Predict: Where will 'Sweat' chart in the UK?
Even this close to the release date, I find it hard to predict! I would like to think she can outdo the first week sales of self-titled, but by how much... hmm! There's a lot of physical variants. I wonder if she'll have download exclusives during release week? I'd love for her to make the Top 5 again, but anywhere Top 10 would be wonderful. Anyway, just like, @Jessie Where, I'll go with #6! I slightly fear that the ongoing impact of the 'Michael' film on Michael Jackson's back catalogue could push her lower than a position she might have achieved earlier this year. In yesterday's midweeks there are Michael Jackson albums at #4, #7, #18, #20 and #22, largely because of strong streaming, so if he continues to surge... well, we'll see what happens.

Conan Gray - Wishbone
#86 in the midweeks! Of the new songs, I was most impressed with Moths on first listen. I liked them all though!

Four Parlophone albums to be released on vinyl
Oh!! Finally! I wonder if they'll be available in standard black and/or colour variants? X and Aphrodite would be immediate purchases for me! It's been an annoyance for years that I haven't had Aphrodite in my collection (because the resale prices have been too much to justify) and we've certainly had to be patient waiting for X to get the vinyl treatment. It seems each release will only include the standard tracks. In an ideal world Parlophone would have taken the opportunity to expand the vinyl track lists to include any deluxe/bonus tracks, but that would have been a long shot given that all their previous Kylie vinyl releases are standard track lists only. I already own the original pressings of Light Years and Kiss Me Once, so I probably wouldn't need them. Although Kiss Me Once would be a lovely red vinyl! On the subject of Kylie vinyl I'm still disappointed that BMG didn't continue 35th anniversary editions for her 2nd, 3rd and 4th albums.

How interesting that she can sell 1000 of this within an hour and a half, but can’t sell 500 of the Amazon one in over 2 months?

UK Albums: Chart Runs and Sales
I miss those days too! I also find it curious that Tangled Up Q4 sales were a bit of a dip compared to WWTNS/Chem/TSOGA/OOC at that time of year. I wonder if Polydor/Fascination were a bit underwhelmed by how Tangled Up performed initially? That album's saving grace seems to be that it held up well in 2008, as you mention @Liam.k.! Whereas WWTNS and Chem were way more frontloaded.

Here is all the chart action - none of them made the actual main chart, but across other charts, Northern Star performed the best. It's been a case of diminishing returns with every release: Northern Star (Record Store Day 2022) #26 - Scottish Albums Chart #30 - Record Store Chart #32 - Vinyl Albums Chart #45 - Physical Albums Chart #47 - Albums Sales Chart #82 - Albums Chart Update (i.e. Monday midweek) Northern Star (National Album Day 2023) #70 - Physical Albums Chart #74 - Albums Sales Chart #100 - Scottish Albums Chart A Girl Like Me (Record Store Day 2024) #34 - Record Store Chart #89 - Albums Sales Chart #89 - Physical Albums Chart Reason (Record Store Day 2025) #99 - Physical Albums Chart Hot (Record Store Day 2026) #3 - Hip Hop and R&B Albums Chart I'm speculating here, but perhaps the label recreating A Girl Like Me very faithfully to the CD release's artwork (presumably paying the license to re-use the photoshoot), only to get a rather meh outcome with sales, made them cut corners for Reason re: not bothering to pay for the Reason photoshoot. Then Reason doing worse than A Girl Like Me (as an otherwise reasonable item - 2xLP black vinyl/expanded version, with sleeves) made the label even more reluctant to give Hot a particularly good treatment... so they went really basic with a picture disc/plastic sleeve, without even including a sheet of credits. To sell even worse than Reason... Meh! Even though we know Geri and Victoria are reluctant about music releases (to say the least) I can imagine Universal/Virgin thinking it's really not worthwhile continuing, when their Spice items are amongst the least desired/least purchased on RSD lol. I'm not really sure "what went wrong" with A Girl Like Me. Maybe it's just a sad reality that there's not that many people who are fussed to own solo Spice Girls albums. It's not that Pop items aren't of interest on RSD. Louise Redknapp's vinyl for 2026 did considerably better than A Girl Like Me, Reason and Hot. I know she's active but she's still niche - but fans showed up to buy it to a greater extent than solo Spice Girls.

I feel like the label got out of this the amount of effort put into it... heh. It's one of the worst performing RSD titles, oops-

Ooh the vinyl comes with a booklet! Although her official site showed the track list being 7 songs on Side A and 6 songs on Side B, the above vinyl shows that the opposite is actually the case.

The Pop Factor: Season 2 • THE FINAL RESULTS
Congratulations @Julian_! Extremely well played with ABBA and they/you are a very worthy winner. My ABBA knowledge didn’t stretch too far outside of ABBA Gold, so it was great to be exposed to some of their deeper cuts. Also well done @JosephStyles and @Scene for making it to the final round! You all smashed it! Maybe it’s a rogue choice, but just like Joseph, Hard Out Here is actually my favourite Lily Allen song (closely followed by The Fear) so that was my top ranked song of the final! Thank you again to @Calum for an incredibly enjoyable and well-hosted Season 2. Rest now x (and the hype for Season 3 is already high ) Oh and interesting to see how Conan did in the round that brought him back, that was close! Happy that Alley Rose connected so well and had the opportunity alongside @ElectroBoy to showcase more from him. That was also a close run thing in the Semi Final! Minor note but Sober was a radio single in the USA, however it performed poorly which seemingly led to it not becoming a single internationally or receiving a bigger push in the US (plus no music video). The label really botched that era, particularly in the UK! Despite scoring a Top 10 single in Never Again and even managing a #2 album with My December, the era pretty much ended here after that.
