely on a fairly small discography for touring, but it just doesn't work outside of that. It's a big reason why the musical failed. They didn't make enough hits to sustain such projects. If they were completely passionate about the idea of a hologram show, then put in the ground work for it... get back together in the studio, make more albums. Promote that music well, tour it, force casuals to hear the new stuff alongside what they came for (Wannabe!!). Make those songs recognisable and maybe that'll help them out in the 2040s that they've got more music to draw from. But no, they're too lazy and short sighted. Sorry, they're just too infuriating. I don't think I've ever rolled my eyes more at something regarding the Spice Girls than seeing this article! 😅

Really demonstrates the power of playlists! Manifesting is included in three official Spotify playlists, and currently it's the only song from the album included on any. All other songs are relying on user created playlists or people actually checking out the album. Manifesting (82,575) has already very nearly outstreamed Love Me More (85,635) despite that song being released on 21st March! A pity that none of her heyday era singles are included in any official retro/throwback/decades themed Spotify playlists. It's no wonder her streams/monthly listeners tend to be rather low. 😭

It's great that they've really gone for this with the different versions - I really hope she can stay Top 10! I wish we still had Thursday updates. Not the Golden Wagner I wrote this post before that reveal but I'll send anyway! I chose to send Louise for these reasons: At the time of signing up to the competition her album was on the verge of being released (it's out now!) so I was excited and she currently has my focus and passion! I've been a fan for almost 30 years, she's one of the first popstars I was drawn to. Also she's an artist with quite an extensive catalogue to choose from - from the 90s to the 20s, so I was spoiled for choice. I chose 'Borderline' (her newest single) to showcase that she's still going strong at 50 and because it's one of my current favourite songs. I'm happy that quite a few of you enjoyed it! I had briefly considered sending Griff (❤️) before going firm with Louise - maybe next time I'll send Griff? #nospoilersplease I'm not sure who I'd have chosen if I'd given more thought to sending a much bigger artist. I'd already selected Mariah Carey in AF Idol a few years ago. Maybe Beyoncé? A lot of my major favourites happen to have artist forums so they weren't eligible for this. 😆 Well done everyone, many amazing songs were sent! As well as some artists I know and love already, it was particularly interesting to hear songs/genres from artists I'd not given much or any time to before. In particular I would shout out A-ha - Cry Wolf, I really enjoyed it! Commiserations Yva and Lemon Demon but it looks like we'll meet again soon! Personally my money's on Lemon Demon to make a triumphant return x

The sales total the GH has currently (probably 800k-ish as mentioned) - I feel like that's what it should have managed in 2007 alone! Let alone in 18 years lol. The album specifically needed better promotion. They really needed ITV appearances, certainly The X Factor but also a sit down interview on a chat show. Greatest Hits should have been such an easy seller over Christmas 2007 and yet it was only #27 in Christmas chart week 🫢 As for nowadays, I feel like most of the attention they get is specifically Wannabe. Most of their hits (which of course were HUGE at the time) do a fraction of the streams of Wannabe, and that doesn't help the Greatest Hits' sales prospects. The top 2 most streamed songs on it (which are Wannabe and presumably still Stop) are weighted down to the average streams of the rest of the album. But their third, fourth, fifth etc most streamed probably don't stream as strongly as Westlife's third, fourth and fifth do, and that results in Westlife's GH ultimately being considered to be selling more in streaming units.

There’s two new Digital albums on her store! One contains two new tracks - Release and Crush. The second is Instrumentals. https://louise.tmstor.es Extended CD has sold out! I’m so impressed with this album. Louise should certainly feel proud of herself for this, over 30 years into her career and making music that’s this strong. It’s contemporary yet it’s still “Louise” sounding. I don’t think there’s a weak moment across the whole record - for me it’s her most consistent album to date. I really hope any fans of pop music will give this album a try, even if Louise isn’t an artist you’ve engaged with before. If you like Kylie then this album should be right up your street. I think most pop girls would be happy to have some of these songs in their own catalogues. ❤️ …and that’s my impassioned Louise post of the day done!

Sadly I don't think any of their studio albums will reach those targets any time soon. To the point we might not see it happen until the 2040s, lol, unless a reunion gives their music a very impactful and long lasting boost. I doubt Spice has even made it to 3.1m yet. I estimate around 3,080,000 for it currently. In a normal period of inactivity from them, Spice sells less than 300 units a week. Spiceworld does less than that, usually under 150 units a week. I think it would be on 1,650,000 at the very most at the moment, but 6xPlatinum is 1.8m. If we're generous Forever might have made it to 280,000 by now but I think it would be more like 278k. It was only managing roughly 20 copies a week on average. I do think it's likely that both Goodbye and M/WDYTYA have exceeded 1m by now but it would be lovely to have official confirmation! If Stop is still selling as well as it was from 2022 to 2023, it would be on 928k now. Viva Forever might have exceeded 900,000 by now too.
