European Football Leagues Thread 2023/24
A dramatic day in their Bundesliga. With minutes to go, Bayer Leverkusen, unbeaten all season, were a goal down at home to Hoffenheim. Two late goals gave them another victory to take them 13 points clear of Bayern. In the late kick-off, Bayern, who had scored 13 goals in their last two league games, lost at home to Borussia Dortmund. So, with just seven games to go, Leverkusen have a 13-point lead. Three more wins and they end Bayern's title-winning run.

The UK #3 singles listening sessions - Week 7 poll
I love O What A Circus as well. It is right at the start of Evita, just after her death is announced in a cinema. David Essex is playing a cynical Che Guevara asking why there is so much fuss about "the death of an actress", setting up the whole musical which explains the fuss. As this song is at the start of the musical it is, therefore, arguable that Don't Cry For Mer Argentina is set to the same tune as O What A Circus

Political predictions for 2024
Bit late, but.... Following defeat in the general election, Rishi Sunak announces that he will be leaving parliament immediately and will be moving to the USA. The chair of the 1922 committee (whoever that will be as Graham Brady is not standing at the election) says that deputy leader Oliver Dowden will be interim leader and that the election of a new leader will be paused "for a period of reflection". Richmond Conservatives choose their candidate for the by-election - Boris Johnson. Of course, the hope is that the tactic backfires as he suffers a humiliating defeat in the by-election.

Can I make an early bid for the Eric Carmen RIP slot song to be Overnight Sensation by his former band The Raspberries? After all, everybody knows All By Myself, both the fantastic original and the version in which Céline Dion brutally murdered it.

I am legally obliged to post this from Rob Newman and David Baddiel (The Mary Whitehouse EWxperience). This was one of a number of acoustic (Unplugged) spoofs they did as a running joke. Sorry the quality of the video is so poor. 4x4It_uE9ME
