I also have the Now! That's What I Call A Music Quiz DVD! 'Forever' is my favourite from the last section, not quite of the same classic status as 'Set You Free', but Kelly still sings the hell out of it and there's a euphoric build through the chorus. 'Dead Leaves And The Dirty Ground' is great too from The White Stripes, I think they recorded that album entirely with analogue means such as valve amps, creating a harsher sound that's more noticeable here than the faster earlier singles.

Fantastic to see those points coming in from all directions with 31 voters, and although more than half of those were between 5-9 points inclusive, a healthy 10 votes were in double figures. In truth, this sounded like it would be a safe qualifier (although it turned out to have had no votes of 12 or 10 in the semi final), but with my previous top 10s all hailing from EDM, it feels great to have this success with a pop song that's one of my favourites of the year so far (also my first entry released in 2025) - while there just happened to be another in the contest that took my top points, and won! 'Posion' and 'Toy Soldiers' are my favourite additions since I last commented. 'Ride On Time' is great too and era-defining, soured only slightly for me by the saga of the uncleared / uncredited / replaced vocal sample (in a similar way to 'Toca's Miracle'), though Loleatta's vocals are a powerhouse and at least she had some credited chart success after this.

If streams are low tomorrow with it being a bank holiday, 'Ordinary' could end up with another increase next week, then if it's the same again after the bank holiday 3 weeks later, it could stay on SCR for long enough to get 15 consecutive weeks at #1, and one more dodge could see it break Bryan Adams' record!

I voted for both the double-Debb top 2, although 6 for Debby means mine was a decisive vote, always a bit of an argh moment when that happens as '1/17' would have made a fine winner too, but fab to see it so well supported anyway! Delighted with my own result for several reasons - my first finish in 5th in any song contest on Buzzjack, a fourth BJSC top 10 soon after the third, and they've covered each of 2nd to 5th! A first non-EDM top 10 too, and 31 voters is second only to the 35 for ACRAZE (in finishing 4th) - fantastic to see votes coming in from all directions! I know MØ is a well-known name, but I thought this era of hers had gone a little under the radar, and as one who hasn't sent many pop songs here before, this was too good to pass up giving a try! Thank you to all voters, especially Jake and Leww for the silvers and Joop for the gold! 18 voters in the semi without any 10s or 12s might be some kind of record too perhaps Following the results from a ship in the North Sea (and perhaps a little too closely for that) meant I could only silently emoji along, but this was one of the most enjoyable finals I've been in, and a superbly hosted one too - thank you so much Josh!

Muse wins easily. Still I'm a little irked it's become one of their best remembered early singles when they had many great tunes of their own even by then.

My favourite song of theirs! Peaked at #34 on re-release the following year.

Thought I'd better support my current BJSC artist so gave both songs a listen, and it is indeed MØ whose version I prefer. The other one is OK until the drop which I'm sure would become annoying very quickly.

Another of my top 10 of 2002 has appeared with 'Do You Realize?' - songs about the inevitability of death can be quite life-affirming and there's a suitably celestial feel to the production - it's my favourite from The Flaming Lips.
