Ordinary Love-new U2 song
From http://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/u...rack-song-2653/ U2 to enter Christmas Number 1 race with Nelson Mandela soundtrack song 06/12/2013 U2 to enter Christmas Number 1 race with Nelson Mandela soundtrack song By Daniel Lane Ordinary Love, from the soundtrack to Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom, sees overnight sales boost as fans pay tribute to late president of South Africa. Following the death of Nelson Mandela yesterday evening (Thursday, December 5) U2’s new single, Ordinary Love, has emerged as a contender for this year’s Christmas Number 1 as the British record buying public pay tribute to the late president of South Africa. The single is taken from the soundtrack to the film Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom, which is based on Nelson Mandela’s 1994 autobiography of the same name, and stars Idris Elba and Naomie Harris. According to today’s Official Charts Company sales data, Ordinary Love is on course to enter the Official Singles Chart Top 75 this weekend. It is currently at Number 89 on today’s sales flash, and just over 3,000 copies away from a Top 40 placing. It is not unfeasible that Ordinary Love’s momentum will continue to grow in the run up to this year’s Christmas Number 1 race, which officially begins a week on Sunday (December 15).

Ordinary Love-new U2 song
From http://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2013...on-mandela.html Published at 12:00 PM on December 6, 2013 BY ERIC GOSSETT Bono Pens Tribute Essay to Nelson Mandela Bono, a longtime civil rights activist and supporter of Nelson Mandela, has written a tribute for the former South African president in Time. “As an activist I have pretty much been doing what Nelson Mandela tells me since I was a teenager,” Bono writes. “He has been a forceful presence in my life going back to 1979, when U2 made its first anti-apartheid effort.” The U2 frontman went on to praise Mandela for his efforts to end Apartheid in South Africa, as well as his struggle to put an end to AIDS and poverty in Africa. Over the years, Bono and Mandela worked together on several nonprofit projects. Last week, U2 also released the first track “Ordinary Love,” off their new album for the upcoming Mandela biopic Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom. Mandela died yesterday afternoon at the age of 95. Robbie Williams: One Night At The Palladium
From http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-previews/wha...ams-one-2898295 Robbie Williams night at the Palladium may be what he was born to do 6 Dec 2013 16:38 This made-for-TV concert was timed to coincide with the release of his album Swings Both Ways, the UK’s 1,000th number one album http://i4.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article2893219.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/Robbie-Williams-One-Night-At-The-Palladium-2893219.jpg I saw a T-shirt recently that read: “What if the hokey cokey really is what it’s all about?” And that was kind of the reaction to Robbie Williams’s show at the London Palladium back in November. What if, during his entire career up until this point – the Take That years, Angels, the soul-searching documentaries and all the rest of it – he was merely biding his time until he could launch himself as a cross between Michael Buble and Morecambe and Wise? What if, inside the credible pop performer there was a shiny-floored Christmas special just waiting to get out? This made-for-TV concert was timed to coincide with the release of his album Swings Both Ways, which has already ensured its place in musical history by becoming the UK’s 1,000th number one album. It’s the follow-up to his first big band release Swing When You’re Winning from 2001, which became his most successful ever. At the Palladium, the tone for the evening was pretty much set when he was introduced by Kermit the Frog. And if you were there but had the cheap seats in the Gods, you’ll be relieved to see in his duet on Somethin’ Stupid that Nicole Kidman hasn’t really let herself go – he’s actually singing with Miss Piggy. There are more duets with Rufus Wainwright and, wonderfully, his dad, Pete Conway. But amid all the glitter, the fat suits and the high-wire japes, there’s some genuine emotion in Go Gentle – a song for his daughter written with his old song-writing partner Guy Chambers. It’s proof the old Robbie is still in there somewhere.

Robbie Williams: One Night At The Palladium
I didn't enjoy the show Sparkle. It left me totally cold. I have lost my Robbie mojo :( Except 'Something Stupid' with Miss Piggy. That was funny. I haven't bought the album and haven't tried for concert tickets. I'm not going to come onto BJ and lie about things. I don't like swing. I don't like these songs. I want Karma Killer, not If I Only Have A Brain. :( I want Robbie the rock star, not Robbie Mr Cheesy Light Entertainment. But I'm sure millions would have loved the show tonight. So, hey, each to their own. -_-

Robbie: Daily News
From http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/celeb...8-1226773821421 Robbie Williams admits taking heroin DECEMBER 03, 2013 5:02AM ROBBIE Williams has admitted he took heroin during the height of his drug addiction. Speaking to Q magazine, Williams said he resorted to trying the drug after running out of cocaine during a drunken night in 1997. "I tried it but only because we ran out of coke. It was like, 'Yeah, alright then, I’ll have a go.' "It was horrible. It just made me throw up. That particular opiate didn’t suit me that day. Thank God." Williams has revealed that he used cocaine to overcome his shyness in social situations. He said: "It did give me a lot of confidence. I haven’t got a lot to say in social situations. "Sometimes I can be on great form and have lots to say and interact well. But most of the time, even with good friends, I’m like 'Hmm... don’t know what to say now.' "Coke used to help fill in those blanks." Williams - who has 14-month-old daughter Teddy with wife Ayda Field - stopped drinking 13 years ago and entered rehab for addiction to prescription pills in 2007 but is now clean. Williams also admitted that at the height of his addiction he didn’t care whether he lived or died. He said: "I’d given up, which is the scariest thing. I just didn’t care. "I don’t think you are mentally sound when you are in the deepest depths of compulsion and addiction. You’re not thinking with a sound head. "But I just got into a place where I was like, 'It might be tonight and I don’t care'. I care now. A lot."

Robbie: Daily News
From http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/enterta...ow/26799823.cms Robbie Williams buys Michael Winner's house Singer Robbie Williams has bought late filmmaker Michael Winner's plush London pad for USD 17.5 million. The 'Candy' hitmaker reportedly snapped up the late film director's grade II listed Woodland House in Holland Park, west London, in order to give his daughter Theodora 'Teddy' Rose a quintessentially English home, reported Contactmusic. The 39-year-old star and his wife Ayda Field have been searching for a London pad for over a year while living in Los Angeles. The plush abode is fitted with a cinema room, swimming pool, and its own editing suite. According to reports, flamboyant filmmaker Winner, who died at the house earlier this year aged 77, once complained there were more than 3,400 electric bulbs in the spacious property. Andrew Langton, chairman of Aylesford estate agents, said, "The most important thing is that Woodland House has gone to a family and not a developer, which is really what Winner wanted. That was an absolute priority so everyone is happy. I'm sure Michael will be looking down with a smile." AYM GVS
