same. I LOVED the original 4-piece and would love them to do something again if Geri doesn't want to. Personally, I find that with Geri it would be more about the nostalgia whereas if the original 4 piece came back together it would be more about 'moving forward' somehow?... A Forever Tour would be a f***ing dream lol but I don't think that would ever happen, sadly... we were ROBBED of a Forever Tour in 2001! I was so ready for it to happen!!!

I hope Geri is ok ☹️ Maybe there is more about what happened last weekend, where she didnt show up for Mel B but also looked so blue/sad on Sunday at the F1...

Are you serious? Don't you understand the correlation between her statement and the context of where it sits in? Like, it's fine, it is what it is, but to portray it in such a way is diminishing very real old school homophobia there. It isn't the same as the Robbie Williams situation (and he was asshole too for saying what he said and has apologized often for it - something that Mel is yet to do). Also, Geri has only ever been 'reluctant' to speak out or at least to be upfront about her relationship with sex since Christian came into the picture. It is also the first time she has a very public relationship with someone super famous too. Let us not forget this is the woman who championed sex-positive campaigns, her whole persona for a long time was that of the 'femme fatale', has documentaries where she talks about sex and her use of sex toys, and often talked about her sexuality in public including flings with women. It's ok that Geri chose to be more private and more family oriented in recent years. No-one is saying otherwise, and she is within her rights to say she didn't want to be talked about, or her sex life or whatever else she might not like. Mel B was absolutely in the wrong then, and they made up.

I love you but there is a lot of whataboutism here... The comment from Mel was out of line, of course. But again, they made it up. Everything else after that is pure speculation from us. What isn't speculation is Geri's statement's intent, which yes it is drenched with 'I'm a lady of the mannor and a mother now, I don't appreciate being seen as a gay' type of comment. It's plain old school homophobia... this is what the statement said (I have highlighted the homophobia parts): "It has been very disappointing to read about all these rumours again, especially on Mother’s Day of all days. Geri is really grateful for your support and loyalty for so many years. She loves the Spice Girls: Emma, Melanie, Melanie and Victoria. She would like [the fans] to know that what has been reported recently is simply not true and has been very hurtful to her family." The first part showcases her as a 'Mother' on 'Mothers Day' as if to imply that this simply is a contradiction to her supposedly gay affair (one she had proudly admitted to before she got in this relationship with Christian!). She then goes on to state that it isn't true, and that it is 'hurtful to her family' I'm sorry wtf... This is Geri Halliwell saying that her family is upset about a past gay fling? So family stands again in opposition to a gay hook up. Even if she didn't mean to denigrade gay people - we know she has consistently been pro-LGBT at least - she does so by framing it as a family situation that is hurted by the comentary on her having a gay fling. It is classic trops of homophobia. This is in the context of her starting to appear in public as a 'posh version' of what we knew of her. It is what it is. She has become a 'Briton first' and 'Family first' type of person, by her own admission. It doesn't make her, at least from what we know, an outright bigot or anti-LGBTQ, but she did make it clear that she was not to be seen as a woman who could have had a past where she did 'the gay thing'. And that was very clear with this statement. It is one of the reasons why people were so upset with her statement. Mel B herself has said questionable things. During 2018-2019 she said she liked boys and girls. Only to now say 'I used to be a lesbian but now I am not, I'm married to a man'. That's f***ing biphobic too lol I think both of them are just quite old school in these issues and probably don't mean any actual harm. But it doesn't mean they weren't wrong or ill intended.

Pauline was probably babysitting Tate as both of them didnt go. Emma likes to keep Tate out of the limelight due to the awful terf shit taking over the UK (she has been threatned online by terfs recently!)

Spice Girls 'turn down' huge Louis Theroux BBC girl band documentary Following the success of Louis Theroux's series called Boybands Forever, the journalist is planning a girl group version, but one iconic group has reportedly shunned his approach Louis Theroux is used to interviewing the best in the business. However, one band has reportedly shunned his advances to tell their story. The popular journalist is creating a new bombshell BBC documentary on girlbands following on from last year's successful production of Boybands Forever. It's thought Louis had seen the iconic band as being instrumental in any production. However, a TV insider has claimed that the quintet - made up of Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton, Melanie C, Melanie Brown MBE and Geri Horner - aren't prepared to bare all just yet. While last year's boyband version saw Robbie Williams open up on his turbulent time in Take That, the source says the Girl Power group aren't looking to follow suit. Talking to the Sun, a source said: "The difference is that the Spice Girls are fast approaching 30 years since the release of their debut single Wannabe and have a string of projects in the pipeline. "Many of the issues that Robbie brought up on Boybands Forever were wholly justifiable, and most viewers sympathised with his situation when he was in Take That. But none of the Spice Girls want to do the same, and they feel it wouldn’t be fair on their loyal fans to spoil the magic of Girl Power so close to their anniversary year. They want 2026 to be a moment when they celebrate the group’s achievements.” --- Let's hope this is true then...😅

Mel B gets married to Rory McPhee at St Paul's Cathedral
It is being reported that Emma sang Let Love Lead The Way during the ceremony 🥰 A beautiful song, sang in one of the most beautiful church's in the world, by one of the most beautiful voices. I would love to see a video of this 😍 (ps: clearly an indication that Forever25 is COMING!!! 😋)

Give the Spice Girls one more #1
this is a very good point that I hadnt considered actually. Not so much about Stop but the relenteless anti-Spice press while they were on tour and then she saw that Stop also didn't get to #1 and probably jumped ship so that she could 'get ahead' with her solo career... clever, but not wise in the long run

yeah that is quite a clear message... I was shocked that not only she didn't even say anything (not even a post online as Mel C and Victoria) but not even her own mum go to the wedding. Ana Maria was the only Spice mum to not attend either... We know the Spice mums are all close, even when Mel B wasn't speaking with her own mum, she was still hanging out with the rest of the Spice mums...

I'm sorry but I dont think the art work is an issue other than for a very small group of rabbid fans... The pink images are ICONIC and really stood out. I don't think most of their fans would have cared back then, same with the Too Much artworks. For a lot of people, they wouldn't even have clocked that these were old photoshoots.... I was already a rabbid fan then and I didn't even know they were old photoshoots until I read it on Denden years later lol

Mel B is also of course to blame, and she should be a bit gentler to Geri for sure. I was kind of shocked when she went on stage for the Q&A in 2024 for her book and said what she said 'about that man' and that she layed it out so clearly that they weren't speaking back then... She seems to have soften how she speaks about Geri since, at least publicly, so maybe some words were had behind the scenes. I totally get this, and I do think that the last year or so have been so damaging because they had of course fallen out, and Geri focusing on Rosie Frost kind of damped everything for the group as well. I get that she would have been pissed off about Mel B talking about her in such terms in public, and for not supporting her during her marriage crisis. But what I wanted to point out is that people blame their fallen out on the Piers Morgan thing, which I don't think is true or at least the whole story, because they clearly made ammends back then. That was clear on tour and afterwards too. It was the last year or so since Rosie and the cheating scandal that seems to have really drove them apart. If anything, the Piers Morgan thing did more damage to Geri because Geri was such a prude about it, and her statement was borderline homophobic to be honest with you.

Spice Girls - 'Spiceworld'
Definitely was hindered by the lack of b-side, but to be honest if they had done the original date, they would have faired better and even go #1... But yes it was the first single to not have a bside, which then became the norm for them as all subsequent singles (bar Goodbye!) lacked one as well. Their insistance on live tracks was cute as they wanted to prove they could sing and were a live act. But they should have just done a live album as planned and include more b-sided anyway. It was so strange that Stop didn't go to #1 as it was everywhere, the choreography is iconic and the song is one of the better known from the 90s!... The press really lapped it up as well that this was confirmation that they were over... A mistep though that rightly was then proven to be bullshit with the success of Viva Forever, Goodbye and Holler all going in at #1! I do think a bigger crime is Holler not managing yet to get to Platinum... now THAT is a serious injustice!

Give the Spice Girls one more #1
Definitly Forever, for the various reasons. It was such a great album and deserved better recognition. Sadly them landing at #2 was such a slap and the press really went to town on them for it. Even it dropped harshly in the following week, I think it would have at least given them a clean slate of #1 albums at the time which was unheard of for most groups, let alone girlbands. Then, I think it would have really pissed of Westlife and that asshole Louis. What a f***ing plage for the music industry they were (and Louis Walsh was a viper and should have absolutely been cancelled back then let alone wait until last year for him to get his rightly public cancellation!) Plus, I think it would have given them a bit more confidence as a 4-piece. It really did a number on them as a group to not succeed with Forever. It reinforced the (wrong) idea that they were nothing without Geri, and also that the group was 'over'. I think it also gave amunition for Mel C to put a stop to all campaigning. Stop and What I Am would have also been cute but both were hits nonetheless, and Stop ultimately got its dues at least, I think those are less important. What I Am, I don't care much for it. But I HATED that they went against each other and that Geri basically sold her soul to win the chart battle. It was a sad, sad moment in Spiceworld, in my opinion, and just reinforced that I was kind of done with Geri. True, both of them could have moved it but I think their record lable wanted the chart battle. I just wish that Geri wasn't so obviously and publicly turned on by it! So after Forever I would have picked that one. Plus I don't think Geri deserved it at all, the song was f***ing rubbish (and rightly forgotten nowadays lol)

Spice Girls • General Discussion
The whole situation between Mel B and Geri seems really stark lately... they seemingly have completely fallen out, to the point that Geri hasnt even aknowleged Mel B's wedding in any way and has kept a distance for a while... While the UK press (trash) keeps saying that it is because of how Mel B reveleaved that they had a one night thing, I think it goes much deeper than that... Somehow, they seemed to have fallen out properly around the time when Geri and Christian had a very public cheating scandal last year, at least... Lets be clear: 2019 - ahead of the tour early in the year, Mel B goes on (fascist-adjancent, moron, Israel-loving) Piers Morgan TV show and states that her and Geri had a one night stand. While this is not news for anyone, somehow this becomes 'scandalous news'. Both had said it over the years or at least hinted at it for ages... Geri releases a statement saying that it was hurting her family. We all know that Mel B shouldnt 'out someone' without their consent, but Gerita's statement reeked of 'I am a posh person now and such dwealings aren't very proper now that I have a posh family' and to be honest, reekes of a little bit of homophobia. This is the same Geri who herself has mentioned and/or hinted she had lesbian affairs throughout her career. Now, she seemed against it. The girls go on tour anyway, and Geri and Mel seemingly have made amends, and they hand out after the tour as well. Mel B even goes to Geri's husbands' car-racing 'shows' and they are snapped througout the year together. 2020 The group go on hiatus after all plans get cancelled by 1) Geri not wanting to tour anymore (and mentioned by both Mel C and Emma) and 2) by COVID cancelling all their plans Rumours somehow go around that the girls are still planning things but noting comes from it 2021 None of the girls promote Spice25 apart from Mel C. Clearly the group isn't very 'together' anymore. Rumours start to fly that the group is over because COVID broke all their plans and they have 'move on' to other projects 2022 - 2024 Various plans are annouced and then cancelled including the annimated movie and various 'planned' tours. Geri announces she is releasing - and focusing on- her children's books 'Rosie Frost'. Whilst the book gets to #4 on a random New York Times Best Sellers list, it flops everywhere else. Spiceworld25 campaign goes live without any of the grils promoting it, and their absence is even more clearly stated than during Spice25. Most of them jsut share the original post on their instagram stories and call it quites. Various merch is released on their webstore without any promo. Clearly, the group is over. Yet, Mel B and Mel C and Emma all voice their intent to carry on. Geri and Victoria keep saying they are done with it. 2024 The year starts with a BIG BANG with two projects announcing the groups' 30th anniversary: UK's Royal Mail Limited Edition Stamps - all the girls post on instagram and seemingly shout about the whole '30 years' angle. Speculation goes rife about this being the big year for the band to celebrate 30 years in the business. Liverpool's British Music Experience exhibition on the group's music Emma joins Mel C's show at Koko in London to celebrate MC's 50th anniversary. The rest of the girls send in a video message. It looks like they are all together and hints of the 30th anniversary keep dropping. Then, Geri's husband gets caught in a cheating scandal. His dick pics are leaked online. During the scandal, Geri makes a move to show a united front with her husband, showing up with him everywhere. During this scandal, Mel B posts this criptic message on twitter/X: Today was sooo shocking and heart wrenchingfor me!No woman should EVER be made to feel like I did today I was devastated, shamed and traumatized.Learn respect learn compassion and LEARN how to uplift other women #triggered #geteducated #womensaid #girlpower The group goes completelt quiet again. The press speculates that all group projects are over because Geri has decided to focus on Rosie Frost and her husband. Mel B seems really cross, even seemingly being pissed about Geri and her husband, calling him 'that man' and saying they aren't talking in a fan-driven show during her promo campaign for her 'Brutally honest' book re-release. Eventually they all turn up to Victoria's 50th birthday celebrations and sing Stop and Mama together. It goes viral. Yet, Mel B and Geri don't seem to interact at all. Mel B goes on Instagram and states that Vicky and Geri are not keen on touring or any group projects, seemingly feeling defeated and saying 'oh well, maybe next year'.... but it all looks quite over... 2025 Geri is clearly focused on Rosie Frost work. She even mentions she has another book coming out and acts quite condescending about the group in interviews. She is quite excited about a 'big hollywood producer' having the rights to turn it into a movie. She refuses to acknowlege any possible group reunion. Mel B and Geri seem completely over. In Mel B's sting with a BBC TV presenter special programme, Alison Hammond's Big Weekend', Mel states that she and Geri aren't talking. Geri fails to acknowlege - let alone turn up - to any of Mel B's wedding or borthday celebrations. It feels really pointed... Sorry, I just had to lay it all out... It seems like somehow they fell out last year properly around Christian's cheating scandal and Geri's intent to stay by her husband and her children's books. Really would love some inside gossip about what really really happened.... All the girls seem to be rallying around Mel B whereas Geri seems completely over it...

Mel B gets married to Rory McPhee at St Paul's Cathedral
Very glad Mel C and Vic's parents were there. They seem very close! Their own daughters should learn a thing or two about being there lol Gerita being completely silent felt very very pointed.... what a sad state of affairs...
