  1. Voted for Cynthia Erivo
  2. Anabel Englund this week. btw I don't see the playlist in this thread? I got it through Spotify in my recents from last week.
  3. This is tough, I like all 3 songs about the same - but as I have bigger faves from Amy, I've given her the vote.
  4. (Oh Snap!)
  5. jimwatts posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
+5 Lady Gaga - Abracadabra +4 Kendrick Lamar & SZA - All The Stars +3 Lola Young - Messy +2 Kendrick Lamar - Not Like Us +1 Chappell Roan - Pink Pony Club -1 Kendrick Lamar & SZA - luther -2 Tate McRae - Revolving Door -3 Tate McRae - Sports Car -4 Alex Warren - Ordinary -5 Benson Boone - Beautiful Things
  6. Some big losses towards the end in Crowded House and Suede - I hope 25th place is something else I voted for, as I could easily have put 'Animal Nitrate' on 16 points rather than 14 on another day! I voted for 16/25 of those finalists, not quite as many as in the first semi, but a few I'm pleasantly surprised have made it through.
  7. Congratulations Dan! Wonderful entry, and Doctor B's was just outside my votes - delighted to be third behind them for my first Club Bizarre podium! Thank you Kath for hosting!
  8. Thank you RFC and Scene - oh wow, who's left to decide?
  9. Thanks Leww for a bronze! Can't call which way this will go in the last few votes
  10. A very inspired entry, the repeated vocal sounds like "taxi, taxi" and gives the impression of a cab ride turned adventurous! Edit: thank you Kath!
  11. Thank you Ansel for the gold and Cody and Doctor B for the bronzes, also Rich, BrΓ©, Herbs, Jade, Addy, Allβ˜…, dandy*, Cow and Dan for the other points (wow, each pointage at least once except 10 already!)
  12. Best: BeyoncΓ© - Crazy In Love (feat. JAY-Z) James Blunt - You're Beautiful Nelly - Hot In Herre OutKast - Hey Ya! Sean Paul - Get Busy Worst: Clay Aiken - This Is The Night D4L - Laffy Taffy Fantasia - I Believe
  13. Chris Brown - Forever Fall Out Boy - This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (never heard 'Fergalicious' so kind of intrigued, probably won't get the votes though) I'd suggest 'Wish I Didn't Miss You' for Angie

  16. Updated everything as at this week.
  17. Very happy to see so many of these being highlights for you too. 'APT.' is so catchy and an imaginative concept for a pop song. 'Decline & Fall' may be within the comfort zone for The Manics but it was refreshing to hear them reflect on their legacy - unlucky for them to end up with a 6th #2 album though. I hadn't realised 'American Teenager' was in BJSC, just before my time it seems - a new favourite Trifoski entry for me perhaps. I did give her new album Perverts a listen albeit not in the best setting, but have since appreciated the quiet intensity of 'Amber Waves' almost as much as 'Punish' from pre-album. Sharon Van Etten's album is really good, a couple more of its tracks could pop up in such a list for 2025. The Lankum and Jockstrap songs I found from your EOY of 2023, I may have heard the latter before but it was a delight when it fell into place, intrigued for what they come up with next. Delighted to see the top 2 were so much to your and Chez's liking 'Capricorn' is gorgeous, fab to see it high up in your EOY too, and wow that is praise indeed for 'Weird Boy' as a 15 pointer happy to have discovered it from laurent pons and been able to give it a platform in BJSC - I think you'd like the album, their darkwave sound is strong throughout. So glad you enjoyed following this! Thanks both 😊
  18. 'Paranoid Android' this felt seismic at the time, unlike anything else in the charts or on the radio, especially the middle eight, and a sign of the expanding possibilities of British guitar music post-peak Britpop. I was one of the 94k who bought it that week. 'Six Underground' getting a belated Top 10 peak was also great to see. I notice TOTP cut their rundown from a Top 40 to a Top 20, between these weeks, but the last ever full Top 40 rundown included the Top 40 debuts of Stereophonics and Basement Jaxx - the latter's 'Fly Life' was huge on Radio 1 at the time, although seemed to be all but forgotten by the time their bigger hits and album came around two years later.
  19. 'Buffalo Stance' is my favourite in the last couple of Top 10s - one of the earliest songs on The Best Dance Album In The World Ever! 2 which was my introduction to a number of dance classics when I got it in 1995. Thank you for the thread Gezza. Look forward to completing the 1980s soon!
  20. I'd be good with Monday?
  21. 'Messy' returning to #1 post-reset seems a real possibility. It could mean that 10 weeks into 2025, we still wouldn't have had a #1 that even made its Top 10 debut this year.
  22. Wonder what this would look like with #2s? I did... points are weeks at #2 x weeks Top 40, as at last Friday - when this had a new leader! 246 Chappell Roan - Good Luck, Babe! 245 Maroon 5 feat. Christina Aguilera - Moves Like Jagger 210 cassΓΆ, RAYE & D-Block Europe - Prada 192 Frank Chacksfield - Terry's Theme (Theme From "Limelight" 192 Pogues feat. Kirsty MacColl - Fairytale Of New York 190 Free - All Right Now * 180 Hozier - Take Me To Church 175 Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Murder On The Dancefloor 174 Fireboy DML & Ed Sheeran - Peru 162 The Kid LAROI & Justin Bieber - STAY * includes 7 weeks Top 40 for 'The Free EP' for which this was the lead track. 'APT.' should gatecrash this list in April.
  23. Three losses before today in Bloc Party, Robert Miles and Coldplay, but Blancmange is the biggest so far for me πŸ˜•
  24. Not me being the only one to lose 5 of my votes in SF1 - I see Niceland had the same outcome in SF2. Thanks Cody for hosting the first results on the new site, great job!
