From http://www.stokesentinel.co.uk/Decision-re...tail/story.html Decision to rename Middleport streets after Robbie Williams songs are rubberstamped by Stoke-on-Trent City Council By The Sentinel | Posted: April 14, 2014 A COUNCIL has rubber-stamped a decision to rename streets after songsby Potteries pop superstar Robbie Williams. As well as offering the Burslem-born singer the Freedom of the City, Stoke-on-Trent City Council decided to rename three streets in the Middleport area of the city as a tribute to the star who celebrated his 40th birthday this year. Bennett Street which will change to Candy Lane, Dimsdale Street which will change to Angels Way and Slater Street which will change to Supreme Street. The name change will cost the local authority between £200 and £250, and will be funded by the Directorate of City Renewal. A council report said these three streets were chosen as there are currently no properties located off them and they are due to be redeveloped for housing by Sanctuary Group and Seddon Construction. :D
