You should have asked him why he dumped Mrs Bone(head) after so many years of mentioning her in the Commons at every opportunity.
  3. It dates from the formation of the country when the additional E was missing. When it was added following a 52-48% vote in a referendum, the name remained unchanged.
  4. In an official statement, the Suedonian Official Department Of Media (SODOM) said "We are delighted to be returning to BJSC after a short absence. We help that other countries will enjoy our entry."
  5. It's very tempting to vote for everything in both polls, but that would be rather pointless. I'll have to give it some thought.
  6. Pink Floyd - See Emily Play Procol Harum - Homburg Simon & Garfunkel - The Boxer Donovan – Mellow Yellow Simon Dupree and the Big Sound – Kites As usual, I've avoided some of the classics that everyone will probably know.
  7. People living in Eastern Europe, now might be a time to start panicking... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-68266447
  8. In a top of the table clash in the Bundesliga Bayer Leverkusen beat perennial champions Bayern Munich 3-0 to increase their lead at the top to five points. The margin of victory means that Leverkusen now have a better goal difference than Bayern.
  9. Yes, Andy Burnham would have been a far better Labour leader in the referendum.
  10. Last night, well after the Commons had closed for a week's recess, Sunak announced thirteen new members of the House of Lords. Eight of them were Tories, four Labour and one Plaid Cymru. When most of the hereditary peers were thrown out, Tony Blair said that the make-iup of the politically affiliated peers should roughly reflect the vote share at the previous general election. The Truss and Johnson resignation lists took the number. of Tory peers to five more than all other parties combined (including an Independent Conservative). These new appointments increase the Tory majority. After the election, there will be a dissolution honours list. That is likely to include a further batch of Tories who are standing down or lose their seat. Then there is the likelihood of a Sunak resignation list. There are already 103 more Tory than Labour peers. These two upcoming lists will extend their advantage even more. Unless some of those Tories can be persuaded to retire, Starmer is likely to be tempted to appoint dozens of new Labour peers to reduce the gap. There are already almost 800 members of the House of Lords (making it the second largest legislative chamber in the world, behind only China's equally unelected "parliament"). Within a year, there could be closer to 900. PS. Auto-correct keeps changing Sunak to Sunk

  13. At the same session of PMQs, a backbencvhj Tory MP spoke about his problems with his mental health. At the end of the session Sunk simply walked out of the chamber. Starmer, OTOH, crossed the aisle to offer the MP support. Sunk just seems to be totally lacking in empathy.

  21. The government has sacked the chair of the Post Office. As he has only been in the job for just over a year, this seems somewhat harsh. Yet again, the Tories are finding someone else to blame and hoping that the electorate falls for it.
