  1. 'Ordinary' kept out of the Top 20 by 'Ordinary' part 2
  2. Finally *.* well Top 20 next week seems a cert from here, but hurrah for this making a belated Top 40 debut, their best song since the 90s for me!
  3. Was just starting to wonder that 🤔 hopefully!
  4. Astonished that 'Go' is so high but not complaining! Looks like it's already outpeaked their last Top 40 hit, 'The Salmon Dance'
  5. 70 Top 40 hits for Madonna
  6. Oh this stayed ahead of 'Nice To Each Other' and is getting a play this week!
  7. I think 'I Want You Back' charted in 2009 but didn't go Top 40? It has a separate download entry on the OCC page.
  8. Vermont, Texas, Boston... where next?
  9. No arguments with that bottom 3, I'd rank them all below everything in the 2009 list. Shout For England was all kinds of wrong, and as I wrote in the 2009 thread, 'The Club Is Alive' was just awful - it definitely hastened the decline for JLS as you said. The X Factor Finalists singles were all pretty cynical exercises, but in musical terms they got worse as they went on (and 2011's is worse still).
  10. Not a Man Utd fan at all, but this was OK, one of the more bearable club football songs. I hadn't heard the Status Quo original ('Burning Bridges') until much later, and it still sounds wrong to me without "come on you reds, come on you reds" in the instrumental bits.
  11. Knowing who it actually is, I think the original sender of that artist won't be able to vote in this contest.
  12. I always thought GusGus were due another hit
  13. 'I Want You Back' looks certain for a reset - it's another one that could potentially go Top 10 in a third decade if you count the 1988 remix, don't think it'll climb that high though. Will be its first Top 40 appearance since then anyway.
  14. Great to see another song contest on the way. Did the top 7 from the last Bop Idol all turn down hosting then, argh x Entry sent!
  15. Do 3SL count? Brothers of Lisa Scott-Lee, hence the SL.
  16. Congratulations Dandy! From everything I've heard, 'The Things That Dreams Are Made Of' is probably the standout from Dare that wasn't a single in the UK, there was no way I wasn't going to give that maximum points. Well done seven as well! I didn't expect to be anywhere near the top, so 3rd is fantastic - in all Buzzjack contests that's 12 podiums now (1 x 1st, 6 x 2nd, 5 x 3rd) - and this song is such an oddball long time fave of mine from this era, all the big names with acclaimed album releases in 1995 felt a bit played out, I contemplated a deeper dive, but as a #24 UK hit was allowed I had to give it a go. Thanks dhwe for those points, and again to all other voters! Thank you Chez for hosting - a fun concept with an eclectic set of discoveries here!
  17. oh my... it'll be my 5th podium in this contest, the others were three 2nds and a 3rd...
  18. Thank you Addy 💚 wow I believe this is the first time I've had five top scores in any contest! [Aside from one BJSC semi final where MRD had five 12s, but only two of those (+ two from the other semi) converted to 18s in the final.] Thanks Suede for some points too.
  19. yay another 12 💚 thank you AllStar! Great song choice too, now we all know where The Weeknd's 'Out Of Time' came from! Thanks Jester and Dan for some points too.
  20. I knew the lead couldn't last, still after I didn't get any 12s for the latest of my runner-up finishes last time out, it's fantastic to have 3 already 💚 thank you Dobbo (+ for the vocal support in both song contests these last few weeks), Paddington and Lee! Thanks also Mango for 10 and Till and Rich for the other points
  21. 'Twist & Shout' would feature a bit higher for me, I like the backing noises on it.

They're both on only one week of decline before this week, so would need to decline next week too.

Compared with last week's Wednesday mids: The Art Of Loving up by ~1k, so would expect it to end the week at around 16k 'FEVER DREAM' down by ~500 'Dracula' up by ~500 and... 'Rein Me In' up by ~800
